British Army Assualt boots are awesome, don't wear them airsofting, they combined weigh a stone and unless you've got a nicely worn I set will cut you up good. also later production ones (after the British Army stopped using them, Spanish made specifically, I think) have some issues with the soles, worn my last set out once and the rubber literally dissolved so if getting a set check the year and where they were made
you need the apropriate inner baarrel. best way to test is get 2 lambda barrels. there's lambda barrels with patches preinstalled and standard inner barrels. i use a lambda one in my sr25 and the volume is matched to .36's and the accuracy at range is great and i ccan soam it like im using the m14 acog in mw2 2009
I am really tempted about the molle webbing lbv osprey version... (Not the plate carrier). I thought about running mod loops for belt loops to attach my gun belt as well by weaving the mod loops through the bottom row of the molle of the osprey lbv... hanging down these mod straps would link up to my belt like seen on other assault vests including my Mil-Tec modular system in O.D which is holding my IDOGEAR bison belt replica. Thought about doing this for a fall, winter, arid, desert, farmland & dead vegetation loadout in north america.
@@AnvilAirsoftTV noted! I may go the way of the Dutch modular vest or something instead or even an American FLC for a more low profile 2nd setup that's still somewhat in the assault vest/ops vest family.
@@AnvilAirsoftTV thank you for the advice. I was trying to do research & really narrow down my best options in my head in the surplus assault vest molle compatible searching world it's an older idea.
There are British companies like dragon, troopers and jay jays that make quality patrol yokes like the ones you are describing. Might be worth a look at their websites.
It’s very hard to get the authentic items and even then a lot of the more accessible ones are poor reproductions. We do these to look good from 10 metres away. Thankyou for understanding our intent.
Really looking forward to enjoying manky green surplus with you - it's your uniform videos that enticed me into the channel in the first place so excited to hear you'll be focussing on that from now on.
My favourite the E&C Xm177 without forward assist. So that is GAU-5 series, first AR in US service (predates XM16) and still in service. Plus it’s a “smg” in 5.56. 😉 I do need to miss stamp the fire selector with BRUST to make it look more CCT issue.
I run a mix of battle belt as well as a plate carrier, however as for the plate carrier I typically use it to carry a small haver sack and my radio on the back and on the front a tertiary pistol with an extra mag, one storage pouch for comestibles and the like and a dual long magazine pouch for my Mac 10 magazines, on my belt I carry four or five dual magazine pouches for a total of about eleven or thirteen magazines in total, on my left, on my back left and center I carry two grenade pouches, next to them on my right I have a dump pouch and next to that a first aid pouch and lastly four additional ancillary pouches for well just about anything I need, be it snacks, additional grenades, batteries or whatever I can keep it all on me whenever I’m in the field, that being said I’ll only use the plate carrier if I’m expecting to be in a very long game such as NAF,
It’s a sort of unspoken law really in the world of military, which is kinda weird and sad considering that yes having the most powerful, most accurate and highest ammo capacity rifle available is great and all but it’s not exactly useful if the poor bastard ends up keeling over from exhaustion or is trapped in some brambles all because his equipment wasn’t working or fitted properly
Suppressors on real steel (with few exceptions) don't reduce the "crack", they reduce the "bang". the "crack" is the sonic boom of the ammo (there are a few suppressors, like the one in the MP5SN that reduce the speed of otherwise supersonic ammo). *Typically* you are correct regarding the reduction (deafening is reduced to "very loud"); but it depends on the gun and the suppressor. There *are* examples of "Hollywood quiet" rigs. But yes, usually the point of a suppressor on real steel is to protect hearing (less ear required); and there are benefits to "did you hear that shot a mile over there? let's go find the shooter and kill him".
@@AnvilAirsoftTV I think you guys did great. The issues I'm responding to are, in the scheme of things, quite minor; and what you said is far closer to reality than the movie stereotype you are debunking. :)
When I joined up as a boy soldier in 72 we got the plain green two pocket work/fatigue jacket, plus DPM 68 patterns, they were very well made and ironed to a drill pigs delight. They were OK but not great for field soldiering, most got exceeding tailored so we looks Puka for the local girls :) but heavy as hell when soggy.. The 80s stuff was obviously made to the cheapest tender and was considerred water soluable, many lads got quite upset when they tried to take our 68s off us. The 90 pattern smock was far more useful, practical, very well made, a looser cut than the 68 pattern allowing for better flexibility and cargo carrying whilst retaining some style :) . The Soldier 95 abandoned all efforts at "style" or barrack dress chique but was bloody well made from a fabric good choice, pockets etc were well sown together. Its a PROPER combat smock SYSTEM designed with 100% utility in mind, but generally looked like a sack on the squaddie. And it did not blouse nicely as preferred by many regiments. Being Poseurs as well as squaddies we usually sewed down the upper chest pocket bellows , even occasionally doing to bottom pockets as well. Hated wearing DPM pants, often went with either Barrack dress trs in camp or Green lightweights with sewn in creases. I still wear my 90 pattern today but I would love to get a 95 pattern loose cut smock in xxl, none to be had. BTW RESPECTS for not wearing berets and kit you did not earn. Cede Nullis.
RADAR REDCAR marketed their DPM smock as an SAS Smock, they also did an artic version and a SBS and Mountain version at one point. They also did somthing that had masses of pockets which was called the Sniper smock IIRC. Oh and they often did BLACK versions
I always wondered how air enters a non-ported cylinder. Does air enter through the nozzle end or from the rear? It seems as bb is loaded into the hopup, the bb would block air from entering the cylinder.
thank you SO MUCH i tried and tried to find out the difference between a standard flat and r hop for so long. i wasnt satisfied with “r hop is better” i wanted to know WHY its better and this video very clearly taught me that
Someone needs to buy every brand that isn't found at thicks or Big 5 and test them all side by side with the exact same weight. If you use different weights since not every brand makes above a 32. That's cheating.
Pretty much the good ones aside from Bushido are all made by BLS then rebranded. Some brands have additional quality control and bottle themselves from bulk supplies.
our milsim events allow as far as 370fps with a .30g bb. and 385fps with a .28 in outdoor games, apply the 1.9J limit. your 1.2J regulation is just... sad
Excellent video on Market Garden era British airborne kit and gear. Just a month ago I visited the Arnhem battlefields and on local museums I got the chance to see authentic British gear.
The realistic operation and classy look of a GBBR is an attractive advantage, but the difficulty of maintenance, difficulty in purchasing repair parts, and very high prices are definitely disadvantages. The advantages of DAS are not necessary for survival games. There are so many alternatives that it's not even worth it.
I was really surprised by Bushido BBs 0,32 gr. (bio). Definitely better then BLS 0,36 (also bio)!! Now I am thinking about Bushido 0,40 for my DMR... thanks for this review!!
I wonder what happens in auto when trigger is left when piston is moved back? in semi power is cut off after firing bb, so it is in front position (unless you cut power before shot, what then?), but it auto it can be cut in any part of the cycle. Will it leave spring under tension? It would deteriorate spring if kept under tension, wouldn't it? I don't see any mechanism that would keep that from happening, except for electronic triggers, am I right or is there something for that?
It can be left in pretty much any part of the cycle and with the spring under tension. Cycle detection electronic triggers prevent it as does firing a few shots in semi before you put your gun away for the day.
@@AnvilAirsoftTV oh thanks. I'm planning building remote turret and was thinking how to trigger the shot and was expecting some mechanism that would keep motor spinning to neutral position, as I saw some animations that were showing that even though showing just simple trigger with contact plates like here and I was starting to think I'm just too stupid to see how it works expecting some hidden mechanism haha so this is extremely helpful video and good to know it was not me but the design :D so I guess simple transistor or relay will be enough for starters then and later could add just some encoder on last gear (I guess that will be how "commercial" electronic triggers work, right?), or hall effect sensor on piston, will have to play around, thanks for the great video again!
We shoot single shot in our later video when we change targets. Not really heard or seen that one before. I’d do a test but we’ve stopped making airsoft content.
I had a tac vest and loved it. On deployment to Iraq in 2003 I had a molle system vest desert dpm pattern. That was my favourite bit of kit ever. I was a medic so I had a trauma pouch on there, it was great. Gadge was talking about his arm rubbing on the pouch while walking. It's too high, that's why. The bottom fastening should be below your belly button. Release the shoulder points so it comes down a bit and you will feel the difference. Storm shadow tattoo is great.
@@AnvilAirsoftTV I think it would be an interesting video to talk about tailored kit. Looking for information but there’s not a lot online. Even if it’s just information you’ve heard about a shop.
I have a question about wearing the ECBA body armor. Is it true that the correct way of wearing it is to have the bottom line of the vest covers your stomach and liver area? It cannot go all the way down as it may affect your movement.
They are all individually sized using the NATO system. So it goes where it goes really. It shouldn’t ride up over your webbing and there’s loops on it for that. A lot of people in Northen Ireland had it under their smock though. Partly to retain access to pockets and partly to make the lads look bigger.
I’ve still got my belt kit my windproof smock a DNC smoke I used to wear when I played enemy and COP vest the modification I’ve made to everything comes from the 13 years I served it get bit harder with the Ospray they issued us but I’d show you my webbing
What are they like for running about in ? Can they be fastened down enough so the pouches don't flop about ? For long distance/trail running, there are lots of different lightweight utility vests, usually with a small pack at the back and water bottle/food pouches at the front. I do this sort of running and like the idea of these military issue vests, but wondered if they might be a bit too cumbersome ?
For trail running they would be too cumbersome and would get hot too. Short distances they are fine. I prefer webbing and Gadge prefers vests so I guess opinions will also differ on who you ask.
@@AnvilAirsoftTV Thanks for that reply !👍 I was just looking at one at a car boot sale and thinking about it ! I also marshal at running races etc. so it might still fit in with somewhere.👍
You Guys nailed it ! I started playing or mainly collectiong Airsoft in 2003 and yes you`re right, the game changed quit a lot until today. I really loved it back in the days but today i am not playing any more. Because the people are different... perhaps because they see Airsoft Sniper Videos and think its cool to shoot someone in the face ... nope it isnt cool ! Be a Gentleman like back in the days. I wish you the very best for the future
I privately purchased an ops vest same as the one you have and went to afghan with it. Imagine my horror when the body armour I was issued didn't fit over it. Much consternation. I should have tried it before deploying. Oopsie.
The reason why you're dropping power is your interview is under volumed. If you want Hot 4/8 you need a 363 mm inner barrel. I actually have one because I was trying to use 45s and I wanted a 390 mm in apparel but since I lack the tools to cut them without ruining it, I decided to get a 363 which can also hop 48's withoutbpower loss. I just don't want to use 48 because cost and avaliablolity. You jave ti find them. Because few comanies go beyond a .32. hpa is your best bet. They make some the heaviest ammo. Bls goes even heavier if you kkow where to look. But if course deathzone makes .68 ceramic and you better have 1 hell of a bolt action and have $200 because they are $3.33 a piece
It’s got a ported cylinder. No idea why CYMA put one in other than they were thinking about fps with lighter BBs. It’s once been sold on to a new owner. Thanks for commenting.
is mk.18 handguard a stock? or any recommendations for a mk.18 stock for the NGRS M4? I bought a used MARUI NGRS M4 CQBR and I want to decorate it in mk.18 style.
@@AnvilAirsoftTV There may be a misunderstanding. I have a used NGRS M4 that I bought, it is an old model with a delta ring and a triangle front sight, and I want to change it to look like a Mk.18. I am looking for a handguard that fits it.
Glad to know you guys are carrying on with yt, my favourite videos are the manky green surplus, best of luck and i am very excited to see the new content
It is interesting how the military, with all the money and government thinkers in the world can come up with such crap. I have a Finland one (of course I have the US/Canada one too) and it is a thin wall relatively square shape; the look like they toss them in the recycle bin rather than pass them along to the next soldier. When not playing with military kit, I either use new commercial hiker bottles or re-use pop/soda bottles.
I like the British ones but to be fair only really because they fit my pouches. I much prefer a clear bottle so you can see what condition they are in.
58 webbing was incredibly tough and durable- it also soaked up water like a sponge! Broke a few finger nails trying to close the tabs on bum rolls when wet and I was trying to pack away by NBC suit aka 'Field Pyjama's!' lol L1A1 SLR was a superb piece of kit- loved it. Used it for the first 3 years in the reserves before switching to the SA80 pop gun. I served 19 years and loved it. I'd still select an SLR as a wpn if it was necessary to go to fight- all it needs is a Trilux sight.
