Hi! We're Adam and Emily from the UK. Two years ago we quit work to follow our dream of sailing the world. We're currently sailing Greece where we're slowly learning the ropes and getting blown where ever the wind takes us!
We're making videos of our sailing adventures, documenting our journey, and trying to keep smiling through all the sailing mistakes and clogged toilets.
If you love sailing then subscribe to get notifications of our new videos, and get up-to-date news from the links below. If you're looking to start a life at sea, our website is FULL of tips and we've just released our 'How To Run Away To Sea' guidebook - 200+ pages of EVERYTHING you need to know about living on a sailboat.

hey thanks for that. Made my life as a Personal Assistant much more easy in getting what my boss needed for this catamaran to enter Greek territory by sea!
For sure! The anchor that came with boat was undersized and we had been trying to find a replacement without success, so we had to do the next safest thing for the boat
Look at Mantus anchor, fantastic. We have never dragged in 8 years full time live aboard. We also stay at anchor all winter as we don't go into marinas for the winter
Best to be at anchor in bad weather in a protected bay. So many people thing tying to a quay is safer! However nothing damages a bot faster than concrete! We have been through 2 Medicanes and winds over 80 knots on several occasions. Always out at anchor and never had damage.
Totally agree! We anchor almost exclusively now we have the right sized anchor for the boat. We feel a million times more comfortable with lots of chain and lots of space!
Terrible audio. Echoey. Audio better after radio broadcasting it sounded like.outside wind noise. Ive watched their video before and no problems. Back inside is better.
This is crazy I know, but I got recommended this video and had a wierd recognition of you. I looked into it a bit more, and remembered that you taught me at school when I was 4 in the bumblebee class. I'm now 16 and its crazy to think I've just now found you're channel!
I just got to know your channel and half a day later i almost watched all of your videos. You two are just too cute. Spending 24/7 on 0.1 sqft is the ultimate challenge, but Adam now you know: she's a keeper 😀 Please keep the sailing spirit alive on your non-monohull ;)
Really love your vibe! heard you on pod cast first now following! We are due our adventure start in 2024 on 40 ft cat, I guess after watching the budget vid the marina costs will go up a bit be interested to see your views on that! I am also really interested to see how you get over teh schengen shuffle! any link? BTW have a 5 yr old and will be chatting to you about some boat schooling !!!
Good luck with your new venture.. I have only just come onto your channel accidentally and I am very pleased I have, I am sat here in the UK 0136 hours in the morning, I should really be fast asleep in bed alas I am not, I am sat here binge watching your RU-vid, you guys look so so happy 😊 😀 well done to you both.. Let me know when you start doing air b and b on ya boat.. it looks like you are living the dream.. Again take care and thank you... Simon
Aww thank you, this comment made our day. Pleased to be providing some entertainment!! We are pretty happy out here 😊 most of the time of course! We're pretty behind on the videos but we'll have more up for you to binge watch asap!!
Looking at your Pelopeneses episodes now to find the great spots. Yesterday arrived in Pylos and indeed loved it! Thanks for all your info, we will continue to follow your (old) tracks
Oh brilliant! I'm so pleased you made it to Pilos, it's one of our top 10 anchorages so far. You've got some good ones to come too, the Pelopennese is so beautiful :)
Hi, today I am blocked at the registration step: I do not receive any emails. I have tried with 3 different emails: same issue. May be an issue with their server sending email at this time. I tried also to register to the newsletter but I got the error message "Κάτι πήγε στραβά. Παρακαλώ προσπαθήστε αργότερα." which means "Something went wrong. Please try again later."
Hi! I'm 17 and just found your blog, which led me to your channel. I first spent a week on sailing boat when I was 11 and immediately fell in love with the environment. My second time sailing was when I was 14, and since then, I've had the dream of living on a sailing boat some day. At 16 I got a job and started saving money for the future, and I'm currently working on that. I find it fascinating that some people like you have the courage to pursue this kind of adventure, and I hope some day I'll be able to do the same. Thank you for inspiring me to see my dream as an actual possibility! Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷 🥰
Thank you for leaving such a lovely comment! It's so amazing that you have a dream like that at such a young age, you've got the time to work towards it and make it come true! Just remember - you'll never be totally ready. Go for it when the time feels right, you won't look back!!
Just found your channel watched this video going back to others now we are selling our house to go sailing next year. You didn't include insurance was wondering costs?
Hi, thanks for watching. Good point, I should have itemised this separately but it's bundled in with our maintenance costs as it's an ongoing yearly fee for the boat. We paid around £400 for the year but obviously each boat is very different, depending on how much it's worth, where and when you're sailing etc. Hope that helps!
I got teared up at the end, too! How lovely! 🥰 Thank you for sharing this tour! Your boat has a lot of nifty features! 😄 I found you through the Live Aboard podcast and am excited to follow along on your adventures! My husband and I live in our self-converted camper van, Luna, that we traveled in full-time for a year and a half. We stopped traveling to build out a school bus into our next home on wheels. And we always talk about learning to sail and buying an old sailboat someday to travel the world.⛵ Thank you for the inspiration and for sharing your lives with us! ♥️
Thanks so much! Sounds like you're having an amazing adventure too!! If you have any questions about living aboard I'm always happy to help. This lifestyle is incredible, can highly recommend!!
It's tricky! You start to get an idea of what boats are selling for when you start shopping around and visiting other boats. Then we start to put together comparison sheets, and add up the cost of the work that will need doing to get the boat to a certain standard, including labour time when we're doing the jobs ourselves. This gives a rough idea of how much we need to get off the price of a really run-down boat, but obviously, it's an estimate and the price ALWAYS creeps! We can do a video about it all if you're interested.
@@44Jamie91 Thanks so much! We will definitely put something together if it will be useful. We're by no means experts but we've been through this a few times now so hopefully we can give some insight. So glad you liked the e-book, will we see you out here some time soon?
@@TwoGetLost Great! We are currently charter sailers, but I would love to take a sabbatical (and maybe more), and follow in your wake. We also have two cats so TC, and how you accommodate your furry family member really piqued our interest. Really love what you're both doing - your content and story are really motivating us to work towards a similar lifestyle. Thanks!
Wooow it looks so big! So much space and four cabins!! You'll turn her into an amazing, super comfy floating home. I'm so excited for you guys! It's incredible what 3 years of neglect can do to a boat. Wow. All your hard work will definitely be rewarded. Congrats!
Thanks so much! It's going to be a tough slog but we're really hoping we can bring her back to life. We also hope we can make her super homely, there's a lot to do!!
Come on you guys , how many times did we teach you how to say Wauquiez? Si says that given how many wasps nest you gave sorted out on Calico how come you bailed on our one????😂😂😂 We are on our way, In Dieppe now so see you on the 15th....xxxxx Ps, love the name!!!!!
🤣🤣🤣 we needed you there as interpreters!! Big difference was, our wasps had been left so long they'd been and gone. Yours were angry someone was back! Has anyone been to sort the nest? Was going to say we could go and try again but guess it's pointless now you've left. We're pretty useless action movie stars :(
Yeah, thanks for risking life and limb and swarms of indignant wasps! Dont worry about round 2, we tore the house apart and couldn't find it, so must be on board.Looking forward to seeing you, we owe you dinner I suspect!
Hey!! Thanks so much! How are you guys? We kept a close eye on Gradisca for you while we were there and she was doing grand, even through that savage storm! Marina wasn't the same without you though. xxx
Wow! First of all, best of luck to Calico and her crew. May you all have fair winds and following seas. I imagine that this is a heart-in-the-mouth moment for both of you! At your age, this is the best thing to do! Challenge yourselves. This is going to be amazing.
Thank you! I know we don't really know each other but it feels as though we do with all the support you've given us, so this comment coming from you means a lot! It was a huge decision but hopefully the right one, and it will mean sailing can be a longer term lifestyle for us, which we're both so excited about!!
I know, we're going to miss looking at Hot Chocolate so much! It was the hardest decision and we still wobble sometimes, but hopefully you'll enjoy the new boat just as much!
Congratulations guys! We are very much looking forward to this next stage of your adventure! You guys and tiny cat are Our favourite RU-vidrs! Hope everything goes well for you! Ross and nadia x
What a lovely comment, thank you so much! We basically bought the new boat for tiny cat 🤣 we can't wait to see her with all that space to run around in. Can't wait to start sharing the progress on the new boat, we'll be putting lots of the day to day stuff up on Instagram very soon x
