I have a 2007 Supercharged L322 and I love it. The bit of money here and there thing is true but it’s for the love of the vehicle. Most things aren’t even necessary, but WE do them because we want to bring life back into these vehicles. Plus, when it’s done, it’s one less thing to worry about for a long time.

Same position. Bought LR3 for a steal at 117K miles, replaced all control arms, tie rods, all brakes, front air struts, front wheel bearings, rebuilt compressor and all 3 valve blocks, glass roof, windscreen cowl, lots of interior bits, door seals, 2x door lock actuator motors, 3rd brake light, wipers, all fluids, lower steering shaft, hood and roof respray... Next is trans service, zip kit, separator plate, solenoids, and seals, followed by fan clutch, coolant hoses, waterpump, and thermostat. I refuse to calculate how much I have spent. It is worth bringing something back from near death, and fills me with joy every time I drive it. If it makes you feel any better, my 2018 Nissan Rogue front strut replacements are $900 before labour.

I had a wooden boat... makes that LR look like a bargain. Still, most new cars run $800/mos, never mind insurance

you've said it before "its not for everyone" but once you drive one and fall in love with these, its completely worth it to maintain these and keep them on the road! I plan to keep mine up for years and years to come!!!

I own two Range Rovers and one Sport....even if you started with a Toyota Land Cruiser or Ford Expedition, you would have a lot of the same issues and costs due to the high mileage and salt belt. The RR does have the air struts and those do not last forever and can be pricey to replace. The rust issue attacks all cars and causes a lot of increased costs when doing basic repairs as you found out with the strut. The tires and wheels added a lot of cost and headaches and were not actually necessary but a "want" item. If I was buying a used Range Rover L322 I would only buy a 2008 and newer L322 west coast unit that was a rust free chassis and start with about a max $10k purchasing budget and way lower miles. There are Range Rovers with under 100K miles for sale, you just have to be picky and take your time.

L322 is one of the greatest rovers. Great on road and offroad.

Must admit for a luxury vehicle its pretty good off road, most old cars are money pits

We bought our D1 for $2500, back in 2011. I heard all the horror stories, but to be honest it was only basic stuff (fuel pump, coolant related stuff, headliner). Still kick myself in the ass for selling it. Oh, and it was a manual..... dammit 😂😢

Good friend has a 2005. Like this got it a low price. All he say when you drive it you get many codes. As lights light up on dash. Joke is how many codes per mile. He is a Land Rover guy from a small kid. Makes you like the classic Range Rover. Less to mess up.

What size of tyres do you have? On my L322 4.2 i have 19 inch rims with Pirelli Scorpion AT Plus, because couldnt find coopers fitting my rims. (have them on my old defender and love it). Get protecton plates, my most expensive repair was when i smashed five or six radiators/coolers in the front with the ice on frozen creek. Also, as i remember, oil pan is plastic. Other then this, i feel lucky with my purchase comparing with the cost of running my land rover defender td5. Totally, in the past two years of ownership, i've spent on small fixes and repair around 2.5k including parts and work. But it's great car, right now im thinking about converting it to weekend overlander.

You never really explained what you ended doing for your wheel setup, hopefully you can elaborate! I know its terrafirmas. But did you end up using spacers and extended wheel studs? Whats your tire size?

No studs, no spacers. 275, 65 18

Sounds like you have about the same amount invested in a sorted L322 with 400hp as it would take to buy a 300k mile Land Cruiser. The L322 is a much nicer car to ride and drive and now the things you replaced will be good for another 170k miles.

I paid $5,000 for mine with 74,000 miles. Only serviced at dealer. I put 2,000 miles on it. I wonder if should try and sell it now? Love it but don't love it at much ha ha

If it’s a l322 supercharged 06 - 09, it’s pretty much bulletproof if you do proper oil change and services, along with replacing coolant hoses and other parts, obv some have been nightmares but the mileage and price for one is crazy if that’s what you got it for

I did get for $5,000. It was from a client. He took care of it. It's just a little ding up from being parked in a New York City parking Garage. The only issue I am having with it sits for a few hours the back of the car sits low. Not sure if it's the compressor they said the rear airbags are fine. I'm gonna delete the air bags.
@WilliamUlchak

@@torreyinnewyorkcity334 I deleted the airbags and converted it to coils, I also had it bypassed so no fault code pops up, truck is beautiful and no suspension problems

Top tip, if you're gonna do a video on a Landrover, don't put a crappy tojo in there with it. Now im cutting to another video, can't be bothered with this .
