Hi, my name is Brian and welcome to my RU-vid channel. I live in Dumfries, SW Scotland. I am a motor mechanic to trade of 22 years, in that time I worked in 3 main dealerships BL/Austin Rover, Ford & Vauxhall. Got out the trade back in 1999 and started a catering business. Been into motorbikes for over 40 years and just got my full bike licence December 2020 lol. So the videos I will be posting will be mainly bike/car related and with some home cooking chucked in. Cheers Brian
Did you find the cause of the stiff rear brake? I recently got a 2000 RS imported from the US. The rear caliper looks brand new inside. Once rebuilt and bled it still has very little travel on the lever.
@@TheWeeBaldyBiker Pistons are moving freely. I took the master cylinder apart this weekend and rebled. It still has very little movement in the pedal, but it'll quite easily lock the rear wheel. Maybe I'm just used to other bikes.
Cool cool a only started riding last August and have been doing everything I need to myself a was wet behind the ears when it came to bikes lol believing you only had to mix feul😂 and add be lazy nip about on a bike😂got to say it's really satisfying a enloy that bit more after fixing myself or upgrading wee bits and bobs Aaa motorcycles is the local dealer near me I have both a stomp 140cc and 160cc these wee videos stop me asking dumb questions 5/6 months before someone actually pointed me in the direction of the Haynes manual I done mine a 0.004mm-0.006mm why are you at 3/5 Ave saw a few videos using 0.003mm-0.005mm?
Hello, I have a problem with Derbi Senda, with the engine off, it changes all gears when it is on, only a1 and 2, when I put a3, only the lever goes up, but it does not change
thank you! I had originally skipped the first part of the video where he mentioned it! There is a second arm that holds everything in place, it literally dropped out with no pressure on the lower tca
Hi mate I’ve got an rx50 d50b0 and I drained my transoil and it’s purple so I know the coolant is mixing with it somewhere somehow could you please help and tell me what or where it could be leaking in from
Hello Wee Baldy Biker. I have to make 225 brownies for an event. Do you think your chocolate brownie recipe is adaptable for different fillings? Eg: Oreo chocolate brownies? TIA 😊
I've not had a chance to get near the rs50, didn't think I was going to be this busy, I'm going to try and fit it in some way so it's ready for summer.
Before putting the casings together did you check you could select gears 18:35 Theres a washer top and bottom of the drum and a small roller to locate the cam plate. Here's a link to a exploded view of the gearbox www.fowlersparts.co.uk/parts/5917153/rx-sx-50-chassis-number-prefix-zd4pvzd4pv000zd4pva00zd4pvb00zd4pve00/gear-box I have no connection with that website

Hi mate I’m tryna replace the water pump for a 2010 Debi senda it’s my first bike you reckon I would be able to replace it the same way you did in the video or would it potentially look different
Great series to watch Brian. About to buy a non restored 1977 GT250 B model so looking forward to it. Shite roads out your way. Their condition leaves a bit to be desired when riding bikes
when I saw the water pump pliers come out I had to cringe, Motorcycle Suspension adjustable Hook Wrench are best for not screwing up the collet clamps, those GT engines were great for piston swaps and rebores, I used to take my RD barrels to the shop Saturday morning get bored buy two pistons and be back on the road by tea time, Our kid had a GT250A candy apple green,
I was getting a knock going over a bump in the road, also when I jacked the car up there was movement in the rear wheel. The way I done that is, jack up under the lower suspension arm, get someone to press the brake and you try and turn the rear wheel back and forward, if there's any movement that usually shows wear in the joints. I used a trolley jack for that.
I was lucky on this video, I should have mentioned you need a puller, I use a old puller for a Austin mini clutch, here's the yamaha part number 90890-01362
Many thanks for this video, going to be tacking this job soon myself, very helpful. I'm on 170k. Already replaced entire front suspension. I'm going to need to repair sills and rear arch + thoroughly waxoyl the car too.
This slide show is so helpful, just starting this job on my 2012. How much does the subframe and diff weigh? is lowering the subframe and diff manageable with a jack only? How did you do it. Also did you need to buy the BMW X5 bush tool or can those bushes be removed with a push/ pull tool like for the rear ball joints?
I lowered the complete subframe with a trolley jack and a batton of wood. Once it was out I used my engine crane to move it about, it's a 2 man lift without it. To renew the 4 subframe mounting bushes, you'll need the special tool for that.
Hi mate, do you know what size the thread was on the flywheel?. I need to buy a puller as i'm rebuilding my sons SX50 but would rather not buy the wrong one. Cheers
