This transposition is not done correctly. You can see that at the end the trumpeter is playing a D(concert C), but the music reads an E.

I don't understand the hype about mahler 2, it's like he's trying to be dramatic and powerful as Rachmaninoff but never secedes

Mahler wrote his 2nd symphony before Rachmaninov wrote most of his repertoire, so he wasn’t trying to compete with Rachmaninov

I am surprised Copland wrote those rests out and that he didn't just put caesuras there. Although, if you want someone to be tacet for 3 bars, you have to write it out.
