Hey Raul. How is going mate? Still in Europe? I am thinking to get one of these vevor fridges. Next year I am planning to convert a small van into a micro camper. Not sure If I get the 20L or 35L. What are your thoughts? All the best :)
Hi pal. In the uk at the moment. It's been a good solid fridge all summer long. I would suggest the bigger the better. It's good to have the extra space if you need it. I always do 😂
Evident nu in acelasi timp.
Based on an average of 12 hour days... Say some 10 hour, some 14 hour... You averaged £17.36ph. Not bad at all I'd say. Unfortunately for new passes like myself, we may have to take those low paying jobs just to gain experience. The supermarket I've worked at for over nine years on delivery vans won't even take me on and told me to go to agency to get some experience then come back! Not even an offer for training.
As a new pass just starting to get call backs and offers from agencies, my number one goal above all else is to put away six months worth of wages to fall back on. Lucky for me I'm very minimalistic and don't have a family to feed, so saving up will be very easy for me, but you just never know when the work is gonna dry up. Gotta have that safety net! The work the agencies are finding me is temp to perm, so hopefully after twelve weeks I'll get a contract with their client .... or so they say.
I drive a wag and drag, it's 62 foot long and has the turning circle of the moon!! I absolutely hate going into towns and cities with it, but have to at times. I also hate having to reverse it in the dark and rain with stupid people walking behind you while trying to back into somewhere! 😢
I heard that at least in London area if one uses the 40f inner front twist lock for the 45f box and vosa-nostra catches it one could be fined like it's an infringement or so. If that is a legend or not , I'd rather not gamble. So I learned the same thing, position 3 and outer twist lock in the front for the 45f box. Some trailers have a bumper extension, which legend also says it could welcome a fine if caught when extended but hauling a smaller box.
I have refilled the additive fluid on my 2009 Volvo V70 1.6 diesel EcoDrive, but the car is still warning that the fluid is low. I have tried clearing the fault codes, but they keep coming back. I’m wondering how to reset the fluid counter using a LAUNCH CRP919X. Could you advise on how to proceed?
I've been looking at container jobs for a solid week now but they all want one year experience specifically on containers. I'm a new pass with no experience at all. How the hell do you get your foot in the door with no experience??! I've been on supermarket vans for nine years now so driving-wise I'm pretty damned experienced in my mind, just need to get into a truck. I'm Liverpool based so any advice on good agencies in the area would be greatly appreciated. Your videos are definitely helping me understand how to set up the trailers for the different sized containers.
That's a good return for 144 days, your getting loads of time off. But as u say 800-1000 a week if your working all year round is a better than average wage. As u say depends on the area your working, but 200 a day is s good bench mark
Hi Raul, considering a career change and getting into truck driving. Love driving and long roadtrips so think it would be right for me in a way. Where were you based for the long haul trips to Scotland? Im based on the Staffordshire/Shropshire border, wondering what kind of work would be a realistic commute
Yeah but if you want to be pulling 1000 Watts from your AC unit during the day without your battery going flat you are going to need atleased 1000 Watts worth of penal jeuce to give a fully charged battery by evening there you go buddy there is another thing to add to your equation
I have my first interview as a container driver tomorrow at Tilbury. I have no experience with HGV but I want this job so bad. To say the least your videos have been helpful and filling me with confidence prior my interview. Thank you Raul, may God bless you
This is a great video. One question. At 7:36, how do you know how much room you have on the other side of the trailer? I've been trying to follow this guide for the last week and I keep having to get out and check because from the cab it looks like I won't make it when in fact I will?
It's a good thing to go out and check. But with experience, you can assess if the trailer will fit in a gap before you begin the manoeuvre. If you keep it close to the trailer that is in your field of view, you can be sure that you will not hit the one in your blind spot. but it's definitely better to go out and check
