Hi, I'm Claire! I'm a full-time travel blogger who focuses on overland journeys (planes, trains and boats are my jam), lesser touristy destinations and I also post about South West England, which is where I live. I split my time between the South West and travel, when I take my work with me on the road.

On this channel, expect vlogs from my different trips (including train, bus and boat vlogs), local tips for exploring South West England (I know Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Bristol really well) and travel tips and hacks that I've uncovered after travelling for six years, to over 60 countries - many of them solo.

I'm passionate about uncovering people's stories and love finding interesting, thought-provoking angles to destinations around the world - but I also don't take myself too seriously and love injecting a dash of humour into my videos.

Do stick around, hit the subscribe button, and drop me a comment!

Thanks for stopping by!

I went to the islands in Semporna last July 2023, it was safe & sound. A family from Germany stayed 3 days & 2 nites in the chalets on an island off Semporna town & they enjoyed themselves there. If you listen too much from the hoax news, you'll missed the chance to experience the fantastic experience of snorkelling watching the sea creatures yrself as you dive.xx

It’s ignorant to come to Morocco looking for Middle Eastern food. Moroccan culture, history and cuisine is African thus different the Middle East The Moorish (Moroccan) was never under the occupation of the Ottoman (Turkish) empire. The Ottoman Empire that extended from Turkey to Algeria explains why those countries eat a similar cuisine Moroccan traditional cuisine is Amazigh like Tajine and Couscous

Hello Miss Claires; That is not the real Morocco, you should know that not as a "journalist" or a lover of the kingdom's culture. simply for dignity, education and culture, which is taught so much in the Western world. The real Morocco is in the Atlas Mountains and in deep Morocco, where the Moroccans who live in those mountains completely separated from civilization are not recognized. The big cities are the focus and media and theatrical attention. but they will never be the mirror or the reference of true Moroccans. To whitewash a disguised dictatorship is to be complicit in many negative things that do not make any social progress in the country. He really enjoys trips to the Kingdom of Hypocrisy.

You should change your video title about single women traveling to Morocco like Morocco is not safe that's very ignorant because Morocco is one of the safest countries More safe than your country and Morocco is one of the oldest Kingdom after Japan and Morocco was an empire before there was America this's why Morocco was the first country to recognized the United States Independent also Moroccan women are one of the most beautiful in the world so if you think that your going to be harassed because you're pretty I hate to disappoint you You're not so stop you white people act like you better you're nothing!

OMG WHAT A TIME WASTING VIDEO - A whole UNREALTED LOAD OF WAFFLE that has NOTHING TO DO WITH BOOKING with 3rd PARTY WEBSITES. WAFFLE WAFFLE Please LOOK DOWN the LENS, NOT THE SCREEN, It loses viewer engagement, Just because you had a bad experience with ONE company doesn't mean EVERYONE should STOP using EVERY 3rd party site FOREVER. I have used many many many many times and NEVER had any issues. You can actually save a fortune. READ THE SMALL PRINT, KNOW THE RULES and you'll be fine. The issues come when people book, then want to make loads of changes and add extras. (which is NOT ALWAYS a problem). I booked through a 3rd party for China Eastern and then booked my extra leg room seats and bags DIRECT with the airline. Also all those issues you had going through immigration and security were NOTHING to do with booking through a 3rd party ticket seller DOWN THUMBED and CLICKED NEVER RECOMMEND THIS CHANNEL AGAIN!!
@ClairesFootsteps
@ClairesFootsteps День назад
Thanks for the engagement, helps boost me in the algorithm so no worries that you won't be recommending the channel! Yes, I do need to look down the lens more, thanks for the reminder. Not sure if you make videos or have ever tried any new skill out yourself, but it takes a while to get into the habit of these things. Happy to hear you've had good experiences with third party booking platforms and have saved loads of money! I shared a couple of other bad incidents that I've had in the video, and there are more. In this instance, I didn't receive an email from Kiwi.com until long after my flight departed, so would have effectively been stranded in Barcelona if I missed my flight. I have checked the TS&C's, but I don't believe non existent customer service featured. In fact, I remember reading that they'd respond in a couple of hours! I wasn't blaming immigration delays on the booking platform, or even the airport. I was just sharing my journey and mentioning what it was like. It was a long, arduous journey otherwise and vlogging made it a bit more fun. 🙂 I wish you many more successful journeys!

We,the people of Sarawak and Borneo are the safest place in the whole of Malaysia The federation of Malaysia is made up of three countries. 1. Malaya or West Malaysia made of small states like Perlis, Kedah,Malacca,Perak, Johore, Penang. . . 2. North Borneo or Sabah 3. Sarawak which is the size of West Malaysia Sarawak has the majority of Christian and NO official in Sarawak under the 18 points plan MA63. We share same table with Muslims and non muslims in Sarawak. Multi racial marriage is the norm. Please don't be mislead by those crooks . You can see orang utan,feed them and is only 12 miles from City centre. We love Sarawak and English is widely spoken too. Other languages spoken are Chinese, Bahasa Bangku Malaysia,local Malay, IBAN,Bidayuh, Lun Bawang,etc,etc. The only place where Church and mosque are built side by side,one in Miri and one in Kuching,it's just unique and Kuching is a clean city Puji Tuhan👍👍😘😘 Praise God👍👍😘❤️

In fact, Malaysia is safer for tourists to visit. Malaysia is known as one of the main world tourism destinations in Southeast Asia. Malaysia is famous for its diversity, KL as a modern and sophisticated city with the best public transport system in Southeast Asia. Malaysia has the best education system and medical health system in Southeast Asia. Malaysia especially KL is also the best shopping center in Southeast Asia with the price affordable items. Malaysia is also a food paradise with a variety of food tastes from all over the world, Malaysian citizens who are highly disciplined, polite, friendly and hospitable.

Pretty much missing out on a huge part of Malaysian Borneo if you haven't visited Sabah's 'sibling', Sarawak. While there are less resorts, there are many opportunities to authentically experience local culture such as staying in modern or traditional longhouses, or experiencing local cuisine straight from their kitchens. There's also the Cultural Village in Kuching, the Cultural Museum and the Rainforest Music Festival which attract thousands of tourists every year. It's also safe to roam around, the only securiy issue you'll face are with crocodiles 🐊

As a Moroccan man,who travels a lot in Europe, the us and asia, I can say that a lot of major capitals can feel and be dangerous, not only for women but for everyone. People often assume that countries in the South are very dangerous, but this is generally a misconception. Annoying men who harass women exist everywhere; in fact, the club and drinking culture is more prominent in the West and northern countries than in Morocco or those with Amazigh/Arab-Muslim cultures. While certain areas in Casablanca at night can be uncomfortable for women, it doesn't mean that all of Morocco is unsafe for solo female travelers.
@ClairesFootsteps
@ClairesFootsteps 2 дня назад
Thanks for your comment, I agree with that - there's definitely harassment in Europe - that's where I've experienced it most. This video aims to challenge this misconception and provide first-hand advice to solo female travellers. It is important that we do research everywhere we go, as the world in general is more dangerous for women than men, unfortunately. But I felt very safe in Tangier.
@Nocturno300
@Nocturno300 2 дня назад
@@ClairesFootsteps Sadly the World is not only dangerous for women, but hard too, but that's another topic. If you go to Marrakech, keep a fresh and cold bottle of water with you, the last time i took my friends from England to Marrakech, 2 of them fainted cause of the heat then they all fainted of love to the city hhhh. Have a safe and great time in Morocco and anywhere you go! The video was great.
