Hey spindatt im on the verge of ordering a frame from them can i contact you for more information about the frame via email or message? Thank you, have a great day and keep up with the channel it’s really fun to watch
Don't use sand to blast aluminum its softer than steel use a plastic bead or soda or nutshell, these will not put millions of tiny nicks in the aluminum surface the way sand can. Unless I am clearing it afterwards and want the frosted look which IS cool if its what I set out to do. The chemical re op looks like it barely got in to the paint surface. It has me wondering if you used one of the water based removers which are crap in my experience with them. Now finally, I only wanted to compliment how nice it finally turned out. I want to showcase the extra jumbo welds on my Rockhopper frame by removing paint and going 2 coats clear. After tuning in to some how-too rather how not to do updates I think I will head straight for the tried and true blaster.
Not when there are people around. My "bike skills" (bunny hopping, manualing, handsfreeing... etc.) are so poor or non-existent that I'd die of embarrassment.
This more than anything defines the essence of biking. You were the biggest kid on the pump track. Pure joy! This is the way I feel every time I get on a bike!
Those kids and the homemade pump track was great. There was always some sort of half arsed BMX track in the woods somewhere when I was a kid. That segment made my day.
I have true admiration for how you interact with kids here and at the pump track and elsewhere, getting them all pumped up and motivated and overcoming their fears. I feel you have a real talent there that you may be overlooking a bit? Anyway great vid as always:)!!
Thanks for doing this on the Norton, I always think about playing around on skate parks but feel my hardtail is too big, 27.5 but in XL. Practicing on those kinds of features might be doable so next time I pass one that’s not too full with scooters and skaters I might give it a go although one on my training route is just a bowl I have no idea how to drop into! 🤣
Eric, have you tried the skatepark in Speyfield? It is very circular and swoopy in design. Also, the high-speed gravel trails of Long Lake Provincial Park are nearby.
About 10 min pedal from my place, there is a community bike park. It's definitely geared towards kids and building skills. I find myself there all the time, riding, for whenever I don't feel like going out for a huge effort on the bike. Nothing better than skills session of fun easy features.
At around 50, we both bought dirt jumpers. 2 years later we're nearing completion of a pumptrack build in the front yard. We're even boosting some small jumps! Basic pumptrack skills improve your trail riding so much, from carrying speed, to boost jumps. We're an hours drive from any pumptracks we know of here in NS. We typically ride it a little every day, weather permitting.
im on the giant website and see no DJ bikes. i just moved to Ireland, im 30 and used to ride bmx as a kid and need a winter hobby as there is not much going on here. I used to ride a giant mtb and loved their bikes, whats the deal?
After watching all your Poseidon FX videos over a couple of years, I just had to have one. I picked it up when it was on sale about a year and a half ago for $150 (US dollars)! I finally built it up this spring. It's an amazing frame, so light and versatile, but way more solid feeling to me than most aluminum frames. A great way for folks to try out off road fixed gear without breaking the bank. There used to be an internal three speed fixed gear hub from Sturmer Archer, I believe. If you ever have a chance to try one on this bike, I'd love to get your thoughts. Here's what mine looks like if anyone is interested: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fyOlmi38kvU.html
Update: Kona World seems to be in the process (no pun intended) of shutting down. As of 18 May 2024, you cannot buy anything from the website....anything at all. They even removed the "find locally" link from each bike page. I was able to order a set of Wah Wah II pedals and received them last week, when things were still available. I've been checking the Kona website daily and May 17th was the last day anything was available. Kona was the victim of bad business decisions by Kent Outdoors, who bought a bike company without having any idea what to do with it. Then, in the face of/on condition of a $100 million outside investment, KO was encouraged to focus on what they actually know how to do, water sports, and divest from the bicycle market.
Thanks for this, I’m currently looking into buying one. Question: How tall are you? Frame/Reach not too small/short? Still waiting for your V2 upgrade video ;)
The Norton is a great frame love the geo. I have a Ragley mmmbop. I think it’s cool how you get past all the mountain bike marketing and brainwashing and show how you can have fun on a simple yet awesome bike.
