Delve into the wonderful world of Kenshi through the eyes of Sukudo, the Caelans, and many others. From scenic landscapes and various wildlife to majestic structures and experiences, Kenshi offers something for everyone. In 2024, here's to enjoying Kenshi 2 in 2026 - and staying awhile in Kenshi as we wait :)
Mods used here: More Building, Market Stalls, Forgotten Buildings, Expanded Lighting, Dustless Interior/Furniture/Floor, Colorful Base Lighting, Club Lighting, CMRoadAddOn, CMRoad, CMGlassPartition, CBT Leisure Objects and Furniture, Better Crop Fences, Automated farming. Genesis for the Shek city changes - it is a WORLD OVERHAUL MOD (with other mods in it), BE CAREFUL :).
The swamp is quite creepy when you're first going through, and hear the hissing spider sound for the first time. Great resources and farming there though!
Gut can definitely be brutal. Build a shack, get some storage, and then build a shop counter. Put some basic meat, first aid kits in it, should attract caravans and others passing through. Sell hides and eggs to Heft and Heng (best to sell to anywhere with the most markup like a robotics shop). Get some mercs. Put up a couple of crossbows on a storm house, and you have a solid start.
@@unknownself-kenshi I didn't think to build the first log cabin, I always build the first one near defensive walls, but it happened to me that I had a wall built and they still went through it, or killed some monsters in the area
@@safiravr2401 Walls are tricky. Build the wall as level as you can, then press Ctrl+Shift+F11. Save, then load - usually this will fix the wall mesh and make it solid. For buildings, hold the left bracket [ key to make the building level before placing it.
Hi! I love how your game looks but i'm not experienced with Reshade. Would you mind doing a video explaining what settings do you use? I downloaded and installed Ranno reshade but it doesn't look like yours by default
This series is awesome! Can you release the modpack you use for the series, I love high-tech mods for kenshi, and this series has some great-looking stuff in it.
I love the idea and perhaps the execution as well. I say perhaps because.....well, it's hard to see in almost complete darkness. I would love to see it with perhaps some daytime lighting.
So does Genesis overhaul the game entirely? I just started playing this a few weeks ago just got a base set up in Okrans pride. Got a weapon smith and armor Smith scorchlander but I now see shem on the border is a ideal location for all crops. I was thinking I should probably beat it mostly vanilla then try some sort of overhaul mod. Was checking out reactive world not sure if i should install that on my first run or not.
I'd play the game vanilla first, then look at the overhaul versions: UWE, Genesis, others. Genesis is a package of mods, and changes many of the towns. I like the changes, but have heard others enjoy UWE and others more. Shem is great for crops, HN has great areas too - there are lots of places in Kenshi to try out.

I hope kenshi 2 expands on settlements. Like, imagine if you can create custom laws, or run tourism hubs with entertainment and hotels. I also hope they add an option for characters to have likes and dislikes, like in RimWorld, to give each party member uniqueness
I hope so too - would be great to add these features in Kenshi 2! Having more customization would add to an already great experience :) Can you imagine having a party member go insane and burning the town down after losing a family member?
@@unknownself-kenshi I sometimes wish Kenshi was around about 20 years ago when I was spending this kind of energy creating my RPG or 10 years ago when I was play testing magic the gathering decks for hours upon hours. I would be doing everything I could to make cities like this. Bless you for focusing your creativity in this way. <3
@TheVampireAzriel That would have been cool, Kenshi is quite a gem 💎. Sounds like you made quite a lot of creative works, it's fun to do that as time permits.
This video is great, the only thing it’s missing is what makes the Shrieking Bandits possibly one of the most interesting factions in game: the Shrieking Bandits Expanded mod. With that, food is just one of the things that can be “farmed”.
@@unknownself-kenshi You didn’t?? Well, basically it creates different kind of “groups” of shrieking bandits lead by unique “shrieking bandits minibosses” and gives them unique weapons and armors that look extremely cool, and can even be crafted after unlocking the related research through “shrieking bandits tablets” that can be looted from the minibosses. I absolutely suggest you to at least look for some videos, because it’s one of the very best Kenshi mods ever, together with Hives Expanded and Cannibals Expanded 😎
@adolfolerito6744 Sounds awesome! I'll have to check it out. I heard from a vid by Hero in His Head that shrieking bandits are misunderstood nomads that broke off from the cannibals years ago. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wo6vixAjyCM.htmlsi=jYbBAeTp-nPvWIjf
Whoa, this is absolutely amazing! I don’t know how many mods you have, but the work you did is great, and it’s an injustice that you have so little views pal! You deserve a sub for sure 😎
Heyo genesis author here. Im uh. going to be a bit of a buzzkill here. Flying cars, rockets, boats, rising walkways etc are just not possible in kenshi at this moment in time. maybe far into the future when Re_kenshi is finished. but sadly for now not possible.
Thank you for your feedback, I'm pleasantly surprised that you're seeing this :) Given your experience and expertise on the modding Kenshi (Genesis is quite awesome!), it seems that a solid approach is making the experience feel like flying, etc., without breaking the engine/trying to do things it cannot do. There is a portal mod (with a character at each end) I've not tried yet, as a quick example for rocket travel (with adding some kind of animation). So the focus is making more of point A to B travel options. I'm open to feedback as I work on this mod within the constraints of Ogre and am looking forward to Kenshi 2!
Currently, the city is accessible by walking, with the upper levels via stairs taking a bit to get to. I'm seeing what's in the realm of the possible for immersion and convenience.@@doppelgangersmoppelganger9883
@@unknownself-kenshi This is DEFINITELY one for porting over to Kenshi 2. Their new and improved engine will allow boat travel and player-owned boats. The boat code can form the nucleus of future vehicle mods. New Atlantis in Kenshi 1 looks very cool. Looking forward to future updates.
@mirceazaharia2094 Great idea, will look into doing this for Kenshi 2! I'll see what's possible for Kenshi, and make those updates and show them in future vids.
Thx, glad you love it! Next episode is to meet up and head back to Heft and see what's going on and meet Tengu, the new Emperor. Might be able to fit in a visit to Bast for mourning and remembrance. I have 3 pages of story outline typed up that I'm following.
