What kind of files were saved in the styles file? I have tried saving as affinity designer files, png files and jpg files. I still can't import the styles? What am I missing. I know it's something small. Please help
For me, it was not a very good written script: too many secondary and tertiary subtopics, in what I was hoping would be a video on the basic topic of "Artboard", just as the title states. All the subtopics are simply distracting.
Hey, great tutorial, it would be good to see tracking and kerning also, I noticed (as is often the case) the inside of the radius creates ligatures, where the type touches, its a small point, I really don't want to come across as picky, I've used A***E products since crumbs, PS 1.3, I think? I have just opened this software for the first time and thought...wow, this is GOOOOOOOD
On your page listing Affinity Designer tutorials, you list this video as (NEW 28/03/24) -- Please don't be lazy resulting in ambiguity and confusion - always list your dates with a 3-letter month and a 4-digit year. This will remove all ambiguity, and it's only 3 additional keystrokes. Remember, people in different parts of the world designate dates in a different order than you do.
In Version 2.5, dragging to create a child layer of a parent layer does not produce the three different drop areas mentioned in this video, but rather will only allow dropping on the entire (highlighted) parent layer. This does create the child layer, but I'm wondering if v2.5 has eliminated the other two drop areas?
Good Video. Thanks. It would be even better if you would include (a) the method to share assets among Affinity apps on the same device; and (b) how to export an Assets Category, then import it onto a different device. Also, it would be much better in LIGHT MODE (dark mode is very difficult to see on a tutorial) and using ZOOM so we can better see each panel you're working on. I'm looking at this on a 26" screen (66cm), and all the text on the panels is pixellated and impossible to read. Thanks!
Bitmap fills are well implemented but what we really want is VECTOR pattern fills along with true vector brushes! Also, how to tell if I've scaled the bitmap fill over 100% and start losing detail? Seems no obvious way to tell that.
Unfortunately, there is nothing more convenient than the Mirror Me extension for Adobe Illustrator. It would be great if similar features appeared in Affinity Designer
The app is fantastic! However, I’m a bit confused about using the term "persona" to indicate workspaces or modes. My first language is Italian, and when I first launched the app, I thought it was a translation error. 😅
This is great stuff, but it should really be a live transform effect instead, to be able to go back and keep making changes to the objects if you need to tweak it further.
Wish this worked for me. I do not get centring lines coming up and how does she change to a thicker pen tool line without upsetting the controls? I tried a wonky one bit by bit, at the end, they would not work in sync at all.
The pacing of these videos is far too fast and you leave out some crucial information. I wish you'd take more time to explain these features and be a bit more thorough.
