Pegwarmers is the codename for toys and collectibles with high supply and low demand. Join Kevin Jones, and his team of collector commandos, as they discuss popular and not-so-popular retro and current toy brands. Check back for new episodes each Wednesday.
Toy Island made a ton of Robocop toys after Kenner lost the license. They made ones based on the TV series but they also made Robocop with his jetpack from 3, even though they didn't market it as a Robocop 3 toy (but I'm pretty sure that has more to do with the weird limbo that movie was trapped in for two years than them just being that ashamed of it) I like the fact that they actually made a car that looks like the one from the show, but I'm not sure if they made one in the actual action figure scale because the one I've seen is like MASK size or something and comes with it's own figure
I know ppl didn't get the Dr Mindbender exclusive. But, what can Hasbro do with a retro? Other than give him a silver cobra insignia on his black cape? I have the exclusive Mindbender, and I honestly can't remember if he has the silver cobra on his cape. Obviously I can look it up, but I don't feel like it. I did back the rattler tho. Not a fan of patches however. Shouldn't have been a tier. The tiers should be figured period. And I did get Once A Man CC and the preorders that went live recently. But, what happened to the Dial Tone reveal? Now we have new reveals. So, is Dial Tone gonna get lost in the shuffle?
I would stick characters in a cup, freeze them in the freezer, then I would use the back of the Wayne Manor playset and have the Penguin "freezing" Robin, Catwoman, etc. I would use a 9 foot practice putting green as Wayne Manor lawn and set Wayne Manor at the end and drive the Batmobile up and down it. I got a LOT of use out of these as a 10 year old. Supposedly this stuff is still at my dad's house, but he can't remember where. I need this stuff back!!!!!
I had the leather jacket terminator with half of his face peeled off, cyber-grip, the full exoskeleton terminator and the bike….such fun times as a kid.
For the Ferret, I saw one person take the tires off the hubs and swap them after he put them on backwards, looked like it was fairly even. My favorite SDCC announcement in general was Slaugter/Leatherneck/Kup for Classified, the Rattler and Heavy Duty's announcement.
Road pig will be a definite peg warmer… Nobody’s buying it already because it’s not even accurate at all, especially the tattoo across the midsection… Absolutely ridiculous..I’ll just wait till a new road pig comes out
Hopefully, we will get a retro Road Pig. I believe they dropped the ball on him. He is truly porky. Not feeling that at all. So, that is a pass. Zandar and Leatherneck are on point...
@@timothyjames3131 As I said in the video, I liked him enough to preorder him, but I'm not really happy with the choice to make him more of a big guy instead of a bodybuilder.
The Megablox Ninja Storm playsets were great, and the minifigs were definitely better than the later rounded figures... The ninja ops is worth picking up, and you can even combine the individual weapons just like on the show!
A RU-vidr named Kyle Peterson said something about 8/5 for Once a Man CC. I don’t know where he got that info but I’m staying up until midnight Sunday night to see if I can get one on Hasbro Pulse.
I dont know where this guy lives but if he has Cobra Troopers clogging pegs then let me know where. No Cobra Trooper clogs pegs, not even the new GI JOE troopers clog the pegs. People have been asking for GI JOE troopers for a long time.
@liquididentity101 We literally have female Troopers builders for Cobra and have had them for a while now. They never sit on the shelf long. The only females to sit on shelf long was Lady Jaye, Retro Card Baroness, and Origins movie female figures. Baroness wasn't really a peg warmer seeing there were more Lady Jaye than her. People just didn't like the Origin movie figures.
@Pegwarmers Lady Jaye's and Baroness figure were trash. They had poor articulation and not a lot of accessories. You can't say the same about the new retro card Scarlet, Vypra, Shooter, Helix, and Cover Girl. Look at the face of Lady Jaye and tell me that she was designed well 😂. That soccer mom butter face. Point is that Hasbro has somewhat learned from their past mistakes and the sales of the female figures I mentioned prove it.
I find it funny that you didn't like Road pig, being that it was one of my favorite reveals, but it makes sense, I like him because he looks cool, you don't like him because he looks different from the original
This set came out when I was in middle school and was when I started card collecting. Never seen this set before. Definitely looking forward to your other card sets complete or not. My first box purchased was the Impel 92 X-Men all drawn by Jim Lee. Pulled 3 holograms from it and was super happy cuz the odds were 2 per box iirc Unfortunately it got thrown away not by me. Cards from this era aren't very resistant to aging. I Iive fairly close to the sea, the high humidity aids the yellowing of the cardstock. Which is why I stopped collecting cards and comics in 2003 and moved to figures 😁 My collection is mostly Marvel stuff (no masterpiece sets cuz I prefer reading bios, stats and stories on the cardback), Star Trek and Star Wars (including the Decipher CCGs) and some early Pokemon TCG due to the craze then.
The made the worst terminator figures nothing like the movie at all however at the time when I was around 9 or 10 years old back in 93 or 94 they actually seemed quite awesome I had the full set at one stage I'm so glad that years later neca made quality looking movie figures that you just enjoy looking at I really love having them in my collection now days & I really can't stand the old kenner ones now
The Ninja Storm ones were the best ones IMO. They actually made a big set based on Ninja Ops which came with all 6 Rangers and Sensei figures. They also made a pretty good Storm Power Megazord as well as the main three individual Wind Ranger Zords. Man I miss those.
If you want really bad Brick Power Rangers sets, look at the Forever Clever line. So bad, they had to use other toys to trick people that the builds would look like that.
