Glad I found your vid! I have an AVR550, and am in agreement with your comments about centre channel dialogue. I had assumed it was an issue on certain movies, but if the AVR20 is such an improvement in this area then I'm even more tempted to consider upgrading - to the AVR21, if the AVR20 is no longer available. Were the bugs you experienced fixed with firmware updates?
Interesting video. A bit out of my price range, though, I think I'll stick to the Marantz. Also, and I hope you take this in the constructive spirit it's offered - you could really benefit from a lav mike on your shirt. The room seems to have a fair bit of reverb to it and the mic is too far from you when you're on the couch.

Good video, and thanks for posting. Always admire people who's willing to put themselves out there. Having purchased the Arcam AVR 20s matching 4-Channel PA410 Poweramp, which I was allocating for Atmos channels gave me the opportunity to trial it for my two channel music. In my small room and to my ears, not only more control at lesser volumes. It also extended my soundstage (not much but noticeable) For me personally, having the environment sounding good is just as important as my other personal preference.. quality cabling. In my experience, when dealing with a multi-channel setup, shielded cables are a must. That's if one appreciates a low noise floor, of course. Has to be one of the most rewarding purchases I've made to date. The better the shielding the quieter the room. In fact, when friends come round, I enjoy pressing the pause or mute button.
