Dear Principal Paige: Just a quick thanking you for your upbeat vibe throughout this year (and half of last). Your calm Monday messages are peaceful moments in the malestrom that has been the year(s) of Covid. We thank you for all you do and our family wishes bliss, and the best of all the great NW summertime has to offer. See you soon, but not too soon. Be well.
I don't see my comment, so I'm posting it again. Hi Bjorn, I hope you'll record another video for the incoming 2020 ACMA students and all returning ACMA students of course. This welcome and return to a new school year will be different. New students will likely have missed out on their graduation ceremonies and other memorable events before the school year is over. Returning students will be happy to be back at a place they love, thrive and grow. What can be done to make the welcome/return for them to be as spectacular at the fundraiser event was? - I don't quite know it, but I think this is an opportunity to make up for what was lost and inspire for what's to come in 2021. Don't you think? Hope you already (secretly) work on a fantastic opening for a new school year :-)
Ulf, thanks for your comment. Sometimes corny, always heartfelt, and often mercifully short, I'll share a video message at least once a month (maybe a bit more often in these sheltering at home times), and always look forward to shooting the welcome (and welcome back) video to start the year. You're right that the fall of 2020 will look and feel different and that we want to make it spectacular for all the kids, families, and staff. We are kicking around some ideas, and to be honest need to see what the state will allow us to do; until social distancing restrictions are able to safely relax a bit we have to accept the uncertainty of what the fall might look like. That said, we will be back, and when we are that ACMA spirit will fill the halls with creativity, kindness, and lots of unexpected delight.
Thank you ACMA!! I am delighted that my fourth grader and his West TV friends will be schooled with this wonderful group of kind students during their time of need. I could think of no better group to help out! West TV is full of the Coolest kiddos EVER, you'll love them ACMA!
Congratulations ACMA. how cool!! thanks for sharing and all the best with the renovations. you deserve a new school. the pictures at the end of this confused me , though. there were definitely pictures that were possibly not in the time capsule? just pictures of ACMA's past. you can tell by styles of clothes ;) no girls were wearing pants in the 50's hee hee hee.
During a brief period wherein I lived in Hillsboro and had to lie to the school district about my address so I could continue going to ACHS, I lived two doors down from Mr. George. He is a national treasure.
lol. this video actually had music over it, but it was a two track system and when we copied it over for Bennett's archives, it carried the wrong audio track.
Thanks! As a dad myself, and one helping my own kids transition to new schools this fall, I want to do everything I can to support students and parents.
