I played this whole game with my ex gf. We were supposed to play them all. Seeing Cortana always makes me cry as I have her that nickname as we were long distance and she was always in my head phones. I cry because I realise just like six. I was chosen by her. But I was just there to deliver her to the right place. I miss her
Really shouldnt have even been possible for chief to do this, with billions of bodies on High Charity they should have just flood waved him, BUT I suppose the purple sugar walls were that motivating
I like how at first, it seems like it might just be one big fake-out. When you're walking into this place, you see a few squads of Covenant guys who seem like they're just hanging out. So, you start to think maybe when the marine said the threat "Isn't Covenant", you might've misheard him, or that maybe he was mistaken, and it was just the regular Covenant shenanigans after all. And then, just when that relief is starting to kick in, Master Chief picks up that damn helmet. And *ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE.* This is among the best reveals in gaming history, easily surpassing Modern Warfare's "Don't trust Shepard", and quite possibly rivaling the "Sheik and Zelda are one and the same" revelation from Ocarina of Time.
Obviously, Chief isn't one to emote, but that slight lean backwards when Cortana tells him that she needs to stay in the system to detonate In Amber Clad is all we need to see to know his thoughts.

Still one of the most iconic 1st levels ever. Little old me remember how great it was to play it for the first time on the first Xbox. The atmosphere was just fantastic as well. Wish i can go back in time when everything was just...simple and fun.
Anyone ever think about how these random marines who were able to configure that Mass Driver to take out ships saved all of humanity? Dudes never get no credit, Emile and 6 wouldn't have been able to do fuck all if those guys didn't set things up for them. Props.
