Hi thanks for watching! The HR accuracies are based on mean absolute error so it takes into account the 'average' of the entire data set of heart rate readings. There are some wild fluctuations that cause the plots to look significantly different but these do not form the majority of the dataset - there are large parts of the dataset (watch and ECG chest strap) with <5% error leading. Around 93% accuracy, personally speaking, is not that bad for a bulky watch like this which I expected to struggle a lot to be honest. And it depends on how the model used to crunch the data as well. Hope that helps 😀
Hi! -On the Mi Fitness App go to 'Device' in bottom right corner of the app -Scroll down and select Amazon Alexa -Log into Amazon and give the necessary permissions -once all logged in, long-press the too right button on the watch and Alexa should start working Hope this helps 🙂
@@thewearableist Thanks for a quick answer. My question is about the country/region where Alexa is available. Here in The Netherlands I get an error because of unsupported region. Where are you located? Cheers!
No worries! I'm based in the UK. It looks like some regions have this issue with Alexa integration and connection within Xiaomi products. One workaround is changing the region in your Mi Fitness App. Check this sub-reddit out where someone got it to work after changing their region to United Kingdom: www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/1bwf8t4/fixed_and_working_alexa_on_redmi_watch_4_with/ Hope it helps 😀
Very Nicely done 👏👏👏 I can imagine how much effort went into making the video !! Good work, keep it up!! Also I like how you tried to introduce some humor 😊
Hiya. Yes it's due to the 1.5 m water resistance. Amazfit say: "According to the IEC 60529 standard, the Amazfit Bip 5 achieves a rating of IP68, for a water-resistance of up to 1.5 meters, and is therefore suitable for splashes or snow. It has passed third-party testing conducted by SGS, and the report number is SHES230400733371. Remove the watch when taking a hot shower, swimming, when entering a sauna, since too much steam can affect the seal and make it less water-resistant in future." Hope it helps !
Hi! The Stress alert can be switched on by: Long-press central button on left-side > Settings > Health & Wellness > Stress Alerts Here you can also setup the Rest Alerts Hope that helps 😀
I am not happy the gps does not work I\ distance on my bike is wrong I am thinking of going with something else Once Google bought things went downhill the first thing they removed was the group thing which was the best thing I can only say don't waste your money
265 user for the last 2 months here and my only gripe is Garmin Pay being limited to certain cards. I try to just keep in mind that it's a fitness tool first, a smartwatch second.
@@matttan4404 I've been using Garmin for years and i was initially disappointed about Garmin Pay, but I've been using something called a curve card which supports garmin pay and acts similarly to paypal and allows you to pay with other cards
Hi. Oh yeah Garmin Pay is a bit of a pain for me too in the UK. In the US there's a lot more banks signed up to it. 💯 agree it's a sportswatch first with some smart features.
Hmm. Fitbit is listed on my screen. I see wearos, garmin, samsung, zeppos Zwift wahoo, polar, but no fitbit. How are you able to see the fitbit option?
Hello. Not sure why Fitbit is not on your list, I checked and I can see all the ones you listed including Fitbit. Can you see if your Strava app needs updating? Also check this out: support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/216918087-Fitbit-and-Strava#:~:text=From%20the%20Strava%20mobile%20app,automatically%20after%20creating%20the%20connection.
sorry but this video I'd only looking at the lower level of Gaskin watches like ones Tustin are far far lower quality. get a Garmin 945 or Fenix series to make a fairer comparison
Thank you for putting this video together. I didn't know my FitBit Charge 6 had so many settings. I was not aware of the ECG and EDA scans. I am using them now consistently.
Again (I left a similar comment on your Garmin Vivosmart video), thank you for the details about the blood oxygen tracking at night. So helpful to know that it just shows an average. Really helps me narrow down which tracker I want to get. Thank you!
This was a great review, thank you! Everyone seems to want to gloss over the blood oxygen level features and whether it can be included in sleep tracking or if it's just an on-demand thing. Thank you so much for addressing that here. One thing I will say is that I went to the Google play store to look at the app reviews, and ALL the most recent reviews are 1's because of a recent update. Like they're all saying what happened, why'd you ruin it, it was fine, now it's harder to read, sucks to use and seems less accurate, etc. So much can change in just a few days! grrrrrr edit: I see now that you did a review of the update. I'm a little less apprehensive about it now. I imagine it's something that would annoy current users who were used to the old way more than new users.
Hey thanks for watching. Yes the new Garmin Connect app update is a bit divisive for existing users but if you're new to the Garmin world then not a big issue.
100% agree. It's an archaic looking item in 2024. Garmin need to stick a colour OLED screen on the Vivosmart series. But some folk like a discrete-looking band so this one fits the bill.
I have owed mine 30 days. The strap falls off often. The GPS does not work. You have to pay a monthly fee for youtibe. Its not very good for running as get loats of pointless buzzing and it does not even light the screen. You also may not want use this for cycling as GPS is terrible and the bands fall off. It is a great sleep tracker. A huawei tracker for 100 less is probably better for sport but huawei is banned from the app store and the Fitbit charge 6 has better sleep tracking
Hi! Looks like you're band connection points are knackered...I agree with the buzzing when running - I realised there was a max HR set on the tracker by default, but I turned it off after I got annoyed by it.
@@thewearableistpls plss I need your advise which is better fitbit 6 or whoop band? I need to but a fitness tracker noting am wearing apple watch ultra but it's very weight especially during sleep and I need to get a tracker with lite weight? Plssssssss need your advise plss
Garmin's artificial limitations crippling a watch that at £250 is not really that "budget". It's like they're testing the waters to see how many people go for an inferior watch for the sake of the shiny screen rather than get the superior (and maybe even cheaper) FR 255.
What a brilliant review. Very informative. And from my point of view its good to see someone from the uk reviewing sports watches. I currently have a Garmin forerunner 745 and Apple watch. I will probably wait to see if Garmin bring a new Epix out in August or see what Apple do in September 👍🏻
Hey thanks for watching, I'm very happy to see the UK audience joining in the fun 🙌🏼 😃 FR 745 is great! Getting a few hikes under the belt with the new Polar Grit X2 Pro at the moment. If another Epix comes out I'll do a comparison against it.
Kind of hard to listen because Google won't let present soon to ex Fitbit users activate said watch. Previous Google logon or new (as directed) we, not alone here aren't allowed. Bought Charge 6 months ago, paper weight now. Will wait until 2025 when Google forces users to switch over. If I can't activate then it gets trashed with my still operational Charge 2, 4 and 5. (Charge 5 works but sucks)
That's sad to hear you're having issues activating the Charge 6. I had a similar issue but managed to reset my old Fitbit password when I had the Charge 3 and use that to logon and use everything. I've seen many other frustrations online with Google / Fitbit integration and fingers crossed it sorts itself out soon. Have you tried Garmin?
What do you think about built quality and longivity of charge 6, i have seen some reviews of charge 5 and previous Fitbit that they breakdown or screen got blackout within 1 years.
Hi. I had a Fitbit Charge 3 bought in 2018 and used it till 2022 till I switched to Garmin Venu 2. It still worked and charges ok just don't use it. On online forums we normally see upset customers of course so take online opinions and forums with a pinch of salt for any wearable (still useful to do the reaearch so good you're looking into it). It ultimately depends on how you use any take care of any electronic item. Its more of a lifestyle/fitness/health tracking and not really a "rugged" sportswatch (Garmin/Polar/Suunto). If you are looking to do extreme sports and things like mountaineering etc., then you'd need a more rugged device. But if you're into general fitness (running, walking, gym, yoga, cycling), sleep tracking, heart rate tracking, then it should be okay. Hope that helps 😀
For some reason i have to manually start the strava recording because when i start a walk on fitbit itll record my heartrate and miles but not the steps ):
Hi. Sorry to hear that it doesn't everything for you. I presume you ticked all the boxes (including activity stats) when authorising access. There's always some form of minor issue with Strava syncs..maybe check this link out and see if thr disconnection and recommections work: support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/216918087-Fitbit-and-Strava#:~:text=Try%20reconnecting%20your%20accounts%2C%20syncing,will%20be%20sent%20to%20Strava). Hope this helps.
You've let me back in a circle to the watch/fitness tracker I already have, the amazefit bip 5. But I wasn't convinced the HRM was very accurate. But maybe I just have a high resting heartrate... I dunno. Still wondering if another one would work better. Maybe I should keep giving it a go. I've really only just started wanting to track my heart rate.
Hi. HRM on the Bip 5 is fine when doing activities - but there's an option to increase the frequency of measurement to make it more accurate. For resting HR, we are relying on the algorithm to smooth out errant HR readings, which in some budget watches like Bip 5 is not that great. Garmins are much better at keeping track of resting HR (and activity/exercise HRs). I have used Garmin Venu 2, Vivosmart 5 and now Forerunner 165 and they are all consistently showing my resting HR in the same range which is a positive indicator of their algorithm being consistently applied across the board. Hope that helps.
Utterly ridiculous they should've just left it alone, too late for me anyway I sold my Garmin and now I'm using an Apple Watch ultra I won't be going back to Garmin again, it's a shame because I really liked my Garmin, but at the end of the day, I can't allow a company to treat me like that and get away with it.
Yes, I read on a sub-reddit that there's no way of going back and Garmin have completely restricted the old version. The only hope now is a future update. There was a long beta testing period and although users, like myself, provided feedback on it, I'm not entirely sure if any of it was taken onboard before releasing the 5.0 update.
Nice fitness tracker. Ever heard of Immersive Translate?? It's a tool that supports real-time subtitles and generate them for videos in foreign languages. With the subtitles, you fully understand the video content and naturally learn a foreign language while watching.
Hi, thanks for watching! Aww I completely understand! My next video is about the Garmin Connect App 5.0 update to hopefully help some users navigate the new layout a bit better 😀
I've been a Wear OS user for a few years (I have used Ticwatch Pro 5, Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and Pixel Watch 2). I recently tried a Venu 2 Plus which I really liked except for two things - the sleep tracking was pretty poor and I missed the extended smart features found on Wear OS devices. If you are really into fitness then a Garmin probably is best (except for sleep tracking and price!) but if you want smarts/fitness then I would suggest the Pixel Watch 2 as it has by far the beat fitness/sleep tracking of all the Wear OS watches - you'll just have to top up the battery charge everyday. That said, I really like the Ticwatch Pro 5 as a general smartwatch!
Hi thanks for watching. Yep I really liked the Ticwatch Pro 5 too and all the smarts (even fitness features were not that far off). So far in all my testing, none of the WearOS can beat Garmin on battery life. We'll wait and see how that changes when Garmin start add more and more smart features to their watches. Glad you enjoyed 🙌🏼
Garmin is far superior to wear OS. Although having a sim enabled watch is nice. Wear OS notifications are nice(being able to respond on the watch). I hate that Garmin still makes you use proprietary charging cables. Despite the drawbacks, I won't be going back to wear OS. For fitness tracking Garmin is second to none. I feel like review is spot on.
