When you don’t believe in god it puts so much pressure on yourself to work it all out to know to understand, when you can put your trust in god it releases all that, it not always possible but keep trying it’s worth it

I am picturing RTE doing the payout at the end of the show and giving the last guy his 35p . “Now Sir will that be cash or Cheque”.

The golden days of Hollywood are gone forever. John Ford and Maureen o Hara if they were alive today, would not want to have anything to do with Hollywood today.

I remember my granny praising this to no end. It had finished by the time I was born, but every now and then my granny would bring up Quicksilver and Bunny Carr, who she absolutely loved. ''A real gentleman'' to quote her.

I emigrated from Leitrim in 1966, and I am still a proud Leitrim man. I remember Joseph Mary Mooney very well, He was a very decent man, who thoroughly deserved the title 'Mr Drumshanbo'.

Have you seen her atrocious interrogation of Sinead O"Connor for Black Dog? Sinead"s first sentence about the misuse of the word "crazy" which Ruby then does repeatedly...At the end she stands over Sinead and grabs her head like that pratt Spanish Socceer coach scruffing her head and saying " getting a buzz cut when you're 15 (sic) IS nuts" WTF & whilst sporting that on her head Trump x Joan Collins in cleaning-lady-red.....see Virtue signalling npd

Gay Byrne was the best interviewer of Women Ive ever seen.( Except for his awful mistakes with Annie Murphy, Bishop Caseys girlfriend/mother of the Bishops son on The Late Late Show) but 1 snafu in 37 years is not bad. Here Gay had to ask 3 standard God related questions in a relatively free ranging encounter to act as a comparator between interviewees in this series called The meaning of Life"

I love Ruby Wax- she's a brilliant interviewer and also great at comedy. WOW- I just did not realise her harsh upbringing. What an interesting woman. OMG Her childhood is so sad, I don't know how she got through it, this is one of the most tragic stories I have ever listened to, it's really touched a nerve.

The theme music and the stunning scenery made the Quiet Man film so memorable The story was pretty much stage Irish of its time. One can't unsee Wayne dragging Maureen O Hara by the hair, or her offering him a rod to beat her. M O H was an undoubted beauty, but she had to play the part of a skittish slightly wild Irish lassie " peeping out from behind The Gate" scene at Wayne which was not very edifying The pub brawl was not Irish cultural norm ,,, hopefully nor the brawl by the river Cripes hopefully not... Beautiful music, beautiful scenery, beautiful girl, John Wayne was a typecast cowboy, but his presence in Ireland caused a sensation in the 50s Stage Irish ,, but enjoyable

Wasn't it sometime in1979 that they caught the Yorkshire Ripper? Looks like his job as a Lorry Driver must have brought Peter Sutcliffe to Co. Leitrim round about the time this was recorded (albeit under an assumed identity _obviously..!)_
