You guys have any parts? I'm missing the spit valve and the helmet latch in the back (small dumbbell looking thing) the helmet is a replica but a very high end one. It's just for display in my home so the parts won't need to be first rate. Thanks, any help would be appreciated.
I would like to find the specs of a US Navy Mark V diving helmet. I want to create an accurate cosplay/costume of the helmet. Does anyone know where I could find the info or specs? I've looked but to no avail.
The helmet of siebe gorman that i dove in had a other window above the front one. I worked, and dove with this one in the sixty 's in the royal dutch navy and salvage company's in holland & europe.
I am an old navy/ commercial diver in the sixty "s, and i love the siebe gorman diving helmet,i worked in holland and all over the world in this suite.The suite was very trustworthy.( six bolts ).
A brand new brewery just opened in Ketchikan, AK, and they named one of their beers the Mark IV. I went in and started to explain that it should be Mark V (I'm a US Navy Diver). He actually schooled me on the fact that there was, in fact, the Mark IV. I was humbled!
I believe I’ve heard Don say they actually made Marks I-V you just don’t see many of them that aren’t Mark V’s. Atleast that’s what I’ve gathered from watching these videos.
There are reproduction helmets that have come out in the past few years that look exactly like a genuine Mark V. The only way to tell them from the real thing is to examine the helmet in person, knowing what to look for, or ask an expert. Unless you know what you're doing, always either make sure the helmet comes with a guarantee of authenticity or ask an expert before buying .
