Debbie Evans is considered one of Hollywood's top stunt women. Debbie has won 7 Taurus World Stunts Awards, one of the highest acknowledgements in her industry. She has also been inducted into the American Motorcyclist (AMA) Hall of Fame, The Hollywood Stuntman's Hall of Fame, along with many other awards and nominations. Debbie has been had an amazing career with many memorable pieces of work. A few of her most notable sequences were for Carrie Anne Moss, in Matrix Reloaded where she drove a Cadillac CTS and rode a Ducati 996 in the famous freeway chase sequence. Doubling for Michelle Rodriguez in the first Fast and Furious driving a car under a semi-truck, crashing and flipping it off the embankment into the field below. Awesome 👍 If motocross is the King of dirt bike racing, then trials is the Queen. I have always gravitated to the sure-and-steady method of getting from point A to point B on a dirt bike. This stunt reminded me of the time 3 cops were chasing me .. as I came up to a T Intersection. One behind me as I am going south to the T one was coming to the Intersection from the East and one was coming to the West.. I cut across a yard and 3 Cops cars almost collided into each other at the Intersection. I avoid all of that by going through the yard. There were people standing in the driveway so I waved to them. Then I had to meet other cars head on and they wanted to play chicken.. I came to another T- Intersection and Went North again.. They had a road block up so I stopped.. Me on my Yamaha GT-80 with a well ported GYT Kit Motor and 7 Cop cars and 14 Cops. I was 16 years old about 1977. Back in the good ole days when fleeing and eluding was only a Misdemeanor. Maybe I was watching too many TV Shows like Dukes of Hazard. Except Dukes didn't come out until 1979 ..
This is awesome debbie.. I've been into motorcycles and off road vehicles of all types and hot rods too. Also classic car restoration.. I admire your work and everything your doing.! Thanks for sharing a little bit of your life with this video.
I remember seeing pics of you in the 70's doing this, and happened to watch a video of AJ Catanzaro doing a slow race downhill. He let a bunch of guys go. He just stood still till they got to the bottom, then he went. I just posted on his site, that next time he should try the Debbie Evans Headstand!
The Evans girls are the real deal..... Their father was an instructor for IBEW Local 11 which I attended and this is how I meant them. Dave and I had some common interests, motorcycles and amateur radio.... I was invited to a trials bike event which led me to buying a Yamaha TY250D which I still have... I got involved on several levels of motorcycle enduro events with Dave... Dave began to get involved with bicycle riding with the Orange County wheelman.... The whole family got involved with that... They would make bets at each event and who would beat who and I always lost... Seems Donna would always be needling me about this and that... I did teach Donna how to drive a manual car transmission in my truck over at the Cerritos College parking lot, she was about 15 and was looking to get her drivers license soon.... anyway, to make a long story short, I was totally over my head with this bunch.... I knew there was something special going on here.... I am so glad that Donna and Debbie realized their dreams...So Talented.. I have lost touch with them except their mother Edna who would run into me at Lakewood City where I worked.... Unfortunately, Edna passed not long after .... What a sweet lady with very special young ladies.... I really enjoyed hanging with them for several years..... Real story, I can't make this stuff up....
Good to see this video of you Debbie. I rode Trials in San Diego back in the day when you competed too. I remember talking to you while warming my hands on cylinder of the Ossa I was riding then at our version of the 7 day trials in Ramona, snow all over! I made it half way thru the Armature class when I quit to go back to school. I started riding mtn bikes when I turned 68 and my Trials riding really helped boot strap that effort. Going to share this with a fellow mtn bike rider since I'm in the process of practicing track stands while the muddy riding trails dry out.
