Rainbow Brite turns 40 - Pegwarmers 

This was my jam as a kid! I still quote the Dark Princess to this day "Do you understand what I'm saying!?" So far, over a good 35 years of quoting her no one's understood. They just think I'm saying weird things with a weird intonation lol. She was iconic, perfection, a straight up Queen. I had one of the large plush dolls as a kid and I was devastated when I lost her hair ribbon. Crushed, world ended haha. Shy Violet was my favorite but I don't think they made 18" dolls of her. I'm happy to see Rainbow Brite hasn't faded into obscurity. They've done several reboots, but none have been very good. I'd rather see great quality dolls and toys than a half cooked reboot that disrespects the source material. For 80s cartoons, this one is one of the only ones I can still stand to watch. It's aged decently, for something made in the 80s to sell toys haha.

It's beem decades since I've heard the name "Rainbow Brite" and watched the show

I love the size of the fahsion doll one, I would love more dolls to be made in that size, most dolls look super tall compared to my other figures

My little sister had a couple of these and a vehicle that looked like a sailboat, I remember the hull was an upside down rainbow. It's cool seeing the packaging being pretty close to the original. I'd love to see them bring back Jem and the Holograms (which was a cartoon aimed at girls that I as a straight boy watched in the 80s, along with the standard G.I. Joe and Thundercats), but they'd have to go total 80s Glam like the originals, I don't think I could take Jem being reimagined as a K-Pop idol or something.

I watched Rainbow Brite cartoon back in the day at daycare. Along with the Smurfs and whatever other cartoons. Though I have zero interest in toys. I'm surprised looking up that there are only 13 episodes of Rainbow Brite as we must have watched the same episodes over and over again back then as it seemed like there were a lot more episodes than just 13.

I watched the cartoon and had the two baddies as a kid. I believe at the time I was convinced (or maybe my Mom was) I couldn’t get the “girl stuff.” But they were fun.

I'm going to have to do some research as to why the cartoon was cancelled after only 13 episodes, which it appears it took them a few years to air them all.

To my embarrassment....I actually PAID to see "Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer" at a cheap show at Christmastime in 1985. I was one of those people who later got into things like Sailor Moon.

As a straight cis boy in the 80s, I was also interested in Rainbow Brite. 🤷‍♂️ She looked cool.

They are action figures. I bought em.
