Thanks for passing by. I will be reviewing the gold note PA 1175 in the coming weeks it's the PA-10S big brother and Goldnotes flagship amplifier. Watch this space!😄
Hey man, some constructive feedback, the background music is cool but a bit loud, it’s distracting when you talk. The transitions can be smoother, describing the sound of the amp should be a bit longer and should be compared to a reference amplifier and others so we can place it in our minds a bit better. Also you are pairing this amp with focal speakers, the amp may be neutral and it’s the speakers that are a bit bright and forward. See i like your energy and enthusiasm, but i have to be honest if i were to decide wether i’m buying the amp or not your review would not help me make my decision. I sincerely hope you take this the right way, i mean no disrespect. Have a good day man.
Thanks for the feedback, I reference the amp against others in this and other reviews on my channel. I pointed this out on this video.... But you made a few good points that I will note for other reviews. also thanks for taking the time to watch the review and writing such a lengthy comment. I believe you mean well. Join me again for future reviews as I'm pretty good at implementing applicable feedback.
@@platinumyaadmusic6410 yes the fact that you compared it to the gato was very good, but what i mean by having a reference amp is having an amp that is a good neutral reference neither warm or cool and with very good power on tap so you can switch back and forth between your reference and the amp you are reviewing making your takes on the matter sharper and informing us that it was thoroughly compared to a neutral point of reference. Just like with speakers, for example a very neutral well regarded « reference speaker » can be the concept 50. Giving better insights than focal on the character of the different components of the audio chain because it is so transparent and non colored. Thank you for taking this the way i meant it when i wrote my comment. I will definitely follow your videos especially if you review amps and speakers.
@platinumyaadmusic6410 really well done video. Nice job! Were you using Rel's high level connections? If so, did you have the red and yellow cables twisted together? If not, how did you wire them? Thank you very much for the video and answering.
With the maroon finish they easily match the SF‘s in terms of looks. For me personally, a pair of Epikore 3’s in combo with 2 ELAC Varro DS 1200 is high up on my upgrade list 😊💯
Like the Steinway with AMT tweeters, After 23 years, in 2023 I bought thin-film AMT ribbon tweeter speaker GoldenEar BRX and I love them so much that I bought a 3rd one as the center speaker for the home theater for matching LCR. source=Apple Music lossless
I have two of the 812s with Sopra 3 and I'm super happy. They have more power than I could or would EVER use.🫣 They are tight, fast and go deep to 19htz, all the attributes for simless implementation in hi end stereo. My subs are only set from 30htz, so they don't overstep lower frequencies of my Sopras. I have them also connected at the same time to my Anthem 1140MRX surround amp and I'm very satisfied with them too. I truly highly recommend them. I can't imagine someone not being happy with 812s and for the extra $2K they could already buy a nice cables for their system or buy a room treatment, or a streamer, etc. You know.
I think I'd do the Kefs, Then again, in this price range I'd do the Paradigm Founders 120H hybrid since we get them a bit cheaper than you do. No need for subs with those. Nice vid.
It depends on how music was produced. One of the techniques producers do is reverb or slightly delay the sound of an instrument between the left and right channels. These days there's lots of pluggins available that can effectively do this for you.
@@platinumyaadmusic6410 . I see, so these speakers have a user DSP interface incorporated within them to add delays, reverbs etc. as one pleases. That's awesome , thanks 👍 (edit) PS, I didn't see the app or plug-ins that come with these though.
Oh, I see your angle now 7:35 speakers struggle to reproduce all the details within the original recording. This includes the reverb tricks. I hope this makes sense to you. If not, book a few demos at one of your local hifi stores 8:39 and hear it for yourself😊. It's amazing. You will be surprised with what your brain perceives to be happening.
At what AVR volume levels would you say you noticed a difference between the 1V and the 2V? Also are you adding a room correction target curve and/or a manual gain boost?
I think you'd be very impressed with the Rythmik F18 sealed servo sub. Maybe you can get a hold of one. I'm subscribing to your channel and looking forward to your work ✊🏼
Glad I found your vid! I have an AVR550, and am in agreement with your comments about centre channel dialogue. I had assumed it was an issue on certain movies, but if the AVR20 is such an improvement in this area then I'm even more tempted to consider upgrading - to the AVR21, if the AVR20 is no longer available. Were the bugs you experienced fixed with firmware updates?
It’s amazing that the Room perfect algorithm is the same used in the Tdai 1120 all the way up to their Model D. Big 👍🏻to Lyngdorf and Room Perfect The steinway Lyngdorf speakers is where you’re gonna hear the biggest difference from Lyngdorf audio vs electronics IMHO. I’d love those crazy kool model B s 😅
You are going to need better steering DSP for movies other than Ready Player One. I really really think Sony needs to license there 360 Spatial Surround mapping tech too Anthem and Marantz to open up the rest of the 4K surround movie media.
The Perlisten team are some fantastic guys who really know their stuff! Common misconception is that this is just some new company thrown together by sown random guys. The Perlisten team has decades of knowledge and experience in the audio industry and all the drivers are designed and built by them and proprietary to their speakers and not shared off the shelf parts. The speakers measure and perform among the best on the market and they are just getting started!
I agree with your statement. They have decades of experience. Stephen Mascenik is one of the partners. He has been involved in engineering since the early 80s. He was one of the head engineers for Nakamichi for 20 years..back when Nakamichi was Nakamichi😅. I know this because he is my older brother..😊
I just ordered the AVR21 and now watched your video. I’ve been through every mainstream brand receiver made in my life. It was time for me to step it up. I almost bought the Rotel 1576MKII processor but it’s ancient in its options. Two channel music sound quality is the most important to me. After watching your review I wish I would’ve went the Rotel route but hopefully I like it. I actually bought an NAD T778. It has a big beautiful color touchscreen actually much nicer than the Arcam and it had lots of bells and whistles that Arcam doesn’t have. Most importantly after turning off Dirac the NAD came to life and the NAD is in another league compared to mainstream receivers. I ran Dirac, copied the levels and distances, entered those in manually and shut off Dirac. Dirac failing on measurements is a Dirac issue. Look at their ratings online. My NAD put a huge smile on my face and then started having problems and eventually broke which I guess is common for that model. That’s why I bought the Arcam. I was curious if you’ve ever compared the NAD sound to the Arcam sound? I’m also using a big two channel external amp for my B&W fronts. I hope I’ll be impressed with the Arcam but these comments don’t seem that way. If that doesn’t work then I’m not sure what to do.
They are so overpriced for made in China! You think that KEF is basic? They use unique concentric drivers backed up by years of experience and acoustic research
Hey thanks for passing by. I agree with you on the price but that said beryllium tweeters are not cheap to make and even harder to integrate effectively without creating a fatiguing top end. But if you execute it well like perlisten have you can simply create a sound that sounds like magic. I personally own the kefs, and the uni q driver is good but I think you really have to go up in the range, like the reference metas to experience a comparable or better sound.
If made in the US, Perlisten said they'd cost 3X as much. For the quality of the product, I don't think they're overpriced, especially the R-series. These things are built like tanks, and are almost as heavy. The drivers are amazing, as is the sound stage. KEF makes some great stuff also (which I'm listening to in my office system), but it's not on par with the Perlisten (and hasn't gained any THX Dominus certifications).
😂 good question. Not many, hence the reason why you often see a sub set of movies used as reference material. That said in uk the national speed limit is 70mph but consumers typically like cars that drive much faster than that. And probably wouldn't even consider buying a car that could only do 70mph?
Hi there. I’ve seen a number of your videos and really enjoy your reviews. I’m in the market for a couple new subwoofers and I’m considering the Arendal 1V for my dedicated theatre. I presently have 2 SVS,PB 4000’s. They’ve been decent subwoofers, but I’m looking for something smaller in size but of the same or possibly better base quality. Space is a consideration, and I like how the rentals don’t take up a large footprint.. i’ve read that the Arendal may not dig down quite as deep as the PB 4000. Would you agree with that but I’m not looking for something to dig necessarily 15 Hz and under the rentals seem to fit the bill both in size and price. I just thought I’d ask you for your opinion on this. It appears that the surround on the subwoofer may not be quite as meaty as my PB 4000. Will that affect the excursion and possibly prevent it from digging as deep. Thanks for all the great videos. Keep them coming.
I can guarantee before even watching this vid that the carbon special will be preferred even tho there is precious little diff between the two. I've heard them both.
Good video, and thanks for posting. Always admire people who's willing to put themselves out there. Having purchased the Arcam AVR 20s matching 4-Channel PA410 Poweramp, which I was allocating for Atmos channels gave me the opportunity to trial it for my two channel music. In my small room and to my ears, not only more control at lesser volumes. It also extended my soundstage (not much but noticeable) For me personally, having the environment sounding good is just as important as my other personal preference.. quality cabling. In my experience, when dealing with a multi-channel setup, shielded cables are a must. That's if one appreciates a low noise floor, of course. Has to be one of the most rewarding purchases I've made to date. The better the shielding the quieter the room. In fact, when friends come round, I enjoy pressing the pause or mute button. None of them gets it of course 😂 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-e-B3kjyLvwA.htmlsi=LYRrUyD8YHJAoBUP
