I was skating the other weekend with my kids and I took a really bad fall after trying to power slide around a corner. I had bloody knees and a scraped elbow, got up, wiped off the dirt and rocks, and kept on skating. I told my kids that it’s ok to fall and that sometimes the falls hurt, but you can’t let temporary pain stop you from getting back up.
Natalie, so sweet of you to share! I hope that you are doing well! I found you on RU-vid a couple months ago when I got into Longboarding, at 27 😅 after having 3 kids! I used to dance and kickbox, but having kids I got bad posture and put 15lbs more on my weight on my right foot! Long boarding has been healing post babies! I love watching your videos it inspires me to learn more! Get excited to go back on my board. I pray you come to know Jesus, he is there for me in everything.

that takes alot or balls, well guts in this case. im a beginer n i messed up my ankle so badly on a ramp today. i kinda fell down like a bitxh n my back foot was still on the board so i sprained the shit out of it. jt hurt so badly, probably not the best idea to go on the high ramp on my first visit to the skatepark
Nice video. My carry when long boarding is a bit different. I try and go as minimal as I can so it is a sling bag for me. In that bag, I have a power bank for my phone, a pen & pocket notebook, 1 or 2 quality pocket knives like benchmade or spyderco. A bandana or hank.I have a gem of a skatetool called the leatherman grind. Also, and really important is a flash light, my choice is the stream light wedge. Being in the SF bay area and how filthy it can be I try to remember hand whipes. Only thing I can think of to make it perfect is to have a CCW to carry a pistol.
I've experienced your advice on returning to a trick later with music. I started on recorder to piano to trumpet with lessons from Allen Colin and stayed with that for about 20 years until I could no longer keep up the muscular tension needed in the lower back ribcage muscles, so I turned to the fife when someone gave me a brass fife hand made in Afghanistan and with Sir james galway's 2min:27sec video, I learned the correct embrasure and begane to average 10 hours a day for 8 weeks l; no break. After, I stopped cold and didn't do it for a few months and when I came back, I was rested and sounded as good and even better after the break.
I don't get it.. I skate all my life like MONGO, but if you skate, you skate regular right? And if you skate mongo you can quickly do a frontside pop-shovit as well. So I don't get the "problem" some people make (at skateparks) about mongo pushers. I love it, and I also can push goofy, but mongo feels sooo good haha 🙃You also can fall faster if your board is stuck at goofy, and with mongo your board pops up and you can run next to it You also can steer better with your backfoot when pushing.
