Thanks, these are some good reminders, there’s no question that increasing your mental clarity and boosting your drive, comes with quitting. Yes, there are many ways to kick the habit, Steffon Barkload's approach is what worked for me, best shortcut I go’ogled that took days without withdrawal.
I'm nearly 15 years sober and the life I have today is a far better than anything I had when I was drinking. I've even noticed a change in my home town regarding alcohol. When I was out there drinking, there was about 10 bars and clubs where you could go for a night out. Now there's only 5 and people's attitude in general towards alcohol has changed. It's all for the better because going out at the weekend was like something out of the wild west! Now it's a lot more peaceful and the police and ambulances aren't seen that much.
The absolute best way to stop drinking: quit coffee. You’re way more addicted to caffeine more than likely and you don’t even realize it. You’ll be so blown over by caffeine withdrawal that you’ll forget booze. It works!
Drank beer for 30+ years. Got sober by going to 12 step meetings, switching to sparkling water and just not picking up a drink. Getting sober, getting away from the routine of alcohol; most important thing I ever did for myself. If you're unhappy with your relationship with alcohol, go to meetings and listen. You don't have to do anything else anybody will try and tell you. Go to meetings. They are there for you and the feeling there, it's not a bunch gloom. It's a powerful, loving, non judgemental energy. 9 out of 10 times, you will walk out after a meeting feeling better than I can describe here.
I'm a vicious alcoholalic and have been drinking for years.. I'm on my 2 day bender and my liver feels extremely hot. I need help and need to stop before it kills me. I can't let myself or my family down. I have failed many times. Praying for strength and guidance to become better. 😪
@themaestro5946 I'm still here. I spent most of 2022 summer in a coma after a heart attack I was supposed to go home for hospice in home. I refused to accept death. Unfortunately I'm still drinking beer I was drinking about a half gallon of vodka a day but now I still drink a few beers a day because I'm scared of having a seizure again.
Today I'm an ex soldier, I drink up to litre of vodka per day to numb my overactive mind and fall asleep without my demons. I know this will kill me, it killed my Dad. But I can't stop.
I’m 39 and this is my life as well. I finally reached out to get help. Unfortunately I’m away from the support I reached out to for another week. I want to stop, but like you, I cannot stop my mind and demons from getting to that bottle. I’m going to make it to 40, but it’s going to be a struggle. So thanks for this video to show me it’s possible. If I don’t make changes, I know I won’t see 45 at this rate.
Dear God,I'm exactly where you are at...I can only hope that you've gotten detox and in some meetings or some type of help....we both owe it to ourselves...we have to choose life
Three months sober and going through this right now but your video helps she’s doing it in her own because she’s a strong person but it helps to have this video to show her that she’s doing things as am I thank you for making this
I'm diabetic and people assume I am an alcoholic. I though I was because I used to put a bit on coffee every day. You know... christians don't like it. It's just a bit. I didn't know that people are so conservative with a bit of booze on coffee. They think that you are drunk.
I drink 2 bottles of wine a day and often add vodka to the mix. I am the manager where I work and am studying for a degree. No hangovers and continue to get promoted at work
Impossible to say sorry & Depends on how long you've been doing this. 3-7 days and longer too at least for the real hard withdrawal stuff. Then it also depends on how you're keeping yourself hydrated, your diet what sort of support you have in terms of medical and a buddy who's by your side. This is critical and don't go to work if you're serious about getting started for real. Take leave make a plan as to what you really desire. Why are you drinking this sort of volume. may I ask. No judgement but helps me understand you better.
@@beyondbooze956 im an ex meth addict and have swapped addictions, i have been drinking like this because i dont like facing the world i live in. im selfmedicating to numb the pain of reality in a sense. im taking myself into the hospital tomorrow for detox, my partner is going to be there with me by my side, my job can wait. im going to take sick leave and annual leave, they legally have to support my decision. thankyou.
@@NewZealaand this is a great empowered decision. Keep me posted and maybe we can get you a little more focused on what's actually possible & to do life well. Cheers Bro.
Omg! You are me. I am 29. I want help! This is me every morning. I just drank almost a 5th or Cognac to feel good today. I can drink more and I want more now to feel good. Wtf. Let’s quit! Today was the worst.
I’ve got a hangover ,after one bottle of beer ,it’s not severe but tired ,down to 2/3 bottles a week ,it was never really a massive problem but just a habit ,
@@beyondbooze956 no ,but thanks ,I’m a classic binge drinker ,once a week ,not the quantities I hear people drinking maybe max 5 pints then rum ,but I am 53 and fairly fit ,but just getting down to a couple of pints a week
Im on my 2nd dwi cannot get a 3rd but after probation I started again and this time I think its worse. Had to go stone cold sober cause if I would have tested positive I would have went back to jail and ended up in the hospital... instead of helping they just stop you from weening off
I been experience sweating nights ,that happends just right away when i try to go to sleep I mean if i go to bed at 9 30 pm By 10 i start sweating alot sr, Is that good or bad? I have depresion to as well
It's your body trying to detox. When your full of booze then your body is in overdrive trying to get the booze out. The sweats will pass as long as you are getting off the booze. I'm not a doc buddy so if you're depressed and using booze to self medicate then it's a dangerous & slippery slope. You need to get help. If your taking meds already and boozing then it's not a good place to be as it makes the sobering all that more painful and complicated. And maybe reach out to a friend and tell them your situation. I'm not sure if this helps. DONT DO THIS ALONE.
@@beyondbooze956 thanx for the response sr, im on my 4 day sober, so sweating nights,as long as i dont keep drinking alchol will go away right? Nothing to worry about
@@MrForthepunx I don't know sorry. If your liver and or kidney are damaged that can cause you to sweat a whole lot too. Maybe get to a doctor and get blood tests buddy. It may be a sign of something more serious.
