Welcome to FastGadgets! What can you expect to find on this channel? Exploration of both old and new hardware, software and useful technology tools for your every day life. Video topics will range from Mac, Windows, Linux and mobile technologies.
I've been working in the IT industry since 1994, spanning both for profit and non-profit organizations. I also have a Master's degree in IT, and all the wonderful student loan debt it comes with. There's nothing like a fast gadget, whether new or old!
Here's the truth that the average Linux sycophant is either too young to remember or too delusional to acknowledge; Linux is often used simply because it is free, not because it is good. You can buy a bunch of licenses to deploy on many machines or you can pay a guy much less to make Linux work for very specific use cases.
Roger and me was filmed by Roger Moore a long time residents that took action by doing a documentary this movie was being filmed when Flint GM was laying off lots of people. Then compare it today
I left for California on 1993 and I’m 1995 I had to close my company. Because of the high crime rate. But most of the employees was Transferred and the ones that did. It want to transfer received a 1 year servants package
It use to be very dangerous, for many years when GM closed lot of the plants. I worked for the City of flint and I seen the crime rates and all the other bad stuff. For many years Flint was number one list for most Dangerous
Will there be a ton of wind noise without the case on? Should I put the case on when I take it motorcycling? I just got the brave 4 to start out with but I haven't used it yet.
It's missing the Linux magic of routing audio through the video driver to the HDMI port. Mint, KDE Neon, etc., produce sound out of the HDMI cable, FreeBSD does not.
Hey! I am a filmmaker from the Lapeer County area and wanted to reach out to you regarding your footage of Flint. I am working on a detective webseries that takes place in and around Flint starting next year and I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind if your video was used in different episodes in snippets? I’ll credit you at the end of each video as a thank you if you’re cool with me using it.
I like that 'refurbishing' part as well. Personally I'm on the lookout for a x1 carbon from 2017/18, for exactly the same purpose. Even here in Vietnam they are very affordable. Nice vid, Mark, thanks!
As someone who is using linux almost 20 years, you are wrong, none OS are easy to use, you have to learn how to use it, maybe is ez for you cuz you has years using windows or mac, gnu/linux is no here to dominate the desktop, it is here to have a freedom to use your computer with FREEDOM where you want it and however you want it, you don't like it or you don't understand it?.. don't use it. macOS users don't understand windows and windows users don't understand macOS, as computer technician i can see it everyday, none OS are ez to use, and windows and macOS are not the exception.
So you were suffering a stroke? Welcome to the club. I had a stroke in summer 2018. It took a while for me to speak fluently again, also doing basic math without using a calculator took time to get used to again. I hope you recover soon.
Win 3.11 not implement TCP/IP out of the box ; need to install tcp/ip for windows 3.11 ; I cannot get to see shared folders from linux (note cifs protocol set min version to smb2.0 ; y put ver=1.0 steel not work 😢)
When I found out about this I jumped fully into Linux. I don't want my computer literally video recording me! However, I don't think it's gonna affect/effect Windows computing space at all because most normal people don't know or care about privacy or change defaults. They just use their computer as it is.
It's not only about privacy, it creates a pretty serious attack vector. This will be a huge target among the more nefarious groups online (or even in person from the perspective for use among stalkers, blackmailers, etc)
So true. It makes me very nervous. Luckily, I don't have a computer with an NPU in it yet. I do have a mini PC that's running Windows 11, but I've been planning to upgrade it to Linux. I use it as a media server on my TV.
MS covering their spying on what their OSes are used for and disguised it as "a Feature!" What a Microsoft thing to do. "This glaring hole that allows us to spy on you is now considered a feature." Someone shorthand this and copyright it (or however the BS CopyWrong system works), you'll make money!
Then I'll say it for you. They couldn't care less about user privacy and will do everything they can get away with to harvest user data for various reasons. Recall and other neural engine features have the potential to be very powerful spying tools. It could use the hashes of images it analyzes locally to respond to external queries. The brilliance of this is data doesn't need to constantly get uploaded to servers. Instead small bits of encrypted data can be sent in response to a query asking for specific information. This could range from 'benign' usage data to whether certain media contains flagged content. Similar to the drama when Apple suggested it would be detecting csam locally on devices. To be clear, I'm not claiming this is exactly what they're doing. I'm only pointing out that the technology behind NPU features like this are exactly what you'd want to implement such a system. Personally, I think their track record combined with forcing it onto users is a red flag that there are motivations here which aren't in our best interest.
I've only watched a few videos from Chris, and they seem legit. I will say with regard to me, I don't know everything and it's just my two cents being put on the Internet. Thank you for watching!
Born and raised in Flint. We were the last Flint Central Indians high School grad class 2004. The next year 2005 they changed to the the central Phoenix for a couple years then closed the HS in like 2011 ish. Flint always had the same racial problems as Detroit. Flint was rich and prosperous my Granny use to live in the north end and graduated from Northern or northwestern in like 59. Once the racial makeup drastically changed the living standards drastically changed as well. We're not all the same. There are differences in races
South flint has gotten worse over the years I live off fenton rd and every day you hear shooting the police helicopter flys over this neighborhood everyday due to shootings and robberies and raps woman comeing up missing drug houses and with so many people in flint we don't have enough police officers and when you call you will be lucky to get one to show up
Hey, love watching your content, noticed your from Michigan, as am I. I received my LVAD from Henry Ford and assuming you did as well. Small world I suppose. Wishing you good health and a happy life 😊
