This channel mostly covers Nintendo games like Super Mario Bros and The Legend Of Zelda, and I upload 2 videos every week.
Our different types of videos:
Game Theories: In these videos, we analyze the origin, timeline, secrets, mysteries, lore, history, powers and story of characters and events in Zelda and Super Mario.
Top 5 videos: In these videos, we make a list of the 5 best, worst, most epic, etc things or characters in the Super Mario series or The Legend Of Zelda.
The Evolution Of: In this series, we look at a specific enemy or character and see how they changed in terms of gameplay, use, design, and story throughout the years.
NOTE: Not all the theories on this channel where my idea, I get some of the video ideas from the site Zelda wiki, this only goes for the Zelda theories. I also use Mariowikia and Zeldawikia a lot for the lore videos and general info.
To comply with COPPA, this channel is not intended for 13 years and younger.
The abs are armor. Trust me, they deflected a katana by just standing there 😂 Edit: also, how would the Gerudo make use of the damage multiplier on horseback? YOU CAN’T BRING HORSES INTO THE DESERT 😂
The only thing I could say to some of this is environment. The Gerudo live in a tree-light environment, so getting wood to make shields, or certain armor, might not be efficient. They can obviously maintain fires, so they must have something for kindling, but it might not be equipment-rated, if you will. They also live in the desert, which might influence their kit? I'm no Middle East expert, but I imagine in a game that cooks durable Link for traipsing through the desert midday, they can't wear "real armor", as it would burn them, or just retain too much heat, and even the acclimated Gerudo can be overcome by the heat. I'm also kind of glad they DON'T get riding bonuses, since the Gerudo don't "ride". May a charioteer should get the same advantages a horseman might, but they are probably STANDING on their shield, and at least one hand needs to be on reins, so no lancing, or two-handed weapons, since they can't just grip and steer with their legs. I honestly don't even remember if Champion Link can use weapons while being pulled through the desert, by seal, or if he needs to stop, and fight on foot, losing the advantage? I do prefer the OoT/MM spears, though for me, it's because of a self lack of skill. I've never held such a pole arm before, but I imagine it could be tricky to maintain the right alignment of the blade, as you swing the pole in three dimensions, and if you don't hit with the slicing edge, that's a waste of a swing. That's why I am glad lightsabers are round.😊 Since the older spears are more for dedicated piercing, range, and parries, I like that simplicity better. Mostly unrelated, but this is a weapons thing, as well as a "new units Tears could have had" thing, so...I wish the Gerudo gad had people who used wands. I know that they are a Wizzrobe thing, in LoZ, but the Gerudo can have a history with magic use; the two powerful witches who taught Gdorf were Gerudo, as was he. Maybe it's just my aging nostalgia, wanting real callbacks to older games, when some Zora were "bad" (Zola), and spit projectiles, while hiding in deep water, or Moblins with castable javelin spears, and as much as I like the Amazon meets Islam motif the Gerudo cam sport, they DO live in a desert, so it might've been cool to see a few with hoods and cloaks, shielding them from the light, while clutching magic scepters. Especially with the number of aged Gerudo in the town, I guess I was hoping their witchy option had also survived into the Days of Calamity.
As far as I can tell, the Gerudo draw a lot of inspiration from Indo-Persian cultures, and their weapons reflect that. Their short swords pretty much look exactly like a Jambiya (though slightly scaled up since Jambiya were more like knives), and yea, its not a battlefield weapon, its just a self-defense knife. The all metal shields were a thing and there are multiple examples of indo-persian shields that look exactly like the gerudo ones. I dont really see anything wrong with the gerudo spear being primarily a thrusting weapon now. When it comes to weapons, its usually better to focus on doing one thing really well than doing a lot of things just kind of okay. I do agree that the golden claymore is complete fantasy. On the topic of gerudo mounted combat, while its not in botw or totk, OoT did seem to show they were fond of it. We see ganondorf frequently on horse back and they have a horseback archery range. Its possible they ride horses or have some other mounts like the sand seals.
Also consider. What we saw in history is that as soldiers gained more armor, shields became smaller and smaller until they were basically non-existent. Gerudo wear enough to protect their vitals, but they likely highly rely on using their shields effectively or keeping their opponents out of reach.
Even out of only 13 episodes, I only ever saw maybe half of them as a kid. I still think some of the episodes had some really cool ideas that would have been fun to explore with a higher budget and better writing.
My big issue with the gerudo armor is that it doesn't protect from the sun or heat. These girls got some wicked sunscreen being out here 24/4 with barely anything on their bodies. There's a reason why desert dwelling folk wear those lightly colored wrobes. They're breathable, they protect from the sun, and UV rays are reflected by the light color of the fabric.
As someone mentioned, the gerudo women are literally 9 feet tall and very healthy. Cuz they can bear young and of course have no health issues for being that tall. And most likely they train those heavy weapons everyday so yes, their rock hard abs are not for show. Also I agree that their armor sucks, and they don’t even display their agility in the two games. Before anyone tries to defend them for not doing acrobatics, cuz when you see them fight, they can get knocked down kinda easily, Lizalfos can literally leap backward to avoid your attacks. And Link can do a back flip. So if they want to show the gerudos agility, have them jump back or do a cool flip. But despite that, again I agree that their armor sucks. But their weapons make sense for giant women with biceps that can match a Goron.
if you launch from a sky view tower and you scan the area you dont fall (found out at the sky view tower at zora's domain cuz the sky stuff is visible)
Those days are very nostalgic for me. Early in the morning was when the living room television 📺 was turned on low volume because the parents were asleep. The cartoon show was cute for a classic show.
The shield are designed inspiration after ottomom shields, which are designed in such a way to be lightweight and you can have it at the really while firing a bow, the sword at least the scimitar of the seven, it really good, great hand protection, would cut like a demon and gets a great bonus when combined with the silver lynel horn. The clothes for protective value is garbage but if they flipping ditched wearing high heels they would be good for swift attacks and ambushes. Design was the thunder helmet is crap. I would love to see a gerudo style version of a darknut, ottomon heavy Calvary looks very cool
It is common for metal shields to have a lighter weight core. For the spear, having more stabling points reduces the over all damage, due to dispersing the force; though the blade by itself protrudes far enough to do all the necessary damage. The side prongs may act more as a stop, as far as stabbing goes, to keep the blade from getting burred in the target, but I think the blade catching is on brand for a dex. based fighting style.
so i didn't see the male armour getting taken into account, I'm guessing for lore reasons. but they should still have been mentioned even if you were to discredit them from the "final score" again because of lore. also size matters, link is short compared to a warrior Gerudo and so those shields may be a buckler to them.
