Is The Macbook Pro M3 Pro Worth It For You? 

TL;DR if your going to do a lot of video editing, get a Macbook Pro with 16GB of memory. The Macbook Air will throttle the CPU slower, because it has no fans. The base model Macbook Pro has one fan, while the Macbook Pro M3 Pro has two fans. It really depends on how much video editing and rendering you plan on doing. I don't recommend the base model Macbook Pro. Personally, I have the Macbook Pro M3 Pro and find it very nice. The one downside is the weight, coming in at 3.5 lbs vs. The Macbook Air at 2.8 lbs. If you're doing a fair amount of video editing, I would get 16GB of memory and 512GB of storage. Even at that level, you'll fill up your 512GB storage fast! An alternative to Macbooks is the Lenovo - Yoga 6 2-in-1 13.3" WUXGA (1920 x 1200) Touch Laptop -Ryzen 7 7730U with 16GB Memory - 512GB SSD. I have one and it's a great computer similar to the Macbook air, but has fans and costs between $750 and $900. I have one, and use Linux on it, although Windows would be fine. I use Kdenlive to edit my videos which is free and open source and works on Mac, Windows, and Linux.

If you're on a iPhone and you press and hold on the screen, it'll play at 2x, then go to normal speed when you let off the screen. I agree, this dude is frickin slow!

It really depends on your needs. The Macbook Pro has better performance and more ports. If you don't need a memory card slot, then you may not need the Macbook Pro. I would really look to getting more ram and storage no matter what the case. If all you're doing is daily tasks like surfing the web, making documents and such then 8GB is fine. As far as the OS goes, I would always choose MacOS over Windows if those were the choices I had. If you've watched my channel for a while you know I love Linux; it's not for everyone though.

@@FastGadgets I decided on getting the macbook pro with the m3 pro chip (18 gigs ram/512storage) and better processors than the base m3. It would still beat the m3 air in terms of display and processing power. I'm in it for the long term- I'll be using it as my primary consumption device so that means 10-12 hours of usage everyday for sure. Besides that, a lot of multi tasking for my work and for research purposes. I know it's not great for gaming, but I'd love to try it out and see how much I can actually game on the thing. I also produce music and like to edit, though those are hobbies. Given all that, it seemed like the macbook pro was a better pick compared to the air. Thank you for responding!

@@syriusgreen6335 I also chose that one. The Me Pro also has 2 fans, unlike the M3 base model, which only has one.

@@FastGadgets I've been using it for a while. And I've been pleasantly awe-struck by it. Besides all the usual jazz that everyone knows about, and I was expecting, I'm most surprised by the sound. I didn't expect it to be THAT good. I don't know what wizardry they're pulling off at apple but the audio is just magnificent. Sometimes I have to replay parts of a song - because i KNOW it came from infront of me, yet sounds like it's behind me 10 miles away.
