Very nice looking fly. I'll bet it floats like a cork. Gonna try to spin a few of these up today. Thanks for the inspiration!!!

Hi David ! thank you very much for watching and commenting ! i am glad this fly inspire you ! i like to use deer's ear hairs to imitate legs of dry flies, because of the extra buoyancy it brings (compare to hare's ear or squirrel).. in association with the CDC wings cutted this way, yes it floats very well ! ...and also quite low if needed in the calms...this kind of olive CDC dry flies is my go to in the early season when there are no specific hatches ...let me know how it works locally ! thanks again ! best regards .🙏Ghjanto

Delectable. I have substituted the green Condor with a green Pheasant tail and it still looks great. You certainly produce some display-quality ties. Those Corsican trout are spoiled for choice. Will give this fly a try next Monday. Kind regards from down-under in NZ.

Hi John ! Nice to hear from you again ! last week end ,for the opening season , i've catched some nice browns with this dry fly ,at arround 11 AM, without seeing a specific hatch, except a few caddis...i am sure it works down there if you find the right size...thaks again John for beeing here...best regards

That is a nice fly, and your hands are fine btw. Just wonder why you wind the body in the reverse direction? Doesn't really matter I suppose, but winding herl in the same direction as the thread is naturally more secure unless you're ribbing it. I wonder what condor sub is? Turkey I guess. Makes a nice body.

thank you very much Callum ! glad you like the fly...To be honest i didn't know that windind the herl in the same direction that the thread is naturally more secure...the only thing i knew is is "counter" winding a rib,( in my opinion more for visibility than security...), but i am going to take care about that next time and i thank you a lot for this beautiful suggestion, that inspires me and will improve my tying technique ! i use the Veniard condor substitut a lot ,( must be also turkey) there are different , the barbels are longer, the herl is more supple...etc.. best regards !

@@GhjantoFlyFishing As you tighten the thread the material also tends to tighten. Also avoids that little jump that pops the last turn of herl slightly out of position. Not that the fish care!

try insert very little dry fly dubbing on top of the cdc loop, and use only half of the deer hair(1.5mm end part out, but pin side longer). chest will be thinner with softer longer hair(much easy to flatten and float better). my experience is use the Adam's way of tying (vertical to hook) but a parachute silhouette kills.
