Hi! So, the record for that mission is 22m and I haven't been able to get close to the record yet. I could upload the achievement though if it would help. I think you can go cav archers or cavalier. To start with you push down the west side with your army and take out the castles on the front. Then split with some going around the top and some through the centre. If you struggle, use a unit or two to lure an army away (this is how the record was done). It's harder now that it's the romans. The scorpions hurt....
I recall when I was far younger, I once thought about attempting to win that scenario by just attacking the Moors right on and capturing the Trade Carts right away. I did manage to win the scenario like that in the end, but it was on Standard Difficulty, and not as skillfully as you did XD
@@TheMcGreevy I praise for your sanity and mental health I completed today the campaign on hard and oh boy... truly the most unfunny and stressful campaign ever played
I was actually able to defend the Wonder after a humungous ammount of attempts, you need to send starting villagers immediately to the wonder to repair like crazy whislt building fires to destroy the cannon galeons, very hard
@@HandsomeMaq Hi! Unfortunately the developers just made changes to the campaign a couple of days ago to make it harder. You have to kill 4 heroes, 3 castles and take the Sophia. If you struggle with it let me know and I can try to find a way to do the new version
Thank you, glad you're enjoying them! I do plan to keep doing them until I have completed them all but there are other runners who take the records back so I'll never have every record. I'll upload as many as I can
Thank you! Yeah some weren’t needed but a lot of them I was just destroying whilst I waited for the landing. That needs to come earlier but I always forget it 🤔
@@TheMcGreevy yeah and if someone in near future will beat your record again with this tittle things and then you need to manage your time in seconds to beat it again 😂
Hi! The northern ones I needed so I could take out the monastery, the other ones I didn’t have much else to do whilst waiting to land 🤷♂️ Definitely not needed
@@ataguvn Thank you so much! I’m trying to slowly break all the records but if there is a campaign you like, let me know and I’ll add it to my list. Eye-asof-ya got it 😂
@@TheMcGreevyI was just looking your previous videos. I want to go easy on you 😁 Maybe el cid or sforza might be fun to try stay away from kotyan or le loi for now..
You timed on north gate with mangonel perfectly, i remember sometimes it won't open the gate or it will just go backwards. I thought you need to mass some army and then attack Byzantines. What about Honfoglalas next?
@@manansuthar9859 Yeah that was lucky and happens to me too 😂 It’s funny, I practiced a honfoglalas with the idea of attacking Francia instead of Bulgaria because they stay feudal age for so long and then someone posted a new record with it yesterday doing exactly that. I have a new lepanto done and looking at the final v and v.
@@TheMcGreevy oh, at least he uploaded before you. So you can already improvise on that. But I remember honfoglalas is tricky being nomadic and building TCS is usually faster and easier. Which is the final v & v you are referring? I see many are pending seljuk, komnenos, mstislav etc.
@@TheMcGreevy btw what is your connection with lepanto? Your channel description mentions about it and i think you tried beating the score 2 times and even it is your first speedrun and may be the most views on it too.
@@manansuthar9859 Yeah he does it nomadic no TC with rams which was exactly what I was trying and thought would work… Like you say at least I know it can! Those ones that you mentioned for v&v. I’ve done a little planning for Mstislav and Seljuk but I’d like to get them all done. Someone beat Stephen in 12m with what id call a glitch so I’ll have to do that and Ragnar real quick too. (He built a dock by building it in the first 0.1s before the ability to dock is gone and kills the Norman transports) Aim is to get all historical battles and v&v. Lepanto was just my first record. I tried it because I’m generally a top water player and saw the record looked easily beatable. For some reason then several people decided to go after that specific record and this is the 3rd time I have to take it back. 😂
@@TheMcGreevy Stephan in 12 mins only? I saw someone doing Ragnar trick via ungarrison from rams but tricky to find perfect angle and land inside walls. He made a mockery of giant scenario 11. Yesterday I played seljuk and I found a glitch accidentally. I garrisoned the vill I got from khutalmish attacks to yellow near their spawning area and somehow i survived vill and i garrisoned inside yellow town center and all of orange player's raids will go towards that tc and since villager is staying inside they will stay near tc and don't attack anyone with almost 100+ troops just stayed there without targetting anywhere else. Even their new spawning units target there only because it is closest to them. Your vills can roam around anywhere freely and just need to avoid static enemies 11.
@@TheMcGreevy Thanks a lot!! But I must say that you are more talented than me regarding speed. I might do a future video showing some speedy playthrough like I did in the past, let's see :)
@@tomascostanzo3673 Agree, it’s so tough on hard if you let the westerners land their boats! You can snipe the transports if you hug the west wide of the water on no attack stance because they split from the navy.
I didn't expect it but yeah really nice recap. I'm looking forward to seeing the recap of all games from you. I really like that you paused in between phases such as after age ups or unit transitions etc. so we can grasp properly. Tatoh and Sebastian series was really good and hera lierrey in cliffbound was really tense game. I remember hera did a similar tower rush pressure in hidden cup finals against him. Btw did they change the map passage? I remember it was full water map so once you beat opponent's navy and he hit imp first it's pretty much gg. But now it is somewhat similar to golden stream.
This mission is pretty easy but they tried to make it complicated with loyalty mechanic. When i played this for first couple times, i found it difficult as they will attack when you just hit castle age and if you capture Italy then even sooner and tributing them resources makes your boom weaker but i forgot to lure them under castle to become loyal. So castle is actually OP 11. Also it is possible that you can order them to attack enemies from the beginning either vikings or wends which i did and they will remain loyal longer as long as their all units keep moving so you have to keep flaring because newly created units won't follow your previous orders and their military size should be more than 20 to rebel even if loyalty points becomes 1. This way they keep trading their army and once they rebel they would be via north of your base and come towards your castle and eventually become loyal. but this demands so much attention with flares. but once they become loyal once then after that you can start paying tributes. I don't know if they still follow your orders with taunt 31. I thought you need to destroy TCs of wends and west francia too.
Yeah you can definitely do more than I did to crush the rebellions and use the AI to attack enemies. Probably can beat this time whilst not bringing Francia in too. I kind of enjoyed this scenario.
@@TheMcGreevyinitially devs made Francia to betray only when all of your 3 allies started rebellion. But after a month or so they changed it to 2 vassals should be rebelling and when any 1-2 of your enemies either main enemies or vassals should start attacking in your base, then Francia will start asking 1k gold. Because people complained that it took so long for blue to rebel to get achievement eventually. So after the changes, luring them towards your castle fire can most likely trigger Francia.
Cool move with stone walling the left passing! If you brought onagers there earlier, you probably could even kill purple trebs with them and keep the wall closed :)
@@TheMcGreevy I tried it today, but purple trebs came from the above :D I used onagers the following way: set them on attack ground near their gate, it kills some approaching units, the rest try to dodge and snipers get them at the distance :)
Really nice execution but why you didn't pick up bracer earlier? You researched it around 27 min in game time. Also AI sometimes build production buildings outside their walls and they keep alive. Also fun fact is that around AI's TC there are 2-3 gold piles are there once they are finished it will respawn again and again. I think this is very difficult scenario because you can't gather gold easily in the western side as there will be pressure from land and navy and they train trebs, onagers, paladins, cataphracts, halbs, skirms etc. Building somewhat navy is fine to protect your fishing eco but can't boom safely as you will be on a timer and after sometime you will be overrun even if you are not speed running.
Thank you, had to watch it back but I don’t think I could ever afford it. Think I could only really afford trebs which felt more important as the longbows were already good enough. Maybe could have squeezed it in there but unsure. Yeah gold is tough on this map. I can’t remember now how I did before I speedrun it :(
@@TheMcGreevy yes I also saw you sold initial resources to build castle and then you had most on wood and needed to invest either farms or fishing ships to get food so yeah more trebs is better but not sure if you squeeze in bracer may be after 3 trebs.
This is pretty easy scenario, provided you know scholer locations 11. Why do you put carloman in walls? I have tried to defeat all enemies on this scenario, it took me around 2 hours and specially it was such a grind against berbers. I had 2-3 forward castles, 8-9 barracks and stables each and had to spam army. It is such badly designed scenario because with wonder build route this is looks like wonder race scenario but just need to find scholers. Btw, why you still didn't register your run on speedrun site?
Yeah it basically turns into wonder race but I'll try it sometime the regular way. I put Carloman in walls 50% for fun, and 50% because he kept not dying on my runs and I was tired of relying on him to die... Even luring camels to him failed. I didn't register it yet because the dude who mods the record and sometimes I feel bad taking them.... I should though so I will next time I add
@@TheMcGreevy whenever I played this mission, carloman dies almost everytime when his entire army is gone. So i thought you don't have to do anything. Also, You should try to beat all enemies once. It is interesting to see how grindy you would find to beat specially berbers.
