This piece (noted Posthumous) is in the running for one of the darkest pieces ever written. The key of C-Sharp minor used in this piece reflects many feelings, which include eternal sadness, melancholy, shame, depression, and many more. But the occasional hint of hope when it modulates to major gives a sense of warmth and home. This piece isn’t very difficult but it requires lots of musicality, which is displayed perfectly through Bruce Liu’s playing.
Piece: Nocturne in C-Sharp Minor, B.49
Composer: Frédéric Chopin
Performer: Bruce Liu

There are some discrepancies between his playing and the score; are there multiple versions? e.g. 1:46

Yes, there are. Almost every performer of this piece has their own stylistic additions.

Yes there are at least 2 versions. One version switches to 3/4 at measure 21 where as the other stays in 4/4. Both known as KK IVa Nr. 16

I am curious about what discrepancy you find. Is it that the triplet (aba) in the middle bar is played like one 1/8th and two 1/16th notes?

This is perhaps too delicate an interpretation. The playing is of high quality but I'm not moved

No, actually playing a piece like this with a lot of effort and emotion makes you sweat like this:) Every good pianist will tell you that. Look e.g. like Arrau plays slow parts of Beethoven's sonatas.

Different versions of this piece have different interpretations and notations on different scores. Bruce Liu is one of the best pianists alive, I think he can change a couple things if he wants.

He's literally the ICC gold winner, if that doesn't qualify him to play Chopin idk what does.
