Does no one else think it’s quite tragic that Van Goughs most treasured painting was an abstraction ? The guy cut his own ear off in a dispute with another artist he lived with about whether or not painting imaginary things was a waste of time and only ever did it once with the stary night.
Yes absolutely, as long as you're not selling any of the stamp brushes "as is" in individual PNG files - they would need some sort of modification or embellishment. The dynamic brushes are different every time so this only applies to stamp brushes.
Hey, sorry I missed this! I always handle all support queries on email: hello@alainajensen.com I'm not sure what you mean by the colors changing - if you still need help, please send me an email with a photo of the problem I will be better able to diagnose the problem and resolve it.
Thanks! Yes I always recommend printing on glossy photo paper especially when there are metallic effects. Alcohol ink in "real life" is also done on glossy/non absorbent paper (as opposed to watercolor).
I think we may have already spoke via email, but I'm not able to collect and remit sales tax in some regions, but you can purchase via my Etsy shop instead: www.etsy.com/shop/alainajensenstudio/
Hi Alaina, I love your video demonstrations and I especially love the Alcohol Inks I bought from you. However, they suddenly stopped working in the middle of a piece of art. I have a new iPad Pro 12.9 with 512G RAM so this was unexpected. Other brushes are working, just not the Alcohol Inks. What am I doing wrong?
Hi there, sorry I had not seen your message sooner! I don't always see comments so it's always best to send an email for support. It's not immediately clear why this might happen but if you are still having this issue, please send me an email at hello@alainajensen.com and I will be happy to help you troubleshoot the issue.
I’ve been watching more of your videos so I see your brushes are actually artistic-like & not every brush is just a premade design or whatever. I’m hesitant to buy another set but yours so look great that I’m about to but I thought I’d ask if you had like free example brush by chance? Like not a stamp brush.. I’m a little sick of stamp brushes😂, I can make my own at home with my actual alcohol ink Lol. I’ve bought a couple alcohol ink sets and downloaded a couple free ones and with a few of them I ask myself if they’ve even ever used alcohol ink 🤦♀️ My lesson has been- you get what you pay for! Some of the sets had a few good brushes but yours look of a different caliber so im leaning toward purchasing, they’re just a little pricier so i wanted to ask in case you did have a free example brush then I’d feel even more confident in buying but if not, I totally understand and probably will still buy. Anyway, thanks for these videos! ❤
Thank you so much for this video. One of the reasons, why more creators should think their process through a little better, is when a creator explains something, about how to use a product from their shop, and what can be accomplished with that product(s) from their shop, then a person will buy those products. They do not show us the details of how to do the process, no they want us to pay for a subscription, I do get it, but when you teach people in your subscription it should be where you learn advantage techniques and not how to paint with a watercolor brush, etc.). Not all can pay or want to pay a monthly subscription, but does that take away that a person does not want to do that line of art? NO, not at all. You have to think about balance as in art, you have to see the non-patrons also as a part of your community because this is a perfect example. I watched the video and thought about tackling watercolor (brush and paper) but feel highly intimidated and here you show how I can practice without the 'pain' of not 'getting it'. Thank you once again, you have made it interesting that I want to get those brushes, etc, because I want to try them now.
Thank you for your kind comment! For me it makes sense to provide videos for free and charge for brushes, so that way people can get a really good idea of whether they want the brushes want before buying. I'm glad this is helpful for you! Different models make sense for different creators depending on what their focus is, and in the end we all have bills to pay 😅
Watched the stamp brushes they are awesome. Do you have brushes/stamps for semiprecious beads. I make handmade bead jewellery as a hobby and wanted to try creating design digitally on iPad. Haven't created anything digitally yet. My Apple pencil is arriving tomorrow and have to buy Procreate on my iPad
I hope you are enjoying your new iPad! I have a stone bead stamp in my Mixed Media brush set but I don't really have anything particularly focused on beads.
How do I turn off dual tilt? I’m trying my best just to use one color, but it still ends up using dual tilt without me wanting it to, no matter how straight i keep the Apple Pencil
Yes, you can turn it off by tapping the brush which brings up the brush settings. Then go to "color dynamics" and scroll to the end of those settings, to "color tilt." The very last slider on that page should be "secondary color" and you can slide that all the way to the left to bring it to 0. I hope that helps!
The prongs in my images were made with the "brushed metal" brush which comes with my Gemstone set. It's not a stamp, its a dynamic brush so you can control how thick the prongs are, depending on how much pressure you use and how fast your stroke is.
Thanks so much! I'm glad to hear you are enjoying the videos. If you haven't seen it yet, my abstract playlist might be helpful: ru-vid.com/group/PLHUwaphNwGmjGo_3nfDQgaQXSSsbsenpv
OMGosh!!! This set is amazing and I wonder if you have a background in gemology because these are spot on! Now to go shopping on your website, my credit card is going to hate me, but I am in love with everything you’ve done here!
Thank you sooooo much for your support, it really means a lot! I do not have a background in gemology but I do have a penchant for intensive research when it comes to projects like this!
Minute 15:23 - after you select the petals you go back to "layers" to create a new layer. When I do that on my iPad, the "select" option gets automatically unselected so I am not able to do the coloring on the way you are able to do it. Do you know why it's different on my iPad? How can I keep the selections selected as I click on 'layers'? Thank you!
Hi Marisa! Your selection settings should be "Automatic" and "add" under that, and it's also important to make sure that "color fill" is deselected. If you want to email me a screenshot of your selection settings please feel free, which would enable me to look for clues as to what is going on. But also - if for any reason your selection gets unselected, you can tap and hold the select tool (ribbon icon) and Procreate will actually re-select the selection that you lost for you.
I wish i had bought these when i was looking for brushes. You seem to have the one of few tutorials I could find. Have you tried to make floral shapes with these?
@AlainaJensen I'll have to put your brushes in my wishlist, they look great! I have so many alcohol ink brushes now Ooh yes I do believe I watched this video in brevity. I'll have yo rewatch. I am trying to make an orchid 😅
@@Bijecarli oh orchids, fun! Those flowers are still a bit abstract and blobby, I’m not amazing at florals. Some people in my Facebook community have done some amazing flowers though!
