CSCS is the leading skills certification scheme within the UK construction industry.
CSCS cards provide proof that individuals working on construction sites have the appropriate training and qualifications for the job they do on site. By ensuring the workforce are appropriately qualified the card plays its part in improving standards and safety on UK construction sites.
Holding a CSCS card is not a legislative requirement. It is entirely up to the principal contractor or client whether workers are required to hold a card before they are allowed on site. However, most principal contractors and major house builders require construction workers on their sites to hold a valid card.
Hello, in order to acquire a CSCS card you will need to complete a CITB Health, Safety and Environment test, which can only be completed in the UK. You will also need to hold the correct qualifications for the role you hold. You can find out more information about applying for a card here - www.cscs.uk.com/applying-for-cards/
All the idiots complaining about the process clearly have no understanding of the importance of health and safety on a site, people die every day because of not adhering to it. What's the bets these people moaning are just lazy people that want something for zero effort. Sorry but when I'm on site, i want to know that everyone I'm working with has passed their citb, especially when they are controlling machinery. You lot want to be grateful we havev these standards here

You can find out more about making and submitting an appeal via our website: www.cscs.uk.com/applying-for-cards/appeals/ Thanks

The dumbest thing is that Cscs have not the first clue about construction.CSCS was introduced as a safety card and they have morphed it into a skills card. Its essentially a scam now selling unnecessary courses. The people involved have no idea how construction actually works, why one solution is not always correct in a different situation, what various trades actually do and why.Not competent to assess the industry
@@mrt445i did a training course which was over 300 slides of repetitive dribble. When it came to the final test they practically gave the answers to everyone…course wasn’t cheap

Hi Gerard, CSCS don't offer or provide tests or exams, we simply verify qualifications and health and safety awareness as part of applications. We do find that sometimes applicants can no longer find historic qualifications to form part of their applications. In this scenario, individuals can submit an appeal to the CSCS Appeals Panel highlighting their specific circumstances and why they feel their application should be approved. For more information, please visit: www.cscs.uk.com/applying-for-cards/appeals/ or contact us via CSCS.uk.com/contact. Thanks

Hi there, Depending on your circumstances, you may want to consider the Provisional CSCS card. The Provisional card is for individuals working through probationary periods while employers assess their suitability for employment. It lasts for six months and is not renewable. You can only apply for a provisional card if you have not held a CSCS card before and this card can only be applied for once. Before it expires, Provisional card holders should achieve or be registered for a recognised construction related qualification and apply for the appropriate CSCS card for their job. Thanks
