I hope by "responsibility" for building their own individual parts just meant financially. I find it logistical nightmare if not one centralized company wasn't overseeing the project.
Plus if these trains are going to be electric, as they are in Europe and Japan, I don't think that our D+ rated power grid could handle the load. Each TGV can consume tens of millions of watts.
Speaking of North American subway construction… Are y’all getting ready to do a vid of LA Metro’s D Line construction once it gets even closer to completion? If not lumping the K Line LRT between their E(xpo) Line & a ways south of LAX (going to Torrance sooner or later AND likely replacing existing C Line service as soon as said LAX corridor opens)?
Maybe like a termite mound, a mile wide, and a 500m building on top. But where to find that many +100ton granite blocks, even if you make airships to carry them?
I didn't understand the statement that elevated tracks are often lighter and narrower than standard or underground tracks, as all three are almost universally Standard Gauge (which has the rails 4 ft 8.5 inches apart) in the United States and many other countries. (BART is the sole noteworthy exception in the USA, using a 5 ft 6 inch broad gauge.)
It's a counter to a new technological advancement that would blow your mind. Essentially radar detection for the latest development in matter displacement (which is a substitute for propolsion. Almost undetectable unless you can detect neutrinos which are a biproduct of said process. I've reached my limits. Look it up. There's a whole military base buried under the ice in the south pole, of course American. And it seems our closest allies are being put on to the technology. Ok I'll stop now. 🫡🤐 🫣
There’s also been plans for extending the Rail Baltica under the gulf of Finland to connect the city of Helsinki to the network. That would be huge thing and huge project.
If they really want to undo the architectural crime commited in the 60s they need to rebuild the original Penn Station and for people Who are feeling sad for MSG it has been moved several times before so one more time wouldn't hurt
