@@n10npt26 Hi, do you mean the small one on the left? If yes, that one goes into your radiator. Here is a video I made that will help you... Go to 12:55 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ktZY29VX390.html
You are exceptional with explanations regarding your Ford and how to do maintenance. Were you able to buy the other green silicone hoses. Also have you done a video on how to clean or polish up the chrome rear bars. Thanks
Much appreciated Dave 👍 I could not find the remaining green silicone hoses anywhere - the best I could do was find a Chinese company on Alibaba who makes these hoses from scratch, and ask them to manufacture a set. With the chrome bars, I did polish mine but did not make a video... I found that an orbital polisher, or a battery powered drill with a sponge attachment, plus some metal polishing compound worked amazingly. Although the stuff that comes off the bar goes flying everywhere, and needed a bit of clean up afterwards, so highly recommend doing this outside. Very much appreciate you watching the Falcon vids!
Appreciate you commenting Dave, and glad to have you watching! I hope the vid helps, and check out the others in the series too if you like 👍 ru-vid.com/group/PLof3-wBOirGH3CC2OEwG5Y0ikyrd-om5g
I agree,I've generally overdone oil changes.Just suprised gearbox and engine as sweet as when new with gearbox top ups to 148K.I was doing engine oil changes every 4-5K miles, but coming out really too clean at that mileage (petrol engines). So now do it around 6k,oil still brownish tint. Fortunate enough to buy new cars last 25 years, guy with my ex car above as been a good experiment to prove regular oil changes really do prolong life of engine etc. Just for interest (or not) its a 1.25 Fiesta 4 cyl.Only major bits its had are 4 suspension arms, and clutch and alternator only just gone, new battery same time.Obviously had brakes and consumables ,but it does'nt owe him anything..!
You're most welcome Allan, enjoy bringing her the BA back to life mate. If you need a few more Falcon Ute DIY vids, here is a playlist on my ute - thanks for your comment and for watching 👍 ru-vid.com/group/PLof3-wBOirGH3CC2OEwG5Y0ikyrd-om5g
If we do not seal the connection between the glass and the plastic cover with a dedicated rubber compound, the whole job is pointless. The first rain and the filter will be wet and there will be a smell of moisture inside.
Hey mate I don’t have the original key and after I’ve done everything when I unlock the car it beeps and makes a locking sound but doesn’t lock or unlock
Hey mate, I never tried this without a genuine key, but I'm guessing having it would be very important to this whole process... only because it's the key that initiates everything by putting it into the key barrel. I wish I could offer more advice than that 😐
Damn the interior is a different story compared to exterior. I really want to get one of these at some point in my life. We got them with the 3.0 (essex) V6 engine in my country. That engine in a single cab 4x4 would be very cool for me. Having a carburated engine and something with a distributor would also be beneficial for me to learn how they work. Small carbs I have worked with, but ones on car are unknown to me.
These are great little mini trucks brother - so easy to work on and cheap to maintain. I thoroughly enjoyed bringing this little beauty back to life (hint, I completely overhauled this car, including the color). Check out the full series here 😉 ru-vid.com/group/PLof3-wBOirGHtUzwbXiPifRSqnJco9Mu_
WARNING MUST BE WATCHED MUTED BECAUSE OF INAPPROPRIATE MIND NUMBING VOMIT INDUCING BACKGROUND MUSIC. What is wrong with you people who need your feeble minds constantly inundated with this Tweedle Dum Tweedle Dee Ga Ga Pooh background music?
Had a car from new, another member of family had it after me.148,000 miles now.Changed engine oil every 6k miles but just changed transmission now at 148k (coz he s tight) BUT engine and gearbox still sweet..!
That's good to see brother. Sounds like it's had an easy life. The idea behind changing transmission fluid on a regular basis is to make sure it will be fine when the miles get really high. Example: a trans that's on 200k plus, and has had regular fluid changes will be in a lot better shape than one with no fluid changes whatsoever. Depending on mileage per year and the type of use of course, if you can change your trans fluid every 2-3 years, you will likely never need a new transmission.
Nice Ute 👍 I have a 2007 Ford Falcon BF MkII Ute which runs on LPG. I find them quite reliable for my needs. My only concern is the availability of LPG gas as I know some service stations have removed them in recent years. Anyway I like your RU-vid site which is educational.
Appreciate you watching mate, and I hope you get a chance to check out the rest of the Falcon vids on the channel.. I'm in Sydney and people have been telling me online for over 10 years that LPG is going away. Well it has to a degree, but there are still over a dozen petrol stations in my area that sell LPG. in that time, the car paid itself off twice over with what I've saved over paying for petrol.
Yeah there's definitely nothing called 'lifetime oil'. When manufacturers say filled for life, "life" means till the end of the warranty. After that they don't care. I would definitely change my transmission fluid every couple of years.
Nice job with the video. I was wondering how did you find the trim peices to change the air vents or do you have the model numbers for those parts? Ford territorys would of that model would probably use the same to do you think? Keep up with the great videos they are a big help to people like me trying to learn about fixing things on my 06 BFII.
Hey mate thanks for your comment and for watching 👍 You will find the trim pieces on BAs mostly, that did have the 2 slot vents to begin with. When you grab the vents, grab the trim pieces too... I'm not sure whether these will match the ones on the Territory, but I'm assuming YES...
Hi, I made this work a couple weeks ago and you can save some time by taking out only the calipers without their holders and make the brake discs to "slide" out (Yes the brake disks can come out with the caliper holders mounted on). Then you can work freely on the bearings.
I work professionally as a mechanic. Your guide perfectly prepared me for what I was going to find and run into on this particular make and model. A+ vid, bro. Guys like you help technicians everywhere.
Wow, I consider it such a great compliment receiving a comment like this - it makes all the hard work worthwhile. Thank you, and thanks for your support 👍 Where are you located? The States, Australia, Europe, somewhere else?
Joys of 1 tonners, only have to install the cab skirts and that's it, and you don't get the crunch and crackle over speed humps or dips if you haven't lowered it.
Another solid video, Just straight to the point with everything! We specifically produce LEDs for auto. Can we invite you to do a review for our product? We have emailed for an inquiry.
FYI: The Ford shop manual calls for draining the power steering fluid at the fitting on the left side of the power steering cooler, which is on the opposite side of the engine from the A/C compressor and its pulley.
Thanks for asking... the Alfa proved to be VERY reliable, so the maintenance videos stopped and I just drove it. Eventually it went to a friend, but I'm thinking about getting another one. Probably a V6 this time...
