Awesome 👍 If motocross is the King of dirt bike racing, then trials is the Queen. I have always gravitated to the sure-and-steady method of getting from point A to point B on a dirt bike. (Basically because I am too chicken to go fast :-) But it works, and often beats the whiz kids in tight, twisty trails through the woods. Cheers from Canada and have a Merry Christmas. 🎄🛷🪅⭐🪆🧸⛄🎅
I remember seeing pics of you in the 70's doing this, and happened to watch a video of AJ Catanzaro doing a slow race downhill. He let a bunch of guys go. He just stood still till they got to the bottom, then he went. I just posted on his site, that next time he should try the Debbie Evans Headstand!
Good to see this video of you Debbie. I rode Trials in San Diego back in the day when you competed too. I remember talking to you while warming my hands on cylinder of the Ossa I was riding then at our version of the 7 day trials in Ramona, snow all over! I made it half way thru the Armature class when I quit to go back to school. I started riding mtn bikes when I turned 68 and my Trials riding really helped boot strap that effort. Going to share this with a fellow mtn bike rider since I'm in the process of practicing track stands while the muddy riding trails dry out.
I saw a photo of this is a Motorcycle magazine years ago. So I started trying to see how long I could sit on my bike at a red light with out putting my feet down.. A few seconds is all I ever managed.. I suppose if I let some air out of my tires it would be easier..
