A Maintenance Technician by profession and a natural Jack-Of-All-Trades, I have been working on my own (mostly) junk vehicles for 30+ years. Sometimes out of necessity, but mostly for hobby. Thusly I have deemed myself to be a "Certified Shadetree." With that out of the way, I'll unashamedly admit I am what you would call a Connoisseur of fine GM vehicles. On my channel, I will show you helpful DIY tips and tricks from a late model Chevy/GM enthusiast's point of view, with the occasional product review thrown in for good measure. Hey, I was wondering why you didn’t have to go though a HVAC relearn or calibration? Everything I’ve read about this job has suggested a calibration for the units to work at all, and I’ve replaced them 4x now and still having the same issue with clicking
@@CertifiedShadetree well I have no idea what position is right and wrong, I think one or multiple were installed incorrectly with the position bc it’s all sorts of nice and wonderful
@@zainemurad8937 😬 Might have to find someone with a Tech II or clone of one to perform a relearn (or buy yourself one.) A VCX Nano is only $120 on Amazon. 2 saved trips to the dealership will easily cover the cost of it.
I did the one on the left of the glove box last weekend and I realized if you plug the new one up and start the engine it will turn, took 2 times to start the engine to get it lined up but it worked.
How you doing, which backup camera are you using? I’m using the ATOTO AC-HD02LR 720P Rearview Camera with a S8 Premium head unit and its not working. Thanks in advance.
@@Theanimebois I have the 3LR birds eye view camera. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DxTYSfwKOtk.htmlsi=D7r7fXRSoVNMeSgF Link is in the description of that video.
to be fair you used probley the worst led brand and bulb design. its litterally the first led to pop up on ebay. yes its got 5star rating but that doesnt mean anything. shoulda went with a brand like lasfit or to be even more fair use a morimoto 2 stroke led wich is comparable on price and quality. your video isnt a fair comparisson. either way both bulbs are not ideal for a halogen projector but this has been proved for a few decades now. now to retrofit a mini d2 in the housing and it will really blow your mind
Yeah, I didn't give much thought into the brand of LED lamps I was using. Still not going back to LED, though. I might eventually go this route, however: www.theretrofitsource.com/morimoto-retroquik-spec-d-CRK-RQ-SPECD?quantity=1
Getting there, I was doing everything you said trying to get the PCV valve out in the surge tank hose exploded on me in the middle with the fittings it just disintegrated. The PCV valve was completely clogged just like you said it would be and I accidentally cracked the tube and the pcv hose.
Look in your trunk under the carpet for the SPID sticker. On it will be a bunch of 3 character codes. They are the codes for all of the options your car has. Look for code AP3. If it has AP3, then your car has remote start and you can program a fob with the remote start button to it. If not, then you will have to install an aftermarket kit if you want remote start.. **Edited to say AP3, not AP8**
No clue. I'm sure it would take an ASE master certified tech less time than a shadetree mechanic. I'd say tally up the time it takes you, divide it by half, and multiply that by the average hourly rate a shop would charge. Add in the cost of the parts (and inflate the price, of course) and a typical "shop supplies" charge and you might be in the ballpark. Oh yeah, don't forget to add sales tax!!

Great video! I will be installing two oil catch can on my 2018 Traverse. I been searching videos on a guide on how to instal an oil catch can on these 2nd gen Traverse, but had no luck. As the most i ever find is on the 1st gen traverse only which is different design than the 2nd gen traverse. Im not sure if i need two or just one.
FYI, the engine in the 2nd Gen Traverse is essentially the same engine that's in the Impala from 2012 to 2020. The only difference is they added auto stop/start to it and renamed it from LFX to LFY. That said, I looked up the PCV hoses on RockAuto and the dirty side hose, although longer, looks identical to the one on the LFX. www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/chevrolet,2018,traverse,3.6l+v6,3438973,exhaust+&+emission,positive+crankcase+ventilation+(pcv)+hose,11784 The clean side hose has a filter of some sort on it. Not sure if that's an actual oil separator or what, but I would suggest discarding that altogether and installing a clean-side oil separator. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hu57lGzxiRY.html
@@eugenew6717 Amazon is probably confused, due to the Impala proper being an all new model in 2014, and the Limited being a carryover model. I always search for a 2013 Impala regardless of the storefront to cut any confusion. Think of it this way; Chevy made the 2013 Impala in 2014, 15, and 16 and called it the Impala Limited. So every Impala Limited is an unchanged 2013 Impala..
I have had the same issue lately . Like the ac delco water pump gasket in 2021i bought one was correct one now same exact part says won't fit my 2013 Impala even though I know it does as it's on the dam car and there's more than that it's like Amazon forgot to update there app I purchased locking gas cap and says it fits but no bueno it dont fit .anyways its not just you .always go to a local or manufacturer parts site snd make sure your getting thr correct part number. Thanks for the heads up though i thought it was just me lol 😂😂
I was driving my 2013 with the big 3.6 back home from work and after a brief 55 mph run I turned onto another 55 mph road, got up to about 45 mph and the car would not shift into gear. The engine took off on it's own and revved to 7k rpm and hesitated to rev down even without using the accelerator. I stopped and cycled the ignition but it didn't help much, engine never lost control after that but I noticed that the points where gears shifted were off, a slight hesitation and shudder before going into gear. I've been having shifting problems like in this video since 2018 at 86k miles, but nothing strange like that ever happened.
@@CertifiedShadetree Possibly, the TCM seems to suffer from the common problem that a 6T70 offers, the gears and other hardware doesn't have irregular wear so it's likely the solenoids that make it shift roughly. I visited a shop to see what they could find and they said that the shift timing is normal, and all the issues I had written about previously were likely due to a bad wheel bearing. I assume it was a broken magnetic ring for the speed sensor. Vehicle speed, rpm, shifting, and so on, all talk to the bearings to know how fast the car is going, so it would make sense that the car lost comms for that brief moment and made up its own mind on how to drive the car. Only made a few trips so far and it hasn't acted funny yet, just seems a little more hesitant or unsure of what to do after I let off the accelerator than before.
@@aku2dimensional Do you get any warnings on the dash? SERVICE STABILITRAK, SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST, or SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL? You will get those 3 warnings if one or more wheel speed sensors (or their wiring harness) is bad. Never heard of a wheel speed sensor causing transmission issues - the traction control or ABS pump will activate at low speeds if there's an erratic wheel speed sensor reading. I wonder if it's the VSS that's causing the issue here??
@@CertifiedShadetree Got absolutely nothing, no codes, no CEL, ST, ABS, TC, or anything on the dash or DIC. I had the issue come up again so looks like it wasn't the wheel bearing causing that, but at least it doesn't sound like an airplane anymore. Best way to describe it is that it feels like the car is in neutral before deciding which gear to use, driver input isn't connecting with something and using the accelerator only revs the engine up. So far, this only happens on my drive home from work, car sits about 8 hours in total. When I'm home, the car sits for 14 hours overnight until about 7am the next day, and it seems less likely to do this in the morning than in the evening. I don't know if that's indicating anything but it appears to be a pattern. A few things I can think of that's causing this is a corroded wire or a wiring harness shorting to ground, maybe the loom that connects to the TCM. You might know about the ABS wire that goes through the frame, mine was cut open, I fixed it a few years ago but it might be shorting out again. Could have a bad TPS, that would certainly cause lost comms to the trans. Also thought that it could be those solenoids I mentioned before, they engage the gears so perhaps they are finally broken now.
@@aku2dimensionalCheck out the link I have in the description for the TECHM Repair Kit, and sift through the reviews. You'll get a good idea on what it entails to repair those solenoids.
I have sent my recorder in to get fixed,I have replaced my seat belts but haven't plugged them in yet. I have a airbag a d wheel to put in also, should I install the airbag and wheel, and plug in my seat belts in before I install the recorder and plug that in?.
