On my way to be a principle fisherman, this channel will record my journey. I am majorly doing bank fishing in Washington state, both fresh water and salt water. Learning and skills will be shared in this channel too.
Do all those winter piers have lights already or did someone bring those? I remember my parents taking me to do this as a kid and it was a blast and i eant to bring my daughter this year when i come visit WA for Christmas!
We bring our own light over there. Let me know when you are going to be in Seattle area, we can create a memory for your daughter. I should be in town around that time, if not, I will ask one of my friend to bring light.
Thanks for the tips bashi!!! I've been having a lot of trouble pulling up squid while others have been pulling up easily. I was always trying to figure the depth or jigging motion. Great video.
@@BashiWAFishingI like them these fish taste good when you fry them but not very healthy if they are eaten more than once a week. Mercury levels gos up which can result in health issues later in the life.
@@BashiWAFishing 👍 Black sea bass has mercury, while black cod is a large predatory fish that should be avoided by pregnant women, women planning pregnancy, and young children. Mercury is a contaminant found in fish that can affect the nervous system and brain develop.
@@BashiWAFishing oh nice. I had a little trouble pulling some up. What depths do you usually go to? Because I'm more used to winter squid where they are usually at the bottom
Ill be heading out there September 5. Think its still a good time to fish? Ps. I never knew you could get rock fish out there. You alone have motivated me to give it a shot!!!
Early September should still be good. If you have never been there before, watch your every step, it's quite dangers sometimes, never step on wet rocks or any seaweed.
Westport was pretty decent for me yesterday. Caught and lost 2 lingcods, one broke off as I was reaching for it on the rocks and the other slipped out of my hands and into a deep crack between 2 boulders. Caught countless kelp greenlings ranging from small to large, a few black rockfish with the biggest being around 2.5 lbs. It was frustrating to lose the lings but all in all, it was a productive day lol. While I've tried fishing the gamut of rockfish lures, a simple high low rig with about 3/4oz to 1 oz of lead and 4 inch gulp minnows always produce fish consistantly.
Congratulations brother. It's so much fun there, wish it's not 6 hours round trip drive for me. I can do jetty fishing all day long and everyday if I could. How far did you go?
