Hello neighbor 👋 long time no see! I bought the M1 to learn code stuff, I try to learn everywhere, so I think it's a good choice for a first laptop when you move around. When I'm at home I use an external monitor + my laptop monitor and I like a minimalist desktop setup, so I only use the M1 keyboard and trackpad. I'm hoping to get a job in IT one day so I'm upgrading my laptop to a 16" so I can compare later what was better :) Happy coding everyone!
What do you think about React Native? I have built a few websites using Next.js and am now considering building an iOS app. I’d love to make some money from it, like you. Are there any disadvantages if I build the app with React Native? I’m having trouble deciding between Swift and React Native.
How can we brainstorm and generate new innovative App ideas? I consider myself a good developer, but I always struggle to generate App ideas which is the most important part of generating revenue from indie app development 😶
Yes, if you already know it, no if you are starting from scratch and have to learn it. I would go with Kotlin MultiPlatform if I need a cross-platform app.
Ask yourself why you need iOS and Android. Doing both greatly increases the amount of work for a solo dev. A better strategy may be to focus on iOS. Get it working, get it shipping. See if it sells. If it doesn't sell, move on. Don't make the Android version. If it sells really well, then consider doing an Android version, or getting someone to write a port for you.
I worked for a Startup/Company where I built Apps with nearly your Stack. Flutter (wouldn't recommend it anymore) Firebase Revenuecat We had like Idea to MVP in around 1-2 weeks. Most of them were just Smoke Tests where we checked if the user installs the app and then if the user also "buys" via the Paywall. If users really bought we just refunded them (and said we have some bugs in the app as there was nothing available after the onboarding & paywall) but we got confirmation that it is worth to built a real MVP for that topic. That way you knew if users are interested but also willing to spend money for that idea/problem. One example was alcohol Super interesting to built these keyword focussed small apps :) loved the time with the company but I had to cut that job to focus on some other work. Maybe I go back to doing that myself though like you as the revenue per month can be quite nice.
If you are updating variables and functions while testing I think it is very helpfull, cause you can see places of code instantly avoiding some mind mess through it
Sorry, I didn't understand how the free community with free courses inside it is not free. I do not ask about "private data." Use single-use email to access it if that is your problem
Just USB-C for the "web camera". I have Cmalink HDMI somwhere, but do not use it anymore. Rode Streamer X captures camera and XLR micraphone when I need them, USB-C in Sony cameras works just fine for webcam mode.
Hey Aivars, I've been working on an iOS app and would love to show you what I've done! Any chance I could share it with you? Would be awesome to hear your thoughts!
Hey! My opinion doesn't really matter if I'm not a target audience of the App. You should get feedback from your users. If you still want to get feedback from me and other indie app developers, we help each other with feedback and support in Indie App Accelerator mastermind calls: www.skool.com/indie-app-accelerator
Hi from Klaipeda. Nice setup as always. for what you use Trackball mouse? i wanted to buy the same in 2020, but decided to go for Logi MX3. Did extenssive researsch - found its not really good for thumb working wiht it long hours. And later i found Kensington Expert Mouse Wireless Trackball - plan to mix usage it with Mx3. But i think where track ball could be youseful - is it more for video creating?
Hi, bralukas! I had light RSI symptoms for a while ago and now switching mouse models from time to time to keep it away. I'm slower with a ball mouse, MX3 with a side scroll is more handy for video editing.
The AirPods Max are the worst choice you can make. First, they’re heavy, and you’ll notice that after wearing them for more than two hours. Their headband mesh degrades over time. The biggest drawback is that they produce moisture inside the cups, leading to sound distortions and possible connection issues. This is a design flaw, and Apple’s solution is to advise customers to wipe the moisture every couple of hours, which is ridiculous. These were the reasons I sold my AirPods Max less than a month after purchasing them.
The new one is Sony ZV-E10 II That's a good one to upgrade from the iPhone. From the cons, I have to mention that it hasn't built-in stabilization for the sensor. So you need a lens with stabilization built in, and there are not so many of them available. The one that comes in the box if you buy a kit with a lens, has it.
