Sounds like you have about the same amount invested in a sorted L322 with 400hp as it would take to buy a 300k mile Land Cruiser. The L322 is a much nicer car to ride and drive and now the things you replaced will be good for another 170k miles.
Gotta 2005 myself, just done ✔️ with major services including all the oil seals and gaskets 400,000 kms & still going strong 💪 U care for her & she ain’t gonna ditch you 😅
I live in NYC. 25% of the suv on the road are land rovers. I drive most day into Manhattan. I mostly see the new ones on the road. Just beautiful. Then there me driving around in my 2007 HSE.
Yeah, good old British Leyland parts bin! Those handles were originally on the Morris Marina. Rear lights on the Mk1 Disco are from the Maestro van. Those exact same side repeater lights are on most British cars from the 80s and 90s. Inside door handles, door lock indicators and roof courtesy lights are the same across most of Rover and Land Rover of that period. The list goes on and on 😂
@@AndyK.1 My 7 year chassis up rebuild of a 1978 W. German 2 door Range Rover includes over a dozen Ferrari parts. They were still in existence whereas the RR parts were long gone. I sense there was a lot of overlap between vehicle manufacturers back in the day.
a rare silver (2 dr) 2005 model approx 1hr drive from my house- sat under carport for years - beautiful exterior- had transmission issue then head gasket blew…. had many other issues going on with it when it was drivable …. seems like it woulda been a great deal for ya 🤷🏻♂️
I am a few days way form finishing timing chain replacement on my recently acquired 2011 L322 with 5.0L supercharged engine. I am doing all the work myself. It's been expensive. Overall I would not recommend these vehicles to anyone unless they have deep pockets. My vehicle is going to a new owner sooner than later. Nice looking and nice size vehicle but unreliable.
These FL or LR2 are extremely capable for its class, you should definitely take it on a off road event/trip! Slap some all terrains tires and go wheeling!
Didn’t pay much interest to these until I was given one last January. Really surprised me how nice they are too drive. Decent off road two if you mind the ground clearance.
