Welcome to our channel! We are a family of four living in Tennessee who live on a 6 acre homestead. Here you’ll find all things gardening, DIY, chickens, and anything else that needs to be done on the homestead. Our core family values revolve around making a home that cultivates each of our giftings to live our best lives. We hope you’ll follow along!
Interesting that these folks are talking about prepping for a catastrophic event, but I noticed the own two late model, computer controlled, fuel injected vehicles, which would become non useful as transportation in such an event. The van could be used as housing but, could not be relied upon as a source of transportation, if a major EMP event took place. Most people prepping give little thought to transportation. Looking to Western NC, in the aftermath of Helene, its obvious most of us need to consider owning an ATV of some sort, especially an ATV with a tow behind trailer, as ATVs and SXSs, proved their worth, when there suddenly were no roads, and only rough terrain in Western NC, as did farm equipment (Tractors and such) Having Food, Water, Emergency Supplies ( lighting etc), Shelter and Medical supplies are great focus items. Having an adequate form of transportation needs to be on that list as well.
Our little dream is coming to pass slowly. We’ve got 6 acres and the manufactured home will be delivered within the month as soon as the county permit is approved and I will be back there for good in January. Working in Arizona right now at my job, but hoping to, be there to start our Homestead and to RU-vid the progress as we go.😊. We will be in East Tennessee, and you’re right about dreams. We are dreaming big now. @Abundantgracehomestead. Love the videos and look forward to following your progress. God bless you guys.
Faithful farm stead what i used put in my garden beds is used coffee grounds thats only thing thatt kept cats and dogs out my freshly turned over flower beds i don't know if there is coffee shop but those shops usually give their used coffee grounds away free
Hi! Thank you for the video! My family hates the taste of vinegar in the canned foods and Im looking to see if there is a water bath option without vinegar. It doesn't look like you used vinegar in your recipe? Did you waterbath yours without vinegar for pantry long term (without frig)? Thanks fke the help!
Oh my stars, I think it’s a small world. Not sure if there is a way to directly message but I also know this family long time friends, literally putting my kids to bed after weekend with the whole family. *added* never mind I’m for sure. So cool to just cross paths on your page will definitely be watching some videos!
I used tordon rtu on some very invasive bamboo in my yard, i got back a strip 30 foot wide by 80 foot or so, planted watermelons in that spot just 2 years later... still have stragglers 5 years later..i just keep cutting out to kill it, but the tordon got the bulk of it. I just saturated the stumps as soon as i cut it... still pulling dead roots out.. bamboo hardly rots, and cant burn it because each node explodes like a tiny grenade...
I HATE these trees!! The thorns can go right through tires, animal feet, and shoes. I have been trying to eradicate these trees on our property for years now. The only way I have found is crossbow, but it is not available in all states and you have to be VERY careful not to get it close to other desirable trees. In that case you just have to keep pulling and chopping all of the root suckers that keep trying to come up and it takes years.
Just wanted to share something that my ladies go crazy over. Kerrygold 100% natural cheese. I cut a slice then cut it into small cubes. Minimally processed cheese is a great source of protein and calcium. Cheese is high in sodium,so you don’t want to over use it. As you do the clap to have them come running for their treat. I do a whistle. They come a running. I also use it as bait to round them up as they will follow me back into the protective run. Pimpen Eggs from Rich’ Bitches the best layers in town. 😂 I take great care of my ladies. They give me gorgeous high nutritional eggs that stand tall with a beautiful rich orange yolk.

I was originally looking for just tree removal estimates, but then came accross your video. Your thumbnail was what made me click, because this is EXACTLY the demon tree that we have in our backyard. And it's enormous. I've never seen anything like it before moving to our house. Thanks for the information. I'm going to start researching this a bit more.
Good luck! These trees are insane! Just an update, the leaves on the tree and the smaller ones are turning completely yellow. So this stuff is working. I am still not sure what I'm going to do with the big tree once I cut it down - it's going to be very tricky to handle! haha. Thanks for watching
I allow plants like broccoli and cabbage to grow after harvesting, next season before and during planting I uproot those plants and lay them on the garden at slug o clock. Early next morning I gather them and drown them and the slugs within in a deep container of water. It's very effective, low effort and cost free. Also the smell of these plants distracts slugs from your new seedlings.
Yes our 2 gallon galvanized metal one from tractor supply leaked as well after about a month. Wasn’t cheap either I think it was about $30. This is a better system.
My new favourites youtuber to watch 😄 ive binged watched lots of your videos and will definitely be looking forward to new released videos over time too!!! Btw found your channel by looking up "kids gardening" for my 3 year old, she loves the videos!!! Also you should try dehydrating slices of tomato with basil and salt on top. Its sooo good..a very enjoyable and addictive snack and so yummy in salads 🥗 pasta etc! I also love to dehydrate it in my dehydrator and than make that into "not so sundried tomatos" by mixing it with herbs and olive oil and putting it in a jar for a few days. Soooo yummy!!!! You could can it for longer storage too but I always eat it too fast lol. 😅 you can even use the left over tomato, oregano, basil etc flavoured olive oil in salads and pastas!!! So versatile and delish!!!
Would love to see your kids more in the videos!! My 3 year old always ask to watch your channel!! "Oh I want to watch the little girl harvesring with her Mama this time!" Thats what she says almost every day!
Awe that’s so sweet of your kiddos to ask! Our kids are getting older and don’t like being in front of a camera as much. So we totally respect that and never film them unless they want to be in the video with us. But they are usually somewhere close by helping!
@@FaithfulFarmstead I love this and totally respect that!!! Thankful we have old videos to watch for little miss to see you garden with your kids! She got so happy when she saw your son in a recent video too lol. But totally agree with you!! Respecting them is important if they don't wanna be infront of the camera.. we shall still enjoy watching each new release 😁
I have really enjoyed watching him and his daughters . I love listening to him sing . And his daughter is so precious . I hope everything works out for him with his other two daughters . All the stuff that is being said is bad and just hurting him and the girls But like he said he has a new wife and and a new life . And someday it will come to pass . Good luck.
I have been blanching my half runners for close to 30 yrs I did pressure can a few times but they just are to mushy for me yuck! I love my veggies a little crisp.. I don’t hardly ever buy can beans from store it’s usually frozen cuz we only cook a few for a few Mins and they have tht right amount of crisp to them so I am only gonna freeze this yr but I am torn about blanching or not blanching I plan on doing a few quart bags of blanched verse not blanched does anyone have any tips or opinions on one being better than the other I know ppl say blanch is best due to it kills off the bad enzymes and many other bad things (can’t remember what I heard lol)
Yes! So worth all the work 🙌 and those Squash Vine Borers are so annoying haha. You should give the Tromboncino Squash! We’ve absolutely loved it this year
Your Garden looks So Beautiful 🤩 My tomatoes didn’t produce as much as thought they should 🤔 I’m going to try the mulched leaves in my garden. My Pollinators weren’t visiting the garden as I had hoped… I hardly had anything buzzing around ( No Hummingbirds) 🤔 Zillions of those darn Mosquitoes & ticks🤦♀️ I didn’t even have Cicadas like other States did ( I’m in Ky) I could hear them on RU-vid homesteading videos, not here 🤔 Great Video, until the next one 😉💞🇺🇸
Howdy from your neighbor to the south in Tennessee! We've had SO many insects this summer, including the cicadas. And our garden didn't do as well as in past years, but we're looking forward to the next season. We always use mulched leaves in our garden. Great for the winter beds that are resting until the spring.
That’s so interesting that you didn’t have cicadas! I had some friends who are in newly developed areas not have cicadas. And such a bummer you didn’t have as many pollinators. The beautiful thing about gardening is that you get another try next year ♥️
If you flick the flower a few times it helps pollinate them!! 😊 if you have the time ofc. Just walk around with a coffee in one hand and your fingers or an electric toothbrush that's dedicated to pollinating in the other hand
