Fly fisher living in Corsica, loving fishing all over the world ,my name is Ghjanto and i am presenting on this channel mostly fly tying tutorials of trout and grayling flies patterns (classic flies, wet drowned flies, nymphs for euro nymphing, dry flies, emergers ,streamers...) which are really effective wherever they have been tested , and very often in high fishing pressure rivers of southern Europe with educated and picky fishes.
Despite my many years of experience in fly tying, I always learn from others and nothing makes me happier than to inspire another fly tyer whether experienced or beginner.
As i don't speak during the video, please read the description where you can find the materials list , informations about the uses of the fly, how to tie it differently, how to fish with , on which rig, tippet, technic, ..and feel free to comment, to exchange ideas with me , i'll be glad to answser !
tight lines !

Different! I can see why it would work; but I wonder, why not tie in the tail and lay the body first? Just curious, thanks!
@GhjantoFlyFishing
@GhjantoFlyFishing 2 месяца назад
The last windings of thread to constitute the body must be overthe hackle to lower the fibers and give this "forward" looking : different for sure but it works ! Thank you so much for watching !

This, in my view, is a very well considered design and tying of a nymph that will catch wild/pressured fish using natural materials/colours…a great confidence fly…thank you very much for sharing your favourite 👍🏿

Hi Robert ! and thank you for your visit here and your appreciated comment ! take your time not to spoil this Coq de Leon feathers which are expensive ... i give you a tip to position them correctly: after tying the body create a thickness with the tying thread equivalent to that of the abdomen so that the fibers do not move apart and rise: because the goal here is to keep them stuck to the abdomen, there will be less grip and suspension on the water but the fly will have less volume and can easily imitate something else than a caddisfly such as an exuviae for example...i think you mean the nail clipper(with angle) that i use , its very useful for cutting close to the fibers ! have a beautiful week ! Ghjanto

Jean-fernand
@GhjantoFlyFishing
@GhjantoFlyFishing Год назад

CDC in a dubbing loop in place of a hackle.wow .I like it .question " would I use a powder floatant because of the CDC?
@GhjantoFlyFishing
@GhjantoFlyFishing Год назад
I am glad Kenneth you like it i thank you ! to be honest ,i rarely grease my flies , the CDC in particular... but the powder could be interesting ... may i recommend you with this fly avoiding fast, bubbling waters, it is made for calms ,but it floats very well, so try not to grease it , after a few casts dry it with a kleenex, and after catching a fish rince it ,change you fly and let it dry in your fly patch ( that's the bad side of CDC... But it has so many advantages !) Thanks again for your visit and participation ! regards Ghjanto

Jean-fernand

Maybe the simplest solution would be to dub the body, wind the cdc, wind the partridge and whip finish. No fancy tools needed either ..
