I noticed that you refer to Baron Von Barron as Sam Sinister's sidekick in couple of your videos. I always assumed that Baron Von Barron was the main villain and Sam Sinister (Slyboots) was his henchman. Apart from that, love your reviews!
This whole series has been amazing. Thank you! One thing that struck me is that these sets were actually pretty expensive. $30 in 1998 is ~$58 in 2024, which for 260 piece is a lot! Still awesome sets though.
it was much higher then that.Stop comparing adventurers piece count by todays standarts Phaorah Forbidden Ruins over 650 parts is todays 6200 piece Rivendell Look what Flagship offered by lego I barely remember how my uncle hold my hand and we go into lego shop and bought 5986, when we come back everybody shouted at me for how expensive and massive the box was
This set was an obsession for me as a kid. I saw it on store shelves but my parents wouldn't buy it for me. And as a kid I would imagine owning it, and would think about how Sam died, and when I got my first lego skull at Lego land, I gave him a top hat to recreate Sam
hi, I inherited 40 pounds of lego and have been sorting/cleaning up. I have researched a bit- this is the first video I've looked up as there were obvious pirate parts (flags, treasure coins etc) all throughout. So with this help (and some sites) I will collect all the pieces I can from the original black seas barracuda set. There's no box etc etc...Will it be worth my time to do this and sell it on eBay????
@TrikBrix On 3:11 Can you please tell me a quantity, part names and colors i need to buy to do this modification as you did for all sails in this ship? I want to do exactly what you did. Also on 9:30 What exactly parts, quantity and names (of parts called) and colors i need to bought to do what exactly you did this in modification?
I find those stacked rifles strange. Why not replace them with brickbuild gatling gun? I loved big ugly rock pieces as a kid. If they made sets much cheaper, even better.
So weird watching these reviews as an adult. These sets were never translated to my language, so as a kid I made up my own stories. Even the names. There was limited internet, so how was I supposed to know names like Johnny Thunder, Rudo Villano or Doctor Lightning? To me they were Indian Jones, his grumpy brother and their father (the one played by Sean Connery). XD
I had all the Western sets back as a kid, apart from the Indian ones. Sold them about 10 years ago for dirt cheap just to free up space. I regretted it. Especially since my sister has a kid now who would probably love it in a year or two.
2:53 i have an answer for 1271, thought I left it here long ago but I'll add it in now: As a kid I remember recieving Jungle Surprise in a very unusual combo pack. Another set contained was 5900/1094 Johnny Thunder. The box was decorated in green, so it feels very Adventurers themed. Was there a 3rd set? My memory fails me. But there was another product: LEGO Rock Raiders for the PC, in a jewel case and CD artwork of the Chief close-up in full color. A full instruction manual was included as well, bursting at the seams of the plastic case cover. Now where can you find this multi-pack? I'm still searching myself. I recall this was available from KB-Toy Works in my hometown, but I have no idea if it was an exclusive there either. I have yet to see a photo resurface of this combo pack, let alone a sale listing past or present. I'd just love to find it again one day to affirm my memory.
Sucks LEGO not give to buy old sets and old pard Ho breake destroy and old be nice print not noob stickers Ho ar cheap and show LEGO don't cerę for ther costumizers
This set was my huge dream, I perceived it absolutely stunning as a kid and I still do, though I never had it, I think some of my friends did have it. Jesus, it's marvellous, and those bandits minifigs - just awesome.
I actually still have this set from when I was a kid. The parts are scattered in part containers, but I kept the box that it originally came in so I still have all the pieces.
A thought: What if the idea of the booby trap for this set is to be a "false tomb" meant to skewer thieves while the real treasure was to the left the whole time? Classic misdirection type of deal.
I'd add bout 6 skeletons with headdress from oasis ambush spears OR probably better the sword that Egypt soldiers used (brickwarriors) nice items to use for different figures lol. I'd customized the entrance and have two of those anubis statues or try to get two standing like the medium sized ones in the back guarding the ruby there's so much to update on this set but I really wish that they made a newer version of this for its anniversary but it'll never happen 😑😒
