This is exactly I was looking for. Great job, thank u very much ❤ I’m looking for vanilla vibe, vanilla two and berskyr are super fit to me! Keep it up ⚡️
Man Azurite Horizons wins in most of these categories but Dawnfire is just perfect for the rainy weather! The only thing I think I would change in Azurite Horizons is maybe have a darker night mod on and then it could be just perfect.
Most of the animators of the sprints need to watch some actual sprinters at the Olympics or whatever... *_Nobody_* sprints leaning forward after the first couple of seconds (unless they're sprinting into a hurricane or so of course)
I've been trying to get the Narakabladepoint to run for a while now but I seriously don't know how to use it or even know if its there, I did everything as stated for installation (Nemesis, Open Animation Replacer, AMCO, etc.) But for the lift of me I don't know how to even know if it works :(
Thank you! It's so nice to get a comparison video for us non-enb users, too. :) Beautiful, as always. Now it's time to take out my notebook and start the comparisons.
ELFX Shadows and Ambience both bring back the old school, rustic Skyrim vibes which I love. It captures the atmosphere and mood in each setting without being too drastic.
Thank you for the comparisons. It's so helpful to see the differences and how each mod alters the game. For me I wish I had a combo of Windows Shadows RT and Ambience. These two, imo, offer the best direct lighting and contrast for the player to assess depth and distance, while maintaining a sense of actual lighting sources. It must have taken a lot of work for all these mods to set up the light sources and effects. Kudos to all of them and to you for the effort to highlight them.
As usual, your work, comparisons, editing, and music is perfection. Of the ones showcased, Window Shadows Ultimate (stand alone - NG) to me is superior. I do think Lux is magnificent, BUT, the major caveat is that it needs dozens upon dozens of patches. But maybe I am doing it wrong, but I have a mix of Azurite ENB based on Silent Horizons Universal Core, Azurite Weathers, then Skyrim is Luminous, Window Shadows Ultimate, Dynamic and enhanced dynamic lighting, light limit fix and EVLAS ... the fps is excellent and the shadowing is spot on.... now maybe I have no idea what I am doing and I don't need that many lighting combos - but it seems to work. So I would LOVE to have or see a vid from you highlighting combinations... I KNOW its a lot of work... but, again, maybe I am wrong, but I think its not just ENB, or non-ENB, but a combination of lighting systems.. and THAT is what we are trying to unlock as the perfect combination :)
Have you tried that combo with Community Shaders instead of ENB? That's my current setup, and my GPU and eyeballs agree that it's amazing. Previously, I was a Rudy ENB+ Obsidian Weathers + Lux fanboy, but after a while, the juice isn't worth the squeeze.
I used to be a champion of Community Shaders before I got ENB to work. Maybe one day it will rival ENB in quality as well as fps superiority... but atm, its not even close.

This video is super helpful, because there is almost no other sources for comparing "LUX" and "ELFX Shadows" directly. It does very well show some of the shortcomings of LUX when it comes to atmosphere and immersion. I really appreciate your comparisons lately, even though sometimes you obstruct too much of the screen with the labels (ENB comparison) or use unhelpful camera angles (water comparison). But you seem to listen to viewer's critique in the comments, and this will lead to even better content. Thank you, you got one more subscriber.
Thank you so much for making these!!!!! Cannot thank you enough, seriously. I can't imagine how much work it takes to make something like this. I do have a question -- do you have any torch mods or recommendations to compliment these lighting mods? I already have some and am currently having issues with buggy pixels with shadows (I'm workshopping it lol)
Thank you for your comment! I'm really glad the videos were helpful :) Honestly, while creating videos about ENB, I discovered some fascinating mods. One of my favorites is Embers XD, which transforms the appearance of campfires and other fire sources. I haven't tried it without ENB yet, though!
i was just about to try the ominous patch to luminous b/c by itself is a little bright (like vanilla you dont need torches or spells) but seeing this without enb i might give the others a shot as well next playthrough (in the middle of a good one)
You are doing a huge favour to the modding community by making those videos, thank you! 🔥 I wonder which combination of lighting/weather/ENB you use? Lux/Obsidian/Rudy for Obsidian is still my go-to.
Thank you for your kind comment! I'm really glad the videos were helpful. Honestly, it’s been a while since I played Skyrim like I used to, but for a long stretch, I was using Rudy ENB with Cathedral Weathers and ELFX
I used RLO since LE days and later I often tried various others including LUX as the last one. For me, the Ambiance and Luminosity Lightning Overhaul are more realistic and lightweight than others. I don't consider Window Shadows RT as a lightning mod because it only focuses on light coming in from windows and all other lightning sources and bulbs are ignored (e.g. in comparision, see that no candles or any other light source have luminous effect around them or on surface and walls around them.).
@@pixelstoryzzz I have tried it and...not good. It also seems RLO has got an update after a long time, so, looking forward to it. I use Obsidian weathers as base to build around a desired atmosphere. So, Obsidian Weathers + Rudy for Obsidian Weathers + Lux Via + EVLaS + Ambiance with Relighting Skyrim/Luminosity Lighting Overhaul/RLO would give a nice balanced result and if I would change my mind and would like to sacrifice even a bit more fps, I would use LUX and LUX Orbis instead of before mentioned.
This is an awesome comparison! Actually all your videos are amazingly simple, precise, and elegant. I only wish you had included Nordwind ENB. Otherwise, perfect comparison between some the most used ENBs!
ELFX+SHADOWS+HARDCORE is what I use because it makes dungeons pitch black as they should be, but Lux is looking pretty good too in this video. But WHY does it remove the bear head in the Bits and Pieces store?? lol
Really like Cabbage, Dawnfire, Pi-Cho. Ominous and Azurite look great but are opinionated, and Kauz's night shot is incredible. Skyrimse re-engaged has a few standout shots. We're spoiled for choice.
4:05 This made me realize that having a full canopy over your head is both rare even for the most popular tree mods and very impactful for feeling in a real forest. Lots of tree mods make them taller but if you look up you still see the sky. eg blubbos Aspen replacer
This is one area of ENB that I struggle with. I love Azurite in everything. But the lighting on my characters are - unpolished - lots of cross hatching, shadings wrong... I don't know whether it is the skin, or the shaders, or bad settings... environment is to die for - perfection,... but the character in it don't match the perfection. Follow all your videos and comparisons... I just don't know what is do's and don'ts of ENB regarding characters.
I have been using Vivid Weathers for like a decade and its still great but Rustic in this video looking the best with that thicc rain, fog, and blizzard!
I haven't played Skyrim in a while like I used to, but I used Rudy ENB for a long time. Mods like NAT III and Silent Horizon II serve as a core for other ENBs to achieve their best appearance, although they can also be used separately :)
Obsidian is overrated. It doesn’t look like it does in the vid. Rain does and that’s about it. I’ve never noticed the rays during sunrise. Dolomite is so much better.
