Best things about guilty gear xx (any version)are combo damage reduction and normal hits damage. You can easily win matches without landing a single combo. It reduces the skill ceiling dramatically as long as you can react to your opponent
Do you think someone who haven't played any fighting games is able to beat Arcade on astonishing hard difficulty? I try it everyday for some minutes and try to use blocks/counters/skill and im not very interested in combos(i try to invent them myself).
@@sefflikejeff1917 Thanks for advice. I've made it. After 12h i could not get passed 9/10 and today, after 7 more hours in my 3h session, i beat 9/10 after 40min and 10/10 after said 3h not counting little break. Key to success was to memorize all of enemy attacks and block and use powers wisely. I probably also made it without kicks because i forgot about them xd
@@sefflikejeff1917 Thanks! Math rock is my favorite genre and it lined up really well with the gameplay video you edited. Never thought of using math rock in a video like this, but it worked out great!
I use the 30mm up button for super jump and default for the rest (I think) (Also, I'm working on another controller video about non-fighting games you can play on fgc controllers, and Pizza Tower will be a pretty big chunk of the video!)
@sefflikejeff1917 I've been wondering what other games I could play since I recently got a leverless of my own, so that'd be perfect. Looking forward to it!
I started getting into Tekken lately and found your channel! Stayed for the gameplay and then got convinced to subscribe by your little rant at the end. It's so rare nowadays to see people with a mindset like yours when it comes to monetization, it's a nice breath of fresh air. Keep up the good work man, you're doing great :]
My favorite move he has is back air, not because of the kill move, but because of the forward hitbox it has. It’s small, but still reaches forward a good amount. It has less knockback than nair, and sends slightly upward so it’s a super cool combo move. I’m also disappointed you didn’t mention his higher full hop. If you full hop while crouching you get an even higher jump. It’s super useful for juggling and catching high recoveries. Frog is so fun
I really hate the naming scheme of controllers. I hate that a PS4 controller is called a pad. IMO a leverless should be a pad, a traditional arcade stick should be a fightstick and a PS4 controller should just be a controller. Maybe we should call leverless "boxes" but idk.
I know this video is 2 years old but I just got into strive. S tier fighting game IMO. I play melee, that is my game. But when SF6 came out I decided to branch out. SF6 was a great learning tool to learn motion inputs. Anyways I have a couple of friends who are master rank SF6 players and playing strive against these guys made me learn the game fast. I think this is by far the best way to learn. If you have someone who is far better than you but can teach you a little bit you will learn way faster than just playing randos online. Anyways I love this game.
Your statement of getting hands on experience before you can really understand it Reminds me of part from a video by core-a gaming where artosis is saying that until you learn how to actually do something you don’t actually know anything about it And that stuck with me because thats very close to my thinking on a lot of things
I’m not a veteran or anything of guilty gear, I’m just trying to study the guilty gear animation style over other fighters because there’s something about the animation of this series that really tickles my brain in the best way that I’m trying to learn for my own project. You’re one of the only people who has a decent and high quality video of gameplay for XXAC, so thanks for that! :D*
That last bit seems insane to me, but I guess the game has been around forever. Most of the videos about it were probably made/uploaded closer to when it came out in glorious 360p quality
i know this video has been out for a year now but i too am trying to learn to play with keyboard but idk what mapping to use, do you have any recommandation ?
I used all default binds for the attack buttons (u for Punch, J for Kick, etc.) I had dash on w and burst on L RC on Q My recommendation is to maximize comfort though
I really like the video, gives a solid insight into the new player experience I think the hardest thing about getting into the genre is to learn to lose well And to just find the fun in it regardless and taking breaks when appropriate
Ngl stumbled here from u strive video; for sure thought this video was gonna have a decent amount of views, but holly molly only 3.6k????? The poopy graphics make me feel so at home too. Good things are coming bro just keep doing it for you and as long as you can believe and suppourt yourself im sure the rest will follow soon.
Awesome video definitely subscribing ~ Yeah I just this last Monday (almost a week) into learning guilty gear strive. Just bought myself a Haute 42 R16 to try out leverless but have been training on the keyboard whilst it arrives. It’s such a blast. 😅 getting absolutely bodied by my friends but it’s a good time. Keep making videos like these and maybe like challenges for how good can you get at a more difficult character in GGST in 24 hours may be a fun thing?
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I hope you enjoy your haute! I've tried those out a little at locals, and I really like how the mechanical switches feel, and I like how all the buttons are 30mm. My next video is gonna be about non-fighting games you can play on a leverless controller or fightstick. While I've been making the video, I've been trying to get better with my new strive main, chipp, but footage of that will mostly be used for b roll.
look man in the comment here that I'll encourage you to keep going cuz after all we all start at some point but in my head, I'm gonna shit talk your gameplay but don't worry I wont let my inner thoughts be in the comments gotta keep the community positive
didn't know there was more tutorial stages did the first one then jumped straight into learning combos and straight into pvp and needles to say i got clapped (7 hours of gameplay)
Did he say he plays this game on a keyboard? I know the terminology for the moves is used by saying like 236 for a half circle forward but actually playing with the keyboard? Sounds difficult.
@@sefflikejeff1917 nice. I’ve never played on keyboard… I honestly didn’t know it was a thing… just seems weird but people type on computers all day… people wild out on calculators etc.
I picked up this game today, because I'm getting into guilty gear, and I want to play with my friends but I have an ultra shitty laptop that I think would turn into a bomb if I even _tried_ running Strive on it. The biggest bonus is that my absolute favourite character (Robo ky) is playable in it!
