To access that storage, you’ll need to keep the drive plugged in. If you disconnect it, your available storage will revert to the PS4’s internal capacity. Hi, Please be aware that we cannot guarantee that you can play the movies form ps4, but here you have some steps that you can try: If you have movies on an external hard drive and format it, all data on the hard drive will be deleted. Formatting erases everything from the drive. However, you can still use the formatted hard drive with your PS4 to store new movies. To play movies from the formatted hard drive on your PS4, follow these steps: Format the Hard Drive: Connect the external hard drive to your computer. Format it using either the exFAT. Make sure it follows the same file structure as a USB stick Add Movies to the Hard Drive: Create a folder on the hard drive and place your movie files inside it. Ensure the video files are in a supported format (e.g., MP4) Remember that the PS4 won’t recognize individual files; they must be organized in folders. Connect to PS4: Plug the formatted hard drive into one of the PS4’s USB ports. Go to the Media Player app on your PS4. Navigate to your videos within the app to play them. So if i put Jurass World evolution 2 data and stuff on the external drive, and plug into my laptop i can play it directly? So only the game itself is on the laptop there but all files are on the external drive?

I am the one to say in 2024 your ps4 cannot handle 10 games if you have 500gb it can take, it can hardly take 6 games if you can count the Playroom as a game

@@seagate why would I want to contact Seagate? In my 40+ years as a computer repair technician, Seagate has been of zero help. Seagate policy is for me to send in a defective drive only to be replaced with another refurbished defective drive which fails shortly after I install it. So now I've lost shipping money from N.C. to California and still am not whole. Imagine my surprise when discovering a program called HD Sentinel 9 years ago. I used it to determine why my media server was freezing and rebooting. I found 9 bad hard drives. 8 of them were Seagates!!!! 3 of them were brand new 3TB Seagates. Does the 3TB class action lawsuit bring up a memory for you???? Well, rather than waste my time I threw them all in the trash and ordered replacements from your major competitor. None of those have failed to this day years later!!! So, unless you are willing to send me a check for the $2000 I lost, I don't want to hear your pitiful attempts at caring or face saving. You have lost me forever as a customer. I own a computer service company and will not allow your products in my company. Better yet, I tell everyone I meet what my experience has been. I have a question... If you turned off the ps4 then unplug the hard drive from the ps4 and it has some games, what happens if I plug it again when I turn on the ps4 ? Wiil the games will be downloading or I can access them instantly?
