Hi! I'm Marie and I'm from France. This channel is a living journal where I document my cultural journey as I explore the world. I like to give a fresh and honest perspective on my experiences 😊 Thank you so much for stopping by my channel, see you in my videos!! ✈️
It's possible that you were ignored, and what I write below is wrong. However, I'm inclined to think this was a cultural issue. Typically in a restaurant in the United States, if you enter then you have to walk to where the hostess accepts guest so you can be seated. If you don't do that, they don't know you're there, are will assume you have some other waitress or you're just waiting for someone. What makes me think that's the issue is that they looked at you, and then looked away when the saw you. You don't usually walk in and just sit down at a table here. Could that apply, or am I wrong because of details I don't know?
Don't buy the winter hate. People come here and stay here for the snow. Skiing season is top tourist time. Ice skating ponds with warming houses and sledding hills are in every neighborhood. Lighted cross country skiing in most regional parks or just your big backyard. Plenty of downhill near the metro, plus great slopes on the north shore. Ice fishing! Every lake turns into it's own city all summer long (and the city and burbs are packed with em). They refuse to leave until their trucks plummet through the melting ice in the spring. Hockey! I mean I don't really care about hockey but for many MNs that is it's own cult. Outdoor hottubs all winter long is the thing! My kids are ecstatic first snow of the year. Ice cycles, eating snow, snow angels, I mean just rolling down a snowy hill. There is endless outdoor fun in snow. People just gotta know how to dress, it's called layers. Base layer, insulating layer, and weatherproof layer. There's no cold 50$ and a trip to fleet farm, or 500$ and at rip to REI, can't fix. And then you get to come inside and enjoy some hot cocoa and a fireplace. Oh can't forget. There is a line, a line across the continent, below which it doesn't freeze over winter. Below this line, the spider population is scary. Yeah we got spiders up here. But go below that line. You will not be prepared for the spider situation below that line. Also, walking on squishy carpet to discover it's a scorpion nest, that's a below-that-line thing. Be glad, be very glad, it freezes over winter.
Very hilarious when people go to moa, I can't remember the last time I was there? I'm so glad I found this channel! I'm glad Minnesota was good to you!
You went to Revere Beach? Ew. Muuuch nicer beaches just a little farther north. Also, a French person complaining about our rudeness? We've really outdone ourselves this time, fellow Bostonians.
A good tune to listen to, to evoke these feelings you're having at this time is John Denver's "Rocky Mountain Suite (Cold Nights in Canada)", off of his '73 album 'Farewell Andromeda', containing the refrain, " The Rockies are living; they never will die". The 70's were his decade.
Anyone that has watched your videos should know by now, you like Mustangs. Just wondering if you have watched the movie "The Last American Hero" ? The movie stars Jeff Bridges. Thanks for the Entertainment ‼️
Never ever ever eat ribs with a fork. They are hand food. Eating ribs with a fork is like using a fork to eat a sandwich. And if you really want to blend in...spoons for tater or macaroni salad. Use the rib bone to push stuff around. Yes...we are animals...lol
Massachusetts woman here. LUCKILY, you left your NU Yankees hat at the hotel!!! Yankess and the Red Sox have been Rivals for Years!! What made you think wearing a Yankees ball cap would be COOL in Fenway Park? You need to Google some things before making a foolish mistake. The gods obviously were on your side because you forgot it at the hotel!
Boston massholes…they’re like that to everyone…just don’t waste your time there … New York City is fast but they’re kinder … if you’re quick they’ll be kind to you if you’re slow they’ll run you over … 😁 in Philly … well…we do things our own way 🤣
Awesome vid as always…Scorpio on that sports car … put his astrological sign on his license plate … weird … that’s my sign as well … but I’d never put it on my license plate .. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 beautiful lake footage …
Always avoid the tourist traps. Ask locals where to go in the summer “In Season “… Those corporate tourist traps only got worse after Covid.. Running restaurants in Boston used to be hard but now it’s dam near impossible…
The kindness of the USA likely stems from the value of our nation's freedoms to express ourselves as we like. We appreciate your opinion and perspective, and with the judeo-christian history of our founding, people are recognized as beloved creations of God. However, We are being challenged today with controversial perspectives of the previous values expressed; so much so that some in our nation would want you to conform to a differing opinion.
Camaro's aren't as iconic and don't grab attention overseas. You can have Lamborghinis, Porsches, Aston's, Ferraris, and other high end cars in a group and if a Mustang pulls up everyone will ignore the supercars and gather around the Mustang.
It's the humidity and coastal areas are just as hot and humid but generally have what we call the sea breeze coming off the oceans that help immensely.
WOW, Marie, what a wonderful gathering of your favorite car for you to enjoy - thrilling for you, no doubt 😍😄, and I so very love that you have such pure excitement and joy on your face and in your smile, even in your voice 🤗🥰 ! That is so perfect Marie, and you put together some pretty well-matched music here to accompany this short video of these Mustangs on Display 🧡😉😇 ! Thank you very much for sharing your amazing experience here with us too 😊💕😉.
If you want to see alll the mustangs. And every other classic car head to Michigan in aug. Usually the 3rd weekend. If you search for "woodward dream cruise" you will find info and pictures.
Hope you have been feeling at home here in Missouri, as we have a TON of French and German heritage in both STL and KC. And indeed all through out the states. Our wineries are even (maybe a bit overstated though) compared to the French wine countries as well as several of our vine lineages come from France and Germany. Also that heat is worse because of the humidity. Makes 95° feel like 105°.
Since you're not used to the heat, please make sure you stay hydrated. It really helps more than you might think. There's a reason so many of us wander around with a glass/cup/bottle so often. Ice water is your friend.
