All ground is connected through the chassis, however there are many electrical components with switched grounds in the DeLorean like lamps for the engine compartment, glove box, interior dome lighting, door lights, etc. They can be identified with the purple/white ground wire. Fortunately the cigar lighter illumination bulb is not one of these switched grounds. The switched ground is needed for these other components because the +12V is always hot.
DPI states of their modern Spal fans: “Delorean Industries high flow fan/stainless fan shroud upgrade. 5.4 amp draw per fan with combined flow of 1675 cfm.” For the factory OEM Dave McKeen stated “I have seen some OEM fans drawing 15 amps or a little more. Not seen anyone state their 20 amp fuse has blown.”
Oh yeah and the OEM fans consume 15+ Amps EACH...that is why the circuit breaker for the cooling fans is rated for 40 Amps. so total load of 30+ amps for the OEM fans together versus about 10.8 amps combined for the Spal fans.
@DeLoreanTECH Wow yeah that's a huge difference. It's no wonder my AC and fans are dipping the volts down to 11. I installed Dave's solid state relays and now will get the DPI fans. Is there a difference between DMC's new fans and Delorean industries? Dmc doesn't show the amps on their new ones but dmc industries does. I'll probably go with the ones you recommend from dmc industries. Thanks again!

I actually like the rims myself. It’s very difficult to put other style rims on the DeLorean, and achieve a better look. However, these ones do not overly detract from the DeLorean styling. Plus, he needed larger rims to accommodate the larger brakes. The 14/15 inch wheels do not cut it.
This subject was discussed for years on DMCTalk and it was determined that the Workshop Manual gave the dwell values with the meter set to 4 cylinder (without mentioning it and despite stating set to 6-cylinder). As such the accepted setting is the 4-cylinder scale. The Actron unit I use does not have a 4-cyl scale so we divide the stated pulse ratio by 2 and use the 8-cylinder scale. Now, according to the Manual the pulse ratio for normal operation is 35-45 degrees in 4-cylinder mode (without stating so) with a center of 40 degrees (20 degrees using 8 cylinder). Reading through DMCTalk it appears there is guidance recommending 30-40 (15-20 on 8-cyl) degrees and 35-45 (17.5-22.5 on 8 cyl) degrees. When adjusting, it is better to have the needle swing past the 20 degree mark than the 15 degree mark for this reason (best practice for me based on the mixed advice on DMCTalk). Thank God I live in Bunker Hill West Virginia. No emissions here at all!! One thing is I dont understand how his exhaust is THAT low? I've seen other 3.0 swaps and it was fine.

The entire history given in this video is incorrect. Eagle was an AMC model... which Chrysler used a brand name to sell rebadges: the Premier (Dodge Monaco), Talon (Mitsubishi Eclipse/Plymouth Laser) and Summit (Mitsubishi) upon the purchase of AMC The PRV v6 was designed in an alliance between Peugeot, Renault and Volvo.
So his history on the Eagle is off. Prior to 1987, AMC had partnered with Renault and was producing and selling the Eagle as an AMC model, I believe the only remaining AMC branded model at that point, they were building Renaults in the US in Kenohsa Wisconsin at the AMC plant, they were Renault designs just US MFG, probably just final assembly type stuff, and had unique model names different from their European counterparts. In 1987 when Chrysler bought AMC, mostly to get the Jeep brand, they ended up with the soon to be released Renault Premiere, instead of scrapping it, they spun off the Eagle brand in 1988. The Premiere was one of the models they produced and sold as Eagles, they migrated over to Chrysler / Mitsubishi / Diamond Star products over time and phased the brand out. So no, Eagle as a brand, and Eagle Premiere as a model did not pre date the Chrysler acquisition.
