Well they are much comments about Ai because for very long years she behaves the same as rejecting Shabani. Matter of fact Shabani is very patient with her . People that watches this channel for a long time can tell you.
If theres any chance Ai will mate again will be when Nene dies. Her mother has instilled her with so much guilt over Shabani and Ai sexual relationship and the birth of Annie. Nene really loves Shabani. He is the love of her life.

What is wrong with Ai? They must have her on birth control. She stuck with Shabani while NeNe was in the worst shape and everyone was so stressed. And now she’s up to her old tricks - I just want to sleep and eat! Anyway, I’m glad Shabani and Kiyomasa are playing again and the troop seems to be more relaxed.
So I followed the link below to see some pics of Nene,because story we are given is so positive yet what I seen was disgusting,she was on a bare concrete floor eating bits of food looking like she was drugged up,looking very down and out,and then I went to another pic and here she was laying on one sack on the bare concrete again,no straw no bedding no nothing,which is just what I thought might be really going on.This zoo is disgusting and if you think that is acceptable for an aged Gorilla that is in pain you have rocks in your head.This zoo needs to be shut down like the rest of them in that country,they clearly do not value any animal at all.I am disgusted and you can delete my comment if you wish,but it won't change the truth or the reality.
They did have one its Annie. Some have suggested Ai could be on birth control which might explain why she is’t interested in Shabani. It’s sad, she should already be raising her 2nd or 3rd baby by now. But maybe there are reasons she cant that the public don’t know about. 🤷♀️
I have been saying it for months that their diet is the same every day and for every meal. There is no fruit, nuts, vines, grass and or grains. In the wild Gorilla's eat at least 150 different varieties of food.
I saw them personally last may and I know they have plenty of food and variety with fruits, vegetables, yogurts etc etc . By the way different foods are served at different rooms and basement . Why don’t you complain about the Momotoro troop food ? One the worst zoo in Japan even by Japanese primate standards .

There are no other female's. And gentaro doesn't have anywhere to go, plus he is not ready for a mate yet. He is far too immature. He would be beating on her trying to show his dominance. Gentaro needs time by himself to mature. Then he will be ready for a female.
The situation in Japan with the individual zoos and ownership of the gorillas is complicated. International zoos and breeding programs will not ship gorillas to Japan. I say Japan needs to change make big changes if they want their gorillas to continue otherwise Japans gorillas will be no more
I opine that no wild animal should live in captivity, not even in a zoo. These apes look sad! 😢 it is like a human being forced to to live in a school bus his/her entire life!

Shabani has been persistently pursuing Ai unsuccessfully for 10 years. Now, Shabani is competing with his son Kiyomasa. But Ai has made it crystal clear that she has no interest in kind-hearted Shabani. Kiyomasa will be 12 (11/1/12) so it is normal for him to challenge his dad. Japan desperately needs bachelor pads 4 their young silverbacks!
