Thank you Sofro for this enriching biography. Arrau was a profound and marvellous pianist. I feel very proud that he, as long as he lived had a very special connection to Berlin. As to Martin Krause, I'm not quite sure, but I think he was not the teacher of Edwin Fischer. Thank you!

At last, we have a conductor who truly understands the poetry of Debussy, (as exemplified also in by Sergiu Celibidache) ! The tempi and, most notably, the legato between the phrases are executed without the typical aggressive sound often produced by other conductors who downplay the climactic moments and especially the culmunating points. Cluytens' legato beautifully captures the essence of subtle nuances through its vector of expressive communication. A special thank you to Sofonichhrist for providing this live concert video !

Quel charme il donne à cette Pastorale ! Un régal ! Quant à l’opus 111 live (dont il faut oublier et même effacer, la version studio) il lui confère une dimension dramaturgique impressionnante, saisissante, surtout dans le premier mouvement, dans l’arietta tout aussi magnifique on pourra peut-être lui préférer Haskil, mais on est ici ou là dans l’admirable, le gigantesque !
@@alombredeslava2468 Merci pour votre commentaire :) J’ai mis du temps à apprécier le studio de Sofronitsky mais il possède une hauteur de vue admirable à mes yeux. Quant à Haskil bien que j’apprécie énormément son Opus 111 - à Ludwigsbourg, disponible chez SWR, très particulier mais assez fabuleux je trouve. Évidemment la Pastorale de Sofronitsky est ma version de chevet, aux côtés de Gould et Backhaus. L’opus 111 de 1952 est gigantesque en effet, nous sommes d’accord :)
@@babaaurhum1 Grand merci pour votre commentaire ! En revanche, je ne saurais pas vous dire de quel piano il s’agit, malheureusement (mais en effet le son n’est pas ni brillant ni très rutilant, ce qui est très agréable d’ailleurs, et convient bien à la souplesse du jeu de Lazare-Lévy).
Il y a quelque chose d’enivrant dans cette interprétation, qui vous capte, vous emporte irrésistiblement. Peu, très peu sont ceux ayant atteint un tel degré d’enchantement.

The Brahms 3.is my beloved symphony of all Brahms Subfinued ,I know Schuricht,Walter,Szell,Horenstein ,Rosbaud and also Klemperer and this early 3.from Hambourgh I’d also a geme,wonderful played and Jochum is an an wonderful sensible but also energetic conductor like Schuricht from 1962 with SWF.I buy this CD Ir the old Telefunjen LP.
