Hello world, I'm a novice hacker and active security analyst. I plan on documenting my journey here as a Cybersecurity professional with advice, tips, and tutorials that I create to educate up and coming IT enthusiasts.
How you explained learning, writing notes for no reason, forgetting what you learned next day, barely implementing, is so relatable I literally laughed out loud. 😂
@skexone 🙄 I recommended coursera before I was sponsored by them. Bare bones basics for complete beginners. For 50 bucks it's a good deal compared to most certifications.
The more I grow up, I think about just how vital of a skill it was to be able to convince my 2016 lfg fireteam that I knew what to do for vault of glass (I did not know oracles but they didn't know that fact and everything worked out) It is important that others trust your competence
Can you elaborate why you hide your face behind a mask, after all you do an honorable job why hide ? Is it hide from hr, for security reasons ? I want to understand your perspective.
This video has given the zeal to push my try hack me SOC level 1. do you recommend that training for someone looking to change careers to cybersecurity.
I do want to state for people applying for jobs, location matters a lot too. Sure in the United States, there are 1000s of jobs listed (over 19000 in the case of this video). That may not be the case globally. For example, in the UK you'll find less than 1000 jobs available in total right now for cybersecurity. more than 1/3 of the jobs are in London - which can be expensive to live and cybersecurity pay is no where near US standards - and if you're up in Scotland, there's currently 60 jobs on Indeed for Cybersecurity. A lot of these jobs are either Hybrid or onsite. Being able to relocate is really important. On top of this, many listing are "reposts", and others are "bootcamps" or "training" courses that don't actually get you a security job, just a job in IT where you have to find your way to security on your own. So in my opinion, it really depends on your circumstances. If you're unable to relocate, you should tailor your resume and you should apply to as many jobs as possible. Though you may not hit 1000s of application like others would, just apply to whatever you can. The smaller the amount due to restrictions, the more effort you should put in your resume.
From the description: "You’ll earn a dual credential when you complete both the Google Cybersecurity Certificate and the CompTIA Security+ exam". My question is, does the order matter? I'm already far in Sec+ study and planning on passing the exam soon, will I be able to link both certs even if I do Google's cert after Sec+?
I watched this video a dozen times before my interview yesterday and got a call back within 2 hours. Am now devouring every other related video on your channel. Thanks for top notch content!
