We are the Millers and we come from a long line of Amish descendants. Both of our parents grew up Amish, but later left and decided it wasn't the lifestyle for them. It took only one generation removed from this lifestyle to lose so much of what our ancestors thought of as "normal." Our goal is to help people grow their own food and become more self sufficient. We recently bought a 6 acre Farmstead and we are so excited to share this journey with you! Please subscribe to see how we turn this piece of abandoned land into a thriving homestead!

It's fun when you leave some of the bloopers in. :) I'm happy your garden is doing better than you thought it would. I may just try that hedge idea.

I'm in N. MS and last yr I grew Clemson Spineless and Burmese Okra. The Burmese WAY out performed the Clemson. I saved the seeds from the Burmese and planted those this yr. They are already producing and are only 1 ft tall. The Burmese can get a lot longer before they get tough and woody and they branch off, instead of just getting super tall. I also love fried okra but I found a really good okra and tomatoes recipe that is to die for on " how to feed a loon". He shares a trick to reduce the "slime" too. I just subscribed to your channel since we are in a very similar growing climate...I've only been gardening for about 3 yrs. I'm sure you can teach me a lot. I really enjoyed the garden tour today.

I think trap plants are good to grow. Wither they are domestic or wild. If you find a plant the "pest" like best, grow them just to keep the pests away from those you want to harvest from.
