A stock 750 H2 I’d guess would do 13.2 in the quarter mile. I had one back in the day and also a typically modified 1970 SS 396 Chevelle that did 12.7’s. So just remembering how they compared. What is the reality?
I've got a rack about 5 ft tall with what looks to be the same amps but there is more stuff some other panels a what looks like a mixer some preamps maybe and what looks like power supplies or cross overs don't really know what l have then a dozen or so Western Electric mono amps running quad 6L6 outputs how can I find out what these things are?
@@smokinjoeh2750 wouldnt happen to have a vid of the internals of it would ya. Sounds like a servo motor for a rc car but i cant wrap my head around how its actually operating
Found your channel after stumbling across Cycledrag. I wasn't aware super eliminator was still going, remember that from the mid '80's. If you don't mind, I did a bit of an analyst on your run, as I was intrigued as to how many revs you may be running the engine to above the factory 7krpm max. 1st gear maxed to 9900rpm change to 2nd dropped to 9030 then peaked again to 9900 change to 3rd dropped to 9260. After that the wind noise drowned the engine noise. Having been involved with modern 2 stroke designs, a trip back to 1970's tech is quite an eye opener. I think you said in your Cycledrag interview that 160bhp was the best that could be dragged out of an H2 engine before it got unreliable or very expensive. I fished out the H2 specs and ran the numbers. At 160bhp @ 9700rpm (i guessed a 200rpm difference between PP and PR thinking there's not alot of over-rev to be had with these engines) that engine is 'only' putting out BMEP of 10bar @ 20m/s. Not alot, but good going for an air cooled 2 stroke that started with the factory porting as a base and the painfully over square 71x63mm BxS cylinder. I suspect the thermal limits of the design are being approached by the runners of this engine, i'd be interested in what fuel you use.
Hello, and thank you for sharing your experience! I don't trust the mechanical tachometer accuracy. I'm running a Zeeltronic programmable ignition and I believe the rev limiter is set at 9k on this particular bike. I run Sunoco Standard (Cam-2) fuel in all of my two strokes
@@smokinjoeh2750 Good to see Borut products are being appreciated across the pond, he's a talented fellow. Looking at the MSDS for the Sunoco fuel, it's very similar to Avgas100(green) minus the anti-freeze and detergent compounds. With the amounts of TEL, do you ever suffer plug fouling while waiting on the stage with the engine at idle? What plugs are you now using and do you run wasted spark?
Hi! The heads are small to keep weight to a minimum. Thermal mass is not a problem because the bike only runs for a few minutes at a time, with a 150+ mph wind blowing on them. Thanks for your question 👍
Freaking awesome Joe!! my 1st motorcycle was a 72 suzuki GT550 triple, then my father gave me his 74 H1 500. i kick my self to this day that i sold any of them. Your kaw triples are amazing man. i have always wanted to express my appreciation to you for keeping them old girls alive! peace and love to one triple brother from another. really enjoy the videos you share with everyone and i would love to meet you one day! i absolutely love your grape ape H2! peace and love to you and your family!
I do build some H2 stuff for people. The bike on the lift is a complete drag bike build that I'm about to finish up for a local racer. I'm a bit booked at the moment but will have some time for new projects a little later this summer of you are still in the market.
@@smokinjoeh2750 yes I am serious about getting this done I have a new vintco crankshaft I have a 6 of 71 engine I'm in the process of getting the cylinders off right now I had to make a jig to get them off you know how much much of a pain in the ass they can be I have two perfect Transmissions 3 ignition setups I have a set of Ralf schipmann heads I have SSO heads on my bike now but I've had a set of schipmann heads before and they work really well plenty of parts of I love the way your purple 73 runs I would like to have something like that that's fast and still streetable by the way my name is Dean not Jonathan I would like you to build it and tune it I had Paul gast Port my cylinders I have on my bike now it runs pretty good pulls hard up to eight grand how to set a K2 tax on it right now would be M 34 is what UFOs how can I get in touch with you thanks Dean
@@jonathanduran1773 Dean, be very patient with those cylinders! I've had motors that I have spent hours a day for weeks to get the cylinders off of safely. The Vintco cranks are very nice in regards to precision and superior materials. Please shoot me an email at racebikepilot@yahoo.com and we can work together on creating a path forward. Regards Joe
I built some low budget exciter speakers also. They sounded very good. That turned into me building some very very expensive exciter speakers using resonant exotic woods, individual subwoofers and tube amps that are simply audio Marvel's. This technology is very underrated. Nice job.
Thoae reed valves sound like they need new aprings 🤔 The popping sound coming from the exhaust are largely due to weakened valve springs that have a slow return. edit : Yup, all of that smoke coming out of those pipes proves it!
When not having enough knowledge to talk about something, then doing so and publicly embarrassing yourself in epic fashion while trying to sound smart Two strokes have no valve springs genius hence "two stroke" 🙄🤣
It's the sound! Bring your purple 750 to Daytona bike week one year and crack it down main street. I listen for two strokes every bike week,.....very few.
Everyone I've ever talked to who owned a Kawasaki 2 stroke triple was sorry they ever got rid of it myself included. I had a KH 400 after I got out of the USMC and rode it for years and finally sold it. BIG MISTAKE!
